I feel you 100%. We eat breakfast in the car most days. I love cream cheese and veggies on toast SO MUCH, but since you can't eat dairy - 2 slices of Weight Watchers bread, half an avocado, and a sliced hard boiled egg or a fried egg. And sriracha :D. Or a tortilla with turkey bacon, a fried egg, and spinach.

My chili is usually 4 cans of beans and 2 cans of diced tomatoes. And that's on top of the ground turkey, veggies, mushrooms... More protein! And then eat on top of pasta, with sour cream on top. Mmmmmm.

I got a cute Contigo water bottle that fits 1.5 bottles of water. I try to drink 3-4 full a day. Mio and Crystal Light are really delicious and give your water variety :). Today I've got watermelon strawberry, and blue raspberry.

I'm obsessed. I go between Crystal Light and Mio :)

Ehh I gave up cereal because the calorie splurge isn't worth it for me personally. I much prefer a piece of toast (Country Harvest has a variety of breads with oats or sprouted wheat or nuts/seeds) with 2 poached eggs, or cream cheese and cucumber, or spinach and a fried egg, mashed avocado and tomato slices... Then fruit…

Someone very close to me suffered from ED's when I was in university. She took a year off work and entered a full day rehab program at a hospital, and it was such an important step in fixing her broken relationship with food. The woman she is today is such a pleasant surprise, because she got the professional help she…

I haven't attempted my own entry yet, but this was so good to know. Thank you for this post :). Most commentary was similarly educational. I want to tear my hair out when I'm recipe building on the app, and have to open my laptop to do googling and conversions because an entry isn't offered in grams. The barcode scanner is…

Seconding the Healthy Choice recommendation. I don't eat them often, but they're great in a pinch.

Olive oil is perfectly healthy. I roast a HUGE amount of veggies for my SO and I -- 2tsp olive oil over a ton of asparagus, or up to 1tbsp over 300g or more of broccoli florets, etc. Adds some healthy fat and tastes amazing, and the calories aren't THAT bad. For frying veggies, I use soy sauce mixed with rice vinegar and…

1.) PLEASE understand that weight loss is not linear. When you see "2 lbs per week", it does not mean that every Monday you will weigh 2lbs less, like clockwork. Some weeks: water weight will mask fat loss, you will go up and down daily, your period will cause you to retain water and feel bloated, eating salty things will…

I sometimes search things like "Kirkland organic peanut butter grams". Occasionally I get frustrated when I CAN'T find what I want (like this afternoon, I wanted Kracken rum in mililitres but could only find oz.) so I have to ask google for a conversion. Mostly, things are in grams, though. It's OK to use the "tbsp"…

I eat 90cal Chapmans ice cream bars (Tiger Paws are my new fave) after dinner, or air popped popcorn with some popcorn flavouring. Save yourself 200cals for after dinner and reduce your snack size. NEVER take a whole bag of chips to the couch. Always always weigh a portion, log it, and put the package away.

I've been successful with fitting junk food into every day of my new lifestyle. Smaller portions, as often as I want them. I don't feel deprived or guilty, or like this "diet" is a way to punish myself.

SW: 200 CW: 173 GW: 135 5'10.5" with a tiny frame. I made it to 150lbs using MFP in 2014, and this time I know I can finish the job :).

There's your problem right there. How can you know you're sticking to your deficit if you don't log EVERYTHING you eat? I cook with a notepad and pen. Anything I weigh, I jot down to log when I have time.

Cutting out all of life's delicious foods, or labeling certain food as "bad" vs "healthy" is a recipe for failure. The point of counting calories, IMO, is to learn portion control. Not to deprive yourself/make your weightloss experience into a miserable punishment. Find ways to fit smaller portions of the sugary treats you…

I don't "cheat" because I'm not on a "diet". I'm teaching myself appropriate portions, and how to control myself. These are skills I'm going to need to use for the rest of my life, so I find great success in working treats into every single day. That said, I DO have the rare occasion where I allow myself to go over my…

You 100% need a food scale that weighs in grams. Weigh all solids, measure all liquids. Treat things like oils, peanut butter, condiments, etc. as solids . That's the only way to make sure MFP will work for you. Otherwise, you literally have no idea how many calories you're eating.

I price match a lot, and shop at a low budget grocery store. I stock up on meat that is expiring soon, and have a freezer full. One thing I love to do is get a pound of ground meat (turkey, beef, or beef/pork blend - whatever is cheapest at the time), 2 cans kidney beans, 2 cans black beans, 2 cans diced tomatoes, 1…

My favourite snacks when this happens are Kraft Amooza cheese strings, or a gouda Babybel, turkey pepperoni sticks, hummus and pita, a hard boiled egg, or those little kits that come with tuna/buffalo chicken and crackers. All 200 cal or less.

I love salsa with 2 or 3 servings of Special K cracker chips. Cuts the craving like no other. Sometimes I cut up cubes of cheese and it's dinner.

I'm a cashier. I have to fiddle with things to turn the barcodes the right way, and when I tetris everything onto my back conveyor belts to make it all fit nicely, so I'm pretty sneaky about it (customers pack their own groceries at my store). It's not even that I care what THEY eat, I'm creepin' on all the stuff I want to…

On my first time around, I was 200lbs. A lot of resources I looked at at the time suggested that a 5'10" woman should aim to be about 150lbs. Except when I got to 150lbs, I was still really unhappy with what I saw. I have a very tiny frame, so I assume that means that I would look better carrying less weight. So now the…

A food scale is non-negotiable. Are you weighing your food in grams? Eating "healthy" doesn't mean you will lose weight. I lose 1.5 lbs/week eating cookies and ice cream.

I guess in that respect, I'm lucky I'm in retail. No such thing as a weekend hahah.

For the most part, my SO and I eat the same things but my portions are tweaked to fit my specific needs. We have the same breakfast, but I eat one piece of toast folded into a half sandwich, while he has 2 pieces of bread. Lunch time, we have lean meat sandwiches, or chicken salad wraps, or frozen entrees occasionally. He…
