I'm doing a sort of low carb/lower fat plan because, lets face it, I don't need to get my energy calories from extra fats when I've got pudge in storage on my body. Right now, I'm not doing so great these past two weeks because I'm having a fibromyalgia flareup and am going thru a bit of pain and I tend to stress-eat…

Hi everyone! Wow it's been a whole month since I was on here. Time goes fast! Still busy taking care of parents, whew, more lab work for both, and an ultrasound for Dad to check liver health, all the annual meds and conditions updates with their doc. Plus next month eye health exams that haven't been done for a while. If…

Very exciting, lorib642! You might want to split up your magnesium and make sure you have a bit of something in your tummy at that time. I take magnesium bisglycinate and it's much easier on the digestive system as well as being very absorbable.

Just a 'heads up,' you will probably find a drop in your exercise efficiency/strength/endurance for the first while until your body gets used to the new fuel source. I know there is a thread on here for keto lifters/exercise enthusiasts, you'll probably have to do a search. (I can never find things on MFP by doing their…

My no/low carb trigger food is old cheeses. I can eat a 1/2 kilo over the course of an evening. And yes...thousands of excess calories in fat will definitely still keep you from losing. I do like my organic blue corn tortilla chips. But I've sworn off them for the next few months because I get carried away. Can't just have…

@mor72 you could always buy a sample envelope and try it to see if it's a handy meal for on the run. I will admit to a protein shake now and then because I don't always have the time or setting at work for an actual 'regular' meal.

Ahhh, @sufferlandrian you aren't the last one left, lol. I just haven't been on the forum for quite a while. I am working fulltime and actually extra days (10 in a row) so that my coworkers and I can flip days when our relatives that we are taking care of need help. I also got the Moderna Covid19 vaccine (first shot) just…

I always wonder though, if soy is so bad for you why isn't it a problem in Asia.... half a billion Asian men can't all be wrong, lol.

Nice thing about the new job is that I get to walk home from work since it's only just over 2km from my place. Enforced exercise, because after years of teaching fitness classes, and training physio clients I don't ever want to go to a class or hit a gym again. Solitary sports in nature is actually more my style. Also too…

@Cora0477 When I read the last part of your post, I was thinking...elderly parent. Obviously not, when you said they were 'looking grown', :D

Every night at work, it's a mop-up mess. Customers coming in with mucky boots makes for a bit of a sloppy sandy muddy mess, and the past few days I've been on second shift/closing. If we had real snow, at least it would mainly just be water. Gross.

I do turkey burgers on the BBQ every so often, I like to use abit of poultry seasoning or sage in them and sometimes add dried cranberries to the meat mixture, yummy.

Peanut butter cup, YUM! Nothing like a Reese's breaky.

Sorry, I had to!

Strangely enough, pork and cat allergies can be related: https://verywellhealth.com/pork-allergy-caused-by-allergies-to-cats-83180 (article submitted by Daniel More, MD, a board-certified allergist and clinical immunologist with a background in internal medicine.) Also alpha-gal syndrome if your allergic reactions happen…

I had been off the site for about a month and when I came back at the end of Nov, my notifications had all disappeared. None at all for approx a couple weeks that I was aware of. At least that seems to be fixed now, but not sure if anyone else is/was having that issue too.

It's because people are actually gawking at the accident scene, or trying to figure out if they know the person with the car troubles that needs a tow.... they aren't looking at anything else - including the tow truck drivers. It has been so amazingly YUCK for the past few days... highs of 8C with nighttime temps just…

Nice to see that there are notifications coming up on my feed again. Not sure why no connections were happening, but I suppose MFP is always tinkering around with the site anyhow. Yeah, I have edged up slowly over this year (weightwise) and need to get back to logging my food (which I hate because it seems like I have to…

I just want to say WTG at 87, @MissyCHF Just make sure to get enough protein as a senior, as we do not absorb as well as we get older: From 2016 here: https://ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4924200/

Hi @knorris84. Just a point regarding fibromyalgia and food allergies/sensitivities. FM often goes hand in hand with undiagnosed celiac disease or Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity. If you do have these conditions as well (more auto-immune crap, right?) you will also be sensitive to dairy. I am in the same position. At least…

Hahaha, @rfsatar when you described your (ex-)Dr. Muppet.

Seems like I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum. I like my ice cream hard enough to chew. Melty ice cream disgusts me.

Oh yeah..... can't forget the cake:

Forgot I promised a few pictures of the wedding: here they are (Covid compliant outdoors and 25 persons or less at the time.) A couple more hundred family and friends attended on Zoom which is why you see the earbuds in the groom's ear, lol.) The bride and her mom. The bride with her Nana & Papa (my parents.)

Wow, snowy and wintry where you are! We have below zero temps and frost but tons of sunshine and dry in the valley. The cross country ski areas are open already, but I have a new job (1 month) and haven't had time to even consider heading out for a snowshoe or ski up higher. I'm taking a break from security, and am working…

We are all laughing here about the 'Four Seasons' press conference. I'm glad the landscaping company is making money off of humorous T shirts and such.

No.... unfortunately it feels more like we live in the apartment below the drunk neighbour.

You might just have to leave a whole wardrobe at work, lol. I used to do that when I worked at the bank - lived close enough to walk or ski to work but of course not banking-dress-code appropriate when combining exercise with commute.

Yikes, nearly 2000 active cases today in Yellowstone County alone! Flathead has the second highest number of active cases in the state. quote from Montana Free Press https://montanafreepress.org/2020/10/22/flathead-county-draws-covid-enforcement/

I love Eden black soybeans, but they cost a fortune here in western Canada, $3.50 or more a can. Haha, I buy them when I'm feeling rich. As for me, I'm trying again (seems like every day, lol). Originally in mid Nov 2013 I got serious and lost 35 lbs by the end of Feb 2014. Maintained for quite a few years easily until…
