Lacey's cookies from Costco...I can eat the whole bucket of those bad boys. I think they must have crack in them. There is no moderation with Lacey's cookies. Anything else I seem able to manage

I've been medicated for hypothyroid for 20+ years. I lost weight in the last year when I decided to eat at a caloric deficit and not before. It's more than possible to lose weight when diagnosed hypothyroid...the same way everyone else does. Watch your calories and some exercise can't hurt.

I've already given in to the temptations of the holidays....the goodies, the drinks...all of it. I fully plan to eat all the things on Christmas day, too. I'm glad I'm almost at goal and not starting out, so I feel I can give myself this little break and then get back to being serious after Boxing Day. I have been trying…

Great job!

I don't care, really....just my way of asking if anyone else notices and revels in odd little things like that, I guess.

I think what surprised me when I started paying attention is just how high the calorie count is on so many restaurant meals. I shouldn't have been shocked, but I was. I do now order double salad instead of higher calorie sides like fries, etc. My hubby an I also often now split an entree, or if he's not there I take half…

You can add me. My primary exercise is lifting....only been at it about 8 months, so no expert on the subject and your weights definitely beat mine :) I started with SL and am more recently adding in other things....gotta build more upper body strength before I tough mudder next fall. I'd enjoy seeing more lifting statuses…

I suspect so. I can't see any issues with receiving chocolates/candy at Christmas. It's a pretty common generic gift....not very original, but not hurtful. The comment part confuses me. I have no idea what it means, but it doesn't sound rude.

The classes are a good start to get a feel for what you like. Even though some incorporate weights like pump, they're more cardio than anything, though. Everyone has their likes and dislikes. If you like cardio and the classes, nothing wrong with just doing that. I'm not a cardio fan, so I had to learn my way around the…

What do you consider low calorie? You're well within a healthy range right now, so shouldn't have to have to ambitious of a deficit.

I tend to be hungrier on days I lift. Not always, but often. If I'm truly hungry, I let myself eat....Quest bars are a good option for getting fibre and protein all in one.

Good job. Looking great. It's interesting seeing you at 138 as that's about where I am now, so it gives me an outside view of myself a bit.
-
I don't think it affects my hunger...more my cravings. If I'm tired, I crave more sugary things and the high calorie comfort foods and have to fight that.

" it's just a sheer lack of willpower" Seems like you know what the problem is, so that's what you have to work on....moderation or abstinence. Which you choose is up to you and everybody finds success differently. The more often you choose not to grab the second mini donut or pass on the cookie entirely, the easier it…

I don't sleep as well if I eat a lot of carbs in the evening. Probably a scientific/nutritional reason for that, but I don't know what it is and it doesn't really matter why...it just is what it is. I won't weigh in on the overall argument of whether sugar is generally healthy or unhealthy but for some of us who are…

GNC often puts them on sale. Buy them buy the box when they go on sale and they're more affordable. I don't like the banana nut or the strawberry cheesecake, but the chocolate peanut butter and the peanut butter supreme are really good. The brownie one is pretty tasty, too. I like their fibre count compared to other bars…

I'm having trouble getting past the cottage cheese and ketchup :# ... ....but, yes, I have been dizzy when I get busy and don't eat. I find I need to eat something every couple hours. Can't skip meals.

Zesty Cheese Doritos ...and cake...carrot cake, cheesecake, chocolate cake...pretty much any kind of cake

Calorie burn is often overestimated. You should eat some back, but not all. If you're stuggling, it's possible you are not logging completely accurately or are eating back more calories than you are actually burning. With a closed diary, it's hard to say more than that

You look fabulous. Great work!

I'm about 5'2, almost 43 and 138lbs...my TDEE -20% is 1477 when calculated with light exercise 3x per week, so that sounds about right. As shorties, we smaller people need to eat less. That said, I'm not doing -20% at this stage. 138 is already within a healthy range

I'm thinking of doing a tough mudder. If you'd asked me to do that a year ago I would have called you insane

Good job

It's really going to depend on how much you have to lose whether it's a healthy idea or not. It's likely doable, but if you're not very heavy to start, it may not be healthy. If 50lbs puts you into a healthy weight range, you're probably around the 1lb per week loss category, so 7 months and 50lbs might be a stretch. I've…

If you put pineapple on my pizza you're in for more than an argument from me.

I don't think you can get "toned" up that fast. It's only a few weeks and adding a little weight won't change your body comp that quickly.

I have a friend who had a lap band done. She weighs as much or more now than she did a few years ago when she had it done. Why? Because she didn't use the tool. If you aren't ready to use the tool, I'm not sure how it would help. I technically qualified, too, when I started out (205lb and 5'2"), but I couldn't bring myself…

Sorry to hear that. Completely sounds like something I would manage to do. I'll remember to be careful at yoga class tonight. If it makes you feel better, I fell off a stability ball with dumbbells in my hands this morning. No broken bones, though :)

I get up at 430 and at the gym by 5. Done by 6 and home for a quick shower before work at 7. As much as I hate early mornings, I prefer the calm that time of day to the crowds at the gym after work. I seem to be more motivated to get a morning workout done. If I plan for after work, I'm too good at talking myself out of…

Without asking why... Chicken, turkey, tuna, steak. I find turkey breast great bang for the calories....with your fat at only 20% turkey breast is a good choice for a lean, high protein meat
