Uh okay...well im not sure if you were looking for some sort of input or support or what but people are going to have feelings and if they share their feelings with you it is up to you whether or not you want to address them or not. Are you saying you wish your friends wouldnt express their feelings to you because it is…

Protein is 4 cal per gram, carbs are 4 cal per gram, fat is 9 cal per gram and alcohol is 7 cal per gram. In terms of most liquids a gram is a mL and there are about 29 mL in an oz. So roughly speaking if you drink 2 oz that is going to be about 58 grams..lets call it 60 grams so i can do this in my head. Standard hard…

Dark chocolate has caffeine and caffeine is an appetite suppressant. That said if what you are after is appetite suppression to lower caloric consumption yuu oud probably be better off with a cup of coffee than a bar of dark chocolate. Now if your goal is actually to find a reason to eat dark chocolate because you want…

I don't know to be honest. I mean clearly we can train ourselves to control our bladder subconciously because we don't just pee ourselves and yet that control isn't really that mentally directed (unless you are actively holding it back because you are about to burst). I guess I always assumed it was mental conditioning,…

What will matter in determining what amount of calories is appropriate for steady weightloss will be determined by diligently sticking to the same range and then tracking over the period of months, not a single week. Single weeks don't matter and will be very misleading. If you end up constantly adjusting your intake based…

Privacy issues aside I guess this sort of thing makes sense to me. An insurance company is going to be going emotionlessly off of actuary tables. If there is sufficient evidence that routine exercise lowers the chance of hospitilization and thus cost to the insurance company then it makes sense for them to adjust costs…

...but the large intestine isn't where you absorb nutrients and derive caloric and nutritional content from a meal...that is the small intestine. How long waste sits in your large intestine really has nothing to do with how quickly you derive full nutritive value from a meal. I mean I think this is pretty obvious when you…

Short answer is no, I don't believe that current artificial sweeteners would have any affect whatsoever on frequency of urination. Long answer. Artificial sweeteners are all very different from one another, the only thing that unifies them is that they are much sweeter than sugar. Stevia, surcralose, aspartame, acesulfame…

I am not aware of any gender differences between how long it takes to process food. I'd be curious if you have a reference for that claim as I would be surprised by that. Also important to note is that food has been processed a good time before you eventually "poop out" the non digetable portion. So timing it as how long…

Yeah that doesn't really work. You can't just look at another organisms diet and assume it is somehow translatable to humans. Gorillas have metabolic pathways and enzymes that humans lack....they can digest cellulose, we cannot. This is no different than showing a picture of a cow eating grass and suggesting that somehow…

Well, honestly, I don't know that I would agree that water is "good" for you. I think things that are "good" or "bad" cannot be necessary. If something is necessary then it doesn't make sense to layer some sort of moral judgment on top of it. Water isn't "good", it is essential. I wouldn't say that eating is "good" for you…

No...you must have deep seated reasons for everything, has this forum not taught you anything?

who wants to end victim voting rights? Oh wait...now I get it.

The most beneficial thing you can drink after a run is whatever replaces not only the water you have lost from the physical exertion but also the electrolytes you have lost. That is why you should just drink your own sweat. But if you find it difficult to collect your sweat for later consumption then diet coke or some sort…

The amount you are hydrated is basically the amount of liquid in your body before and a while after ingesting a beverage of some kind. This could be determined by measuring basically your liquid in (volume of beverages) and liquid out (volume of pee) which would ignore the amount of liquid you lose due to respiration and…

Crap wrong thread lol....moderator if you could delete this post?

Aren't MFP blogs just people writing whatever they feel like writing with no oversight or accountability? I mean if you are coming to the conclusion that you should not blindly trust what you read in articles on line and instead take the time to check sources then sounds to me like you are on the right track.

....it is sort of my thing.

Yeah I've heard of glutathione. It's a tripeptide. If you just injest it youd digest it into amino acids. So yeah I guess if you need more protein in your diet. There is a reason diabetics inject insulin instead of just eating it.

Yes you are absolutely right...that thing that I said was stupid and that thing you said was completely correct in some sort of objective way. You have won, I am defeated...gasp. Moving on...

Caught a typo in case anyone cares. I said blood has 95mg of sodium in 12 oz but I meant in 1 oz. It is 1136mg in 12 oz.

So you are going to be disrespectful while asking that I also answer your questions? Have I disrespected or mocked you anywhere in this thread? Honestly if you can't be civil I dont see the point, from what I've seen so far whatever I say you will just mock it and act like I am personally offending you in some way. It's…

Totally understandable, they are asian culturally and aren't really part of western culture. I didn't know what they were at first either and they are kind of...odd (to a western palette at least). But yeah they are a special gift for a season so its kind of like well-wishing to give one. That said I don't think you have…

Hence my point that some people see life as a competition and some do not. You seem to be in the "do not" category which means you probably don't see the connection. Those who do see life in a competitive way probably do see the connection. And that is fine. You can choose to mock it if you want to I suppose.

Just some numbers Sodium content of tap water: 13 mg/12oz (source: just googling sodium tap water) Sodium content of diet coke: 40 mg/12 oz (source: https://www.coca-colaproductfacts.com/en/products/diet-coke/original/12-oz/) Sodium content of human blood: 1136 mg/12 oz. (source:…

Yes...eating fruit late is horrible for you....that is why I make sure that whenever I eat fruit I do so on jet airplane heading due east so I can maintain the correct time of day for safe fruit consumption. Hard to take this question seriously. No....fruit isnt horrible for you. Time of day has nothing to do with anything.

Moon cakes are a rather rare seasonal treat associated with mid autumn on the lunar calendar and are quite expensive being made with lotus paste and duck egg...kind of a thoughtful gift probably best not to sh"t on it publicly online. It's kind of like getting a truffle or caviar and then complaining about it.
