Buy him a beer, congratulate him on all his success, and suck it up. Its totally normal to feel jealous. Just use it to refocus on your own goals, and stop the backslide into old bad habits before any real damage is done. Have you reset your goals since you lost weight? I do mine every 10lb and it adjusts down 20 to 30 calories each time. I was taking in over 1600 calories when I started and now around 1530 before a workout.

It might sound crazy, but you will keep it off, rather than crash dieting, possibly losing the weight quickly, stopping the diet, gaining it back plus, and coming back here again to start over.

If you are not weighing and measuring ALL your food, than you are probably over eating. If you are weighing your food, than are you weighing it before its cooked? This ensures you don't underestimate how many calories you are eating.

Right? I was going to say 9, but I creeped your profile and between ironing, and sweeping, total 10. I would have given myself a 4 or 5 a few months back, but I feel awesome and am amazed at the changes I see and feel, so 7 out of 10 over here.

Wow! Why would anyone do that? I do love the sound of them chirping and singing away though. Used to leave my windows open in NC just to hear them at night.

I love the elliptical as well. As long as you are getting your heart rate up where it needs to be and getting about the same calorie burn as a treadmill, go for the elliptical. You only get one set of knees, so keep them from getting more messed up if you can.

Start off with then nightly walks. She is open to that so keep going and as she feels better, maybe you can encourage her to make a couple of other changes. Don't overwhelm her right away.
