Thanks Side, I know that the weight will vary. I expect to hit plateaus from time to time but I know if I stay the course the overall trend will be good. But I guess I am just vain. When will the blobs of fat begin to disappear. I need to see something as part of my work. Am I being stupid and silly?

Welcome Ross! There are plenty of people here who can offer good advice on your questions but it sounds to me like you're doing pretty well in the exercise arena. Keep it up!

Thanks for the replies. Given my current out of shape condition I think weight loss should be my primary goal. But I also want to develop increased endurance and generally improved health. I couple the cardio with weight training and usually spend about a hour to an hour and a half in the gym three days a week. I am…

For me, planning the day is essential. I need to know at 6 AM what I will eat for 6 PM. Of course flexibility is important but if you have a plan you will do much better.

It's not surprising that you scales and those at the docs office are different. Neither is designed to be that precise. But it really doesn't matter. Don't be concerned with the actual number but with the trend over time. I weigh once a week naked. I don't get naked at the doctors office and so I know there will be some…

Thanks. I made my first big mistake yesterday. I decided to "reward" myself with pizza. I figured 2 or 3 slices of a thin crust couldn't be that bad...whoops! 500 calories per slice and almost a gram of NA+ in each. As it worked out I only busted my calories for the day by about 300. So I'm right back on plan today.
