Thanks, Glevinso!

Thanks for the information - I've toyed with the idea of IF and I think it might work well for me. If I'm understanding you correctly, you are eating to lose about a pound every two months? I know I can do that....I just need to work on my patience:)

I'm so glad you posted this! I've been experiencing the exact same thing and have been feeling a bit guilty about it. I am a 38 y/o female, 5'8, and weigh between 145-147. I've been in maintenance for the last 7 months. In January I cut way back on my cardio (consisted of one 12 mile and one 4 mile run per week) and…

Sorry - this is a bit off topic but was wondering if I my goal is to lower overall body fat (currently between 22-23 % and want to get to19%), should I eat at slight deficit or maintenance while lifting? I do get some cardio in and lift heavy 4x a week.

First of all, congratulations on your weight loss!!! 25 lbs. in five months is great! As far as your mixed feelings about your friend's weight loss are concerned, I feel your pain. Like you, I have been trying to lose the correct way (diet and exercise) and have a few friends who use Isagenix and are dropping weight like…

I haven't tried it personally but know many people who use it. Just a word of caution.....unless you want to live on shakes for the rest of your life in order to sustain your weight, I wouldn't do it! From what I've seen and heard, people do lose weight, but, mind you, they are significantly reducing caloric intake. You…

I just read some of the other posts and was reminded how young your baby is. I didn't start working out until after my youngest child's first birthday. Younger babies do need a lot of time and attention but it will get easier as baby gets older. You've gotten some great advise so far....maybe you can do some of the home…

Hi, I haven't read any of the other responses so I may repeat what others have already said:) First of all, I understand where you are coming from. I work outside the home and have four kids ranging in age from 9 years to 15 months so I understand being busy. That being said, it is imperative that you take care of yourself…

Yes! Two weeks prior to Easter, I was especially intentional about not going over my daily caloric allotment because I planned to eat what everyone else was having. Although my intake on that day looked nothing like it usually does, I didn't make myself sick....I just enjoyed the things I don't normally eat.

I weigh myself almost daily but my trainer checks my body fat, measurements, and weights every 4-5 weeks.

Good for you!!! It's amazing how freeing it is when you have an epiphany like that:) I totally get what you're going through....I struggled for years with anorexia but did binge and purge on occasion. As I suspect you know, this disease is about control....when you feel like everything else is out of control you control…

Thank you both for your replies....totally get it now:)

Same thing has been happening to me....I've been strength training for a little over a month. I'll lose some and then appear to gain it back then I'll be back down again. It's very frustrating but I'd just chalk it up to water retention.

I haven't found that elusive energy spike either....I have a similar workout routine, calorie Intake , and I'm nursing a toddler, running around after four kids, and working full time! honestly, I think our bodies are just over-taxed right now. Keep up the good work! I know it will pay off I the long run!

For me it has been a very good decision. I have four kids, ages 9 and under, and a full-time job. For years, I've wanted to start exercising but just couldn't find the time. I have a bit more disposable income these days so in March I signed a 3-year contract for gym membership and added a year of unlimited personal…

Thank you so much for the advice!!! I appreciate it tremendously! I think for now, I'll keep it at 1600 and be patient. If I have damaged my metabolism, does anyone know how long it will take to speed it back up? BTW, I've never had a great metabolism....I've always had to be very disciplined with my eating.

WOW!!!! Congratulations - very well done! You are one smokin' hot mama!

Such a timely post as my mother-in-law made the comment to me this morning, "OMG!!!! Look at those calf muscles!!! You may want to lay-off the strength training." To which I replied, "My muscles aren't growing....you're just seeing them from underneath the fat I have/am losing." Her reply, "You don't have any fat!" Well,…

I have not tried Isa but know many people who are on it. These people have lost a tremendous amount of weight whereas my weight loss has been slower....However, the Isa users do not have the strength or body definition I'm gaini g through old fashioned calorie reduction and strength training. So....if you want fast, and…

I'm not as tall as you....I'm 5'7 1/2. But I agree that taller women do seem to be able to "wear" more poundage a bit better than shorter gals. I have always been embarrassed by my actual weight....and have made excuses for it even though a lot of my weight comes from my height and frame. About 10 years ago, when I was in…

OMG....I was literally going to post about this same topic! I am sitting at my desk approximately 2 hours post-workout with severe stomach cramps and cold sweats. My stomach is growling but the thought of food makes my nauseous. I'm curious to read what others have to say. This is no fun!!!

Thank you all for the advice....I appreciate it very much!!! I guess I'll be heading to the store for some products and will be discussing this issue with the dr. at my annual exam next month:)
