Hahah, @weatherking2019 your food looks exactly like mine (same tastes I guess) except for the missing kilo of old cheddar the past few days. Likely the reason I am gaining, and not losing again. :o :'(

We just got off 14 days tight self-isolation due to travel, and thank goodness because I think I am going nuts. I hate being in the house and doing 'projects' or cleaning.... and only 1 road runs thru our valley so when I walk it's either that way... or the other way. I think I must have read 50 books online and even…

Yeah, this....for me too. Two different meds that must NOT be taken with food or within 1 hour of each other. So generally 'breakfast' is at 3 or 4 pm because I'm a night worker in Security/Policing.

Glad you are able to get on the road bike and hit the pavement. We did not end up going canoeing as the weather turned grey and cool. We are too old to 'recreate' in non-stellar conditions, we already did that when we were younger, spring skiing in the rain, water skiing in the afternoons when everybody is zipping around…

Exercise doesn't always curb your appetite.... it can increase it too, just depends on quite a few things, duration of exercise, intensity, your fitness level and body fat percentage, the temperature of the environment you exercise in, menstrual cycle, etc.

Good to see you again, @Malimalai. Welcome back!

Looked at the site, and it just puzzled me. Not sure what they are trying to promote... Exercise.... being outdoors.... friendship?

Hi guys, just catching up.... We were in San Diego, then a cruise down the Mexican Riviera when all the 'coronacrap hit the fan.' Still in mandatory 14 day self-isolation and getting bored!!! One road goes through our valley, so going for a walk is either this way... or the other way... and you can only do that so many…

As you can tell, I've always been a fan of reptiles. And amphibians - but they're harder to find.

Horned lizards, lol. They live in the province next to us (and further south through the grasslands and deserts of US to Central America. They have little icky-tasting blood filled sinuses to use as defense when attacked by a predator. Haven't seen one squirt, but have handled them. They are pretty mellow (at least toward…

Sorry, kinda off onto your side track near the end of your post: https://nutritionyoucanuse.com/best-brands-of-low-carb-bread

You can find out more about autophagy, (Nobel prize winning studies 2016.) Fasting helps set up your body to 'recycle' unneeded protein components - breaks down old cells and extra skin, etc. (simplified version) More info: https://accordnutrition.com/autophagy-loose-skin/ btw, just ignore the offers to sell some…

Becks Diet Solution is a very useful book. If you can, try to work your way through the exercises. I've known several gals that thought it was great. We were all together on one of the old 3FatChicks chat board. (Ancient internet days, lol - it is still around though.)

Trotting off to the college now. TTYL.

Yeah, it's not something he got in the hospital. (WARNING * TMI*) He has diverticuli in his bladder, they are almost the same size as his bladder, and of course he cannot fully empty, hence the 2x/day self-catheterization. Some urine stays in and despite being VERY careful to be as sterile as possible introducing a tube…

The Vancomycin is helping...he is starting to feel better, although pretty tired since our schedule is being flipped around so much. Extra emergency cases earlier meant that he didn't get started at 10 last night, more like midnight, bumping today's drip forward to 6 pm. He'll just get finished this course and he will have…

Yep, you have very similar circumstances as I except no kids - 3 elderly parents instead, in various stages of cognitive impairment. My big issue is tons of dairy as my stress go-to. Like a lb of cheese at a time. Cut in thick slices and eaten consecutively over 45 minutes in the evening. Sometimes with organic blue corn…

Sounds like a good plan, especially adding in the veg carbs if fiber doesn't upset your digestive system. Keep in mind that it can make a fast more difficult as carbs of any sort can cause some cravings and make you just want to eat more often in general. Fill us in on how it goes. I usually do LC around 100g carb and 18:6…

Hi everyone! Hope we're all as healthy as we can get (relatively speaking) one month into 2020. So far so good on my end, it's just all the elderly parents health issues and a regularly scheduled IV drip of antibiotic at the hospital that hubby needs due to MRSA. Seems like I have 4 people to take care of besides myself.…

I've eaten the beyond meat burgers before, bought one once at a fast food outlet as a lettuce wrap burger, had a Beyond Meatball salad at Subway, bought the burger patties twice from Safeway (but only when they were on clearance 1/2 price.) I have access to yummy grass fed, ethically raised, no drug beef as I live in a…

Just wondering what the purpose of the carb-up would be? Just curious.

Good work! I don't know if I would have chosen to have so many children if I had the GD problems you've had, but then that's just me. Hugs, girl, you got this!

CW 158 lb GW back to 135-138 lb Aiming this month to check in with my IRL coach once a week. Online check-in here doesn't seem to hold me to my plan as much. Nothing personal, folks. :| I will keep trying though. Southern vacation coming up at the beginning of March. I want to be the hot senior on the beach, lol.

Thanks, baconslave. I so needed that, family health and caregiver stresses have caused a lot of "falling down" for a while now and weight's crept up. I am checking in with an IRL friend for support and so far it's helping me stay with my food plan. Carry on, y'all! 😽

Freakish +12C here yesterday and a humdinger of a storm, pouring rain & very high winds. So bad it blew a full grocery bag off the top of my cart. Of course it wasn't filled with cans or spaghetti squash, lol, still, that kind of thing doesn't happen all that often here. Several large trees were knocked down, some over…

Hi, I will be 56 in a month and in menopause for the past 4 years. Please remember cortisol is an important steroidal hormone that does much more than 'store fat around your tummy.' It is crucial for blood sugar control, immune system health, lowering inflammation, controls salt and water balance and blood pressure, and…

Sounds like you've got it figured out @theleadmare. Although I could still lift the same amount of weight back when I had to quit, there was too much pain in the joints of my hands, wrists and elbows for me to get a proper grip and lift safely. There were added immune system issues around food that exacerbated this which I…

Bwahaha! It was gorgeous here yesterday. Working security at the University college campus (affiliated) Great view as it's built on a hillside overlooking a beautiful lake. It was 7C and we were watching the two ospreys teach their 2 chicks that look almost full grown how to use the thermals. Really the only way you could…

Make sure you are eating enough protein to use as 'building blocks' for your new muscle. If you are doing a deficit you will generally need to take that from your carbs if your style is keto/LCHF, or from your fats if you are doing a lower fats style of diet. You may find that you already have a good amount of muscle, it…
