Only YOU can decide if it's worth it or not. You don't say how much you have to lose, but speaking as someone who has been at this a long time I can tell you it's not always easy. Sometimes I still pout and feel sorry for myself that I can't just let go at eat like i used to. But I wouldn't go back to that person if you…

You are my motivation and inspiration!! You need to add before/after pic so everyone can see how awesome you are! Love you!!! Teresita :)

WOW! Congratulations!!! Great job!!!

Not sure if my DH will mind if I post this, but I'm going to because I'm so proud :) He turns 38 in 2 weeks. Started @ 260+ (he's 5'11"). He never gave up any foods, just counted calories, took up running and now is addicted to crossfit. It can be done, he is proof :) Good luck! Teresa

You lost because you WERE creating a calorie deficit , you just didn't know it ;) Yes you are supposed to eat at a deficit. When you set up MFP you plugged in the deficit you wanted (500 calorie deficit to lose 1 pound a week, 1000 calorie deficit to lose 2) MFP gave you a daily calorie goal to consume that would allow you…

I don't think anyone is beating you up about your exercise (though it may come across like that online) basically just going back to the saying that "people tend to overestimate calories burned and underestimate calories consumed". The bottom line is creating a calorie deficit. If you are eating too much food to have a…

Posting mine and my hubby's almost 200 lbs lost btwn us!

You are making weightloss too complicated. Sometimes that happens reading these boards with so many differing opinions and advice. Do what works for YOU. It is possible to lose weight without tracking your macros. People do it all the time just by counting calories. If you have trigger foods that you feel will derail you -…

I started with Couch to 5K @ 225 (5'5"). I really liked it because every workout I met a goal. It's very empowering and motivating. The key is to take a rest day when you need it. Listen to your body. Take it one workout at a time. I just ran my third timed 5K with my best time ever - 32:46! Let me tell you that felt…

Yes. and I agree. I started running last year and I loved the challenge - I never ran at all so when I started the C25K, it was very motivating to reach the mini goals (able to run 2 minutes straight, then 3 minutes, etc.) Now I still run, but I am having trouble being motivated. I can run a 5K, I have no desire to run…

I was the same way. I said to my husband, what if I fail?" and he said " then you will just try again" it was a light bulb moment for me. Also I tell myself this all the time" Everyday is another change to get it right!! You can do it. The first step is always the hardest...

I can't see your pic in the post, but I can see in your profile - you look amazing!! Congrats on your weight loss!!
-
I agree! I'm sure some people close to you have noticed, right? Coworkers, etc didn't comment until I was down like 75 lbs (i started at 250). Then it was like OMG "what are you doing??" You're not doing anything crazy to lose so fast?" Lose fast? I've been working on this for the last 6 months, lol. Have you gotten…
-
I think people need to comment because they don't "get it" it is annoying, though isn't it? I agree either I am eating "too little" or "depriving" myself or making everyone gasp when I have a piece of chocolate, lol. You would think my weight loss would be proof enough that I know what I'm doing :) Just can't win with…

You are amazing!! Your story made me cry. You look fantastic and I know what a great feeling it is to be a role model for your son (I have 2 of my own).

I ran into my cousin, who I hadn't seen in about 6 months at the mall. After exchanging hugs, she says " wow, you look ... (looks me up and down, long pause)...good" like she was totally surprised that I could even look good, lol. Granted I've been overweight my who life and had lost about 70pounds since she lasts saw me…

It is the sodium, If you stay the course the scale will go back down. Don't weigh yourself everyday, you will drive yourself crazy. Really. Pick yourself up and move on. I never would have gotten the far if I'd stop every time the scale went back up a few pounds :) Don't stop!

Me too. HUGE achievement for someone like me. Getting rid of emotion associated with food. I do not think of food as "good or bad" . Healthy or not healthy? yes. Too many calories? Yes. Triggers to overheating? Yes. Delicious? Of course :)
-
The secret is to just keep going! Don't stop! I've had bumps and stalls along the way, but I never let it derail me. And yes, it really is just all about calories in, calories out - there's no magic to that :) Teresa
-
I live for my bedtime snack! Look forward to it everyday :)
-
Yes at least you could when I went to school in the dinosaur ages, lol. I agreed you are addicted to the sugar, not coffee. 700 calories is just crazy! You can get a tall skinny vanilla latte from Starbucks for 90 calories - I could have SEVEN of them and still be under 700 calories! 1) make your own coffee/tea as others…

Did you get it? Drove me nuts too :)
