Four weeks. Daily weighings. Have some patience. It's normal to see daily weight fluctuations. Consider weighing yourself weekly. If you are getting upset/discouraged four weeks into a new program, you might want to look at perspective, long term goals, etc.

I can think of a few things that scream I AM SELF IMPORTANT more. [edit] Here's one example: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/976035-are-women-envious-of-skinny-men

Your opinion does not make something a fact, even if you use "100%" when stating it. If there were trees covering the stop sign and someone had called the city about it, we might be having a comparable scenario. From what I've read, there is some question as to how "obviously dangerous" the behavior was. There is also…

You're surrounded by folks hanging onto every word at dinner parties, aren't you? RE: the lawsuit.. I've read a few of the stories reporting the incident online. I think it's interesting how quickly people form opinions based on OP's retelling of a story with no links at all. First link shows up in second page of thread…

I'm terribly sorry, but there are very detailed, full color diagrams on correct punching technique that would not translate well to the audio book format.

I think this is absolutely true, provided that while smoking pot you are creating a calorie deficit. Just as punching yourself in the face can help you lose weight, provided you are creating a calorie deficit. Please don't steal that. It's from my upcoming book "Punch Yourself in the Face and Lose Weight Now"

That's the asparagus.

Be willing to listen Be willing to trust Be willing to be vulnerable Be willing to be disappointed Be willing to laugh at yourself Master those and you will have virtually unlimited meaningful relationships, online and in real life.

Hypocrisy doesn't smell good on Thursdays.

Not sure I agree with this. I think hormones affect bone structure. What many doctors are saying about this story is that because of the hormone therapy Fallon Fox has undergone for so long, there are changes in her bone structure - that is, any advantage she may have had before are removed because of the hormone therapy.…

This story intrigued me because my initial reaction was some version of the "equality for all" sentiment some have posted. Then I read Joe Rogan's publicized response, and while par for Joe Rogan (not necessarily classy), he did make a point that I found hard to ignore: different bone structure. If you are going to…

I hope this can add to the discussion: http://mashable.com/2013/05/23/lego-x-wing/

I'm not sure I agree with the thread title, but will enjoy reading valid arguments for and against. ETA: GIFs w/ quotes > quotes > unrelated GIFs

TL;DR version: If a child is hungry, he will eat. Long version: Probably not going to be a popular stance, but I believe we create picky eaters. I'm not talking about allergies, texture disorders, or even strong food preferences. Of course not everyone is going to like all food. But we parents (especially in the US) are so…

One of the better conversations I've seen in the Chit-Chat section. 1. OP posts personal problem, asks for help. 2. Advice ensues, some snarky, some compassionate. 3. OP doesn't get defensive, seems genuinely willing to hear advice, doesn't freak out. 4. Thread continues, even with opposing viewpoints. Thank you, OP, for…

You do know that forum etiquette dictates performing a search before posting a new topic, right? I know MFP isn't set up well to support that, but it's a pretty basic tenet of any online forum. I'm not saying this to call you out. I'm not denying your right to start whatever post you want. I'm saying this because had you…

Was it a steel horse perhaps? Maybe the names changed, the days were wasting away Place where the faces are so cold, he had to drive the night to get back home? Was he wearing a cowboy hat? Could he, maybe, have been wanted? Wanted dead or alive? Maybe he couldn't sleep, not for days, and the people he met always went…

Almost like he's fishin', brah...

I agree with every word of this. But I'll tell you why it's wrong... The problem is that giving people the benefit of the doubt, making assumptions that people are doing their best, simply replying with a polite "no," ignoring the intoxicating pull of paranoia and self-centeredness - none of that really works to start a…

Just so I'm clear on the term being used, are you defining "catty" as someone who talks about someone else behind their back, or holds them up to ridicule with comments about their appearance or behavior?
-
Agreed. This is USELESS without a standard measurement for serving size.

Out of curiosity, what would a temper tantrum look like if it happened on an online forum?

I get up every morning, look myself in the mirror, and recite the following. You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have The Facts of Life, the Facts of Life. There's a time you got to go and show You're growin' now you know about The Facts of Life, the Facts of Life. When the world never…

Agreed. But damn you for getting this stuck in my head: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_GxXRbSFDg

It's really hard to have our family and friends ask us questions in precisely the right way. Strangers sometimes have better luck because there's no history there and maybe the have the same weird insecurities that I do. As the one receiving a question, one thing you can try is to simply assume the asker's intent was good,…

10 years later, ‘Star Wars Kid’ speaks out http://www2.macleans.ca/2013/05/09/10-years-later-the-star-wars-kid-speaks-out/

Agreed. I went with what was in the freezer. I won't make the mistake again.

OP - Do you remember posting this, just over a month ago? It's here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/943156-i-want-him-he-doesnt-want-me-vent-rant?page=5 Sometimes we have the answers already and just need reminding and/or a change in perspective.

Excellent first post! Welcome to the community.

Where is your car? And if boyfriend drove you home in your car, where is he now? How did he get home? I know - probably not relevant. But I read your original post, and I couldn't make it work in my head so had to ask. Good stuff, there. From someone who knows what she's talking about. I'm not sure how this story is going…
