  • Feel free to add. I have an open diary, but for friends only. Although warning...I am not a clean eater! Haha.
  • I want the DVD! I went to a live class before Thanksgiving and it was a great workout...easy on the body but still challenging. I can only go to class once a week, though, so I want the DVD as a supplement.
  • I enjoy the Walk Away the Pounds DVDs for when I need something low-impact and easy. I can actually still break a sweat with the three or four-mile ones if you're looking for more of a challenge.
  • Shakeology! One of my fitness instructors loves the stuff...I thought it tasted like chalk. I threw some strawberries in the chocolate mix and it was bearable I guess, but I don't think I would make a habit of buying it. And I don't use it as a meal replacement anyway; just in between meals and not as a crutch to lose…
  • I just took my first PiYo class yesterday and it was great. It felt nice on my body but it was still very effective. I'm thinking of buying the set because I can only get to a live class once a week, though.
  • Mine was today. I've been wanting to step up my workout routine, so I pulled out my 30 Day Shred DVD and decided to do Level 1. It was still tough because Jillian is Jillian haha, but I found it easier to get through than I did the first time I completed the program.
  • I am willing to mentor. I have lost 23 pounds over the last year and am working on my nutrition right now, as I feel confident that I have the exercise part down pat. :) I'm a 29-year-old female, and I love group fitness classes and DVDs for when I can't make it to the gym. (Which happens a lot because I work in shifts and…
  • www.enjoyyourhealthylife.com is my favorite. She's a Les Mills instructor and has a lot of good qualifications behind her advice! And she almost always replies to comments and engages her readers.
  • I have thought about other careers. Someone suggested to me that I look into a registered dietitian (RD) path. It sounds like a great career, but the requirements of schooling+unpaid internship (and you have to pay tuition for it, no less) don't make it feasible. I'd settle for even doing something else within my field…
  • I'm not sure if counseling is offered as a benefit, but I can definitely look into that. I got a negative performance review b/c I wasn't good at one aspect of my job. We are graded on four areas, and I scored well on three of them, but not the fourth. The fourth was leaving some typos behind in my work, though nothing…
  • I'm going to be 30 next year and would love to lose 50 pounds by then. I've been yo-yoing, so it might be hard, but I'm determined. I'll add you!
  • We do have a nice facility otherwise....it was renovated before I became a member. There's a good pool, a fitness center, etc. I do resent the implication that all I do is "social networking" and that I don't go to the gym to work on myself, as I've lost almost 20 pounds. (The reason my ticker only says four pounds lost is…
  • I don't think just a strap will help me. There is no signal to my watch at all. Seems like I would need to replace the sensor too. Anyone else?
  • I just finished yesterday and plan on moving to Ripped in 30 at some point. However, right now I'm trying to take BodyPump twice a week and will be starting a barre challenge on Monday. RI30 might be good once the new year comes around and I need to get off some holiday weight though! I've been saying this whole…
  • 28 and turning 29 in a couple weeks! Feel free!
  • One hour of yoga Wrote a post for my fitness/health blog Level 3, Day 8 of the 30 Day Shred later tonight!
  • I do small talk with other people at the gym before and after classes, but I'm not usually one to go there for the purpose of socializing. I mostly go for group fitness. I went to BodyPump the other day and two girls were talking and joking around while the teacher was talking in between tracks to explain something. She…
  • I have four days left of it, and if you think Level 1 is tough just wait! Haha. Lots of moves in Level 3 are plank based or are strength+cardio. But it is helping me do at least some toe pushups in BodyPump instead of just being on my knees for them all the time. Good luck!
  • I've done Suzanne Bowen's Pilates Perfect Body. It's one of the 10 Minute Solutions workouts that target different body parts. She gives great tips on form and isn't over the top or overly perky, and the moves are pretty easy to follow.
  • I'm not going to knock the workouts, because I've done TurboFire and it's not a joke or gimmick by any means (I also liked Hip Hop Abs and Rockin' Body), but I hated Shakeology. I tried both the chocolate and the vanilla and thought it tasted like chalk. And no, I am not a coach, pretending to be one or anything else. Just…
  • I go to Zumba about once or twice a week and burn anywhere between 350-400 calories (or sometimes more than 400) depending on the intensity of the songs and how much I move that day. I still sweat and it's still fun for me to do, but I also do other, more intense classes like Piloxing, Les Mills BodyPump and the 30 Day…
  • Also, are you sure your scale was on balance? Mine can be off by a couple pounds if it's not.
  • Are there other classes on the gym schedule that might appeal to you? My Zumba teacher (I am licensed too by the way) was really sick for about a week or two, and while she was out, I did Piloxing, as that was what was put on our schedule in place of Zumba. It was a lot of fun, but sadly, I can't really make it at the…
  • If you don't shower before you come to the gym, make sure your clothes and deodorant are fresh before you leave your house/workplace. There is a lady in one of my exercise classes who I swear never does this...and then she tries to get close to me. No thanks...
  • I can't offer much advice seeing as I'm just starting out too, but I went to my first class last week at a new-ish studio (only open for a few months). I wanted to find a laid back place to take classes and not a studio that was really into the hippie-type culture, as that really didn't fit me. I'm also going to try a…
  • I just finished Level 2 today and it was exhausting! I take five-second breathers quite a few times on that one...maybe a little more than Level 1. But I try to do something while I'm taking that breather. For example, if I need a break during the double jump rope (although I do single to follow the modifier), I may march…
  • I am 28 and have to lose about 80 pounds, but I'd be fine with dropping 50-60. Feel free to add me!
  • I am 5'3" and currently 202...started MFP at about 219. I would like to get to 140. Feel free to add me!
  • I weigh myself on Tuesday or Thursday because it's the days I have the most time to do so. Other mornings I'm rushing around to get the dogs out before going to work or a class at the gym. Plus, Tuesday makes sense to me because I also tend to overeat over the weekend and want a couple days for the salt/sodium to wear off.
  • I took my instructor training last year, but haven't been able to do anything with it because of my work schedule. I'm working on it now, though, as I'm looking for another job and want something with a less insane schedule that will leave me time to teach. What specifically do you want to know?
