Your BMR is your resting energy burns, not including exercising, walking, etc. Your total calories out for the day might be a lot higher than you think.

Everywhere I have read they have the superior customer service when it comes to their devices. From replacing lost and stolen devices to replacing faulty one's as well. Gotta love a company that bends over backwards to make their customers happy.

I've had my Fitbit Flex for about two and a half weeks now, I'm LOVING IT. I make sure to do the extra walking to get over my 10,000 step goal daily. I think today is the first day I haven't because of health reason's. It makes you really rethink how much you move in a day and how much you eat as well. Since getting it,…

today was a cheat day, went out to breakfast with my parents and lunch with mom after running around and doing errands. I was OK till lunch when we stopped at one of my favorite hole in the wall Mexican restaurants that happens to be the ONLY one that serves tamales in the area, so I totally over did it. Not to mention…

i honestly haven't had an issue so far, but most of the people i deal with daily know I'm actively working towards a better healthier me. I've actually had a few friends join me here who are looking to do the same. But at the beginning of my weight loss I was up front with people and told them that if they didn't support…

I'd lower the amount you are trying to lose a week since you are so close to your goal.

Torrid has amazing boots in the winter time for bigger feet and calves...

Congrats!!!

course you could be a snarky b!tch and start commenting back on the burger they are shoving in their mouth...

I drink two sometimes three dr peppers a day (depending on calories I've got left and how much water I've drank) anyone tries to take that away and I'm shanking someone!

THIS SO MANY TIMES THIS... Shortly after I started losing weight I had issue with one of my cousin's who's never had weight issues in his life, but his sister and mother did, make some really crappy comments on my facebook about the fact that I should cut out soda completely and do this and that and what ever HE thought…

Love the idea about the rotisserie chicken!

Enter it into MFP the way you would have before you starting using fitbit, but make sure you put the correct start time in. They will communicate between each other to give you the correct calorie burn :)
-
yep
-
Yeah you might have just been starving your body of the fuel it needs, hopefully this will kick start your weight loss and you'll be down in no time at all :)
-
I wonder if that works??? LOL

Another idea so that at lunch you don't fall face first into a plate of food is take a piece of fruit with you and eat it on the way to work or as soon as you get there. I had to go not too long ago for blood work (thankfully on a day off) and soon as we left the office I was eating breakfast asap, That fast is no joke…

another idea would be to talk to your doctor and maybe there are upper body exercises you can do till your knee is well enough to do more. My mother who has two bad knee's and needs replacements in both can't get up and be active as much anymore (beyond shot at this time, but she's worried about the down time the surgery…

I know, but there's always hope :(

oh you can totally add in cleaning so long as it's vigerous! I recently bought a fitbit to see how it worked with me and I'm LOVING mine. I'm burning off hella calories just doing my normal everyday job and things around the house! I don't eat back all the calories every day, but I'm close (I leave a little room for…

Is there perhaps a way for her to talk to a medical professional for them to clear up her long believed myths?
-
honestly so long as you stay with your target Calorie intake you should be fine. You will still lose weight, but you won't gain muscle (till PT when they kick your butt!). I would also change your activity level to seditary during that time... Congrats on the knee surgery though and enjoy Vicodin land!
-
yeah what he said LOL

when you joined you put in your current weight, height and age as well as your activity level and how much you want to lose a week. Based on all of this MFP sets a "goal" for your calorie intake for a day of whatever activity level you set. If you were truthful in your active level (if you sit around all day and don't move…

I refer to my doctors scale as "that lying *kitten* scale"

as someone else posted earlier, I have a fitbit flex and wear it daily. It's nice cause I can see how much walking I actually do. In a given day at work (yes, it's work, but I work retail and I'm constantly on my feet walking around) I have found not only was I severely under guessing how active I was on a normal day, but…

MFP has already factored in your calorie loss, so if your calorie goal is 1700 you eat 1700 and if you exercise you can eat those calories as well. The "calorie goal" is set for if you do not exercise, so eat all 1700 and if you exercise, eat those as well :) 1700 is the number your body needs to function through the day…

ALLLLLLLLLLLLLL of this!!!

I was also dealing with extreme foot pain and went to the doctor to find out I had Plantar Fasciitis. i was given a sheet with exercises as well as told to roll my foot over bottles of ice. It's helped a lot, but it's not "cured" it. I will more than likely be dealing with this for the rest of my life. Do the exercises…
