I've been getting rid of stuff as I lose. I think it's better psychologically to not have the safety net of big clothes stored away. Congrats on the weight loss!

I love having the App so I can add food throughout the day, wherever I am. On the other hand, the web site is necessary if you want to read or contribute to message boards, so I use both daily. :)

It makes a post appear as a recent post, so that it is more likely to be read by others. :)

I logged, and made sure I stayed under - only by 6 calories, though! LOL! I'm doing low carb, and I was a teeny bit over my usual, but still at an ok amount. My gift to me was not cheating, but I get why people do. Whatever works!

I do Atkins. I enter all of my foods, and keep an eye on the daily Nutrients Summary values of Carbs, Fibre, and Sugar so I can calculate the net carbs for myself. If I'm using a product that has sugar alcohols, I either make note to subtract it out for myself, or I create a new My Foods entry that reflects the actual net…

I can identify with you. I used to put off eating, and then go for something convenient rather than something healthy. I'd skip breakfast, not bother bringing lunch to work, and then buy Cheezies and Coke from the vending machine late in my shift, after most other people were gone. Then I'd not bother with dinner until I…

Also I'd like to be judged on the merit of my character, and not presumed lazy and weak because of how I look.

I do not want to be the DUFF (Designated Ugly Fat Friend) ever again. I believe my purpose in life is larger than making a marginally attractive skinny friend look better by standing next to me. LOL!

(Defecit, not defect...)

For me, refined carbs had to go! I used MFP back at he beginning of 2010, before trying anything special to lose weight, just out of curiosity's sake (and I was a new iPhone user, with an app addiction - LOL!). I entered my info, MFP showed my recommended calorie intake (which was a 500 cal defect from my BMR), and I…

I read your post, and then went on eBay and bought a copy for $5! It will be interesting to compare and contrast Dr. Atkins' actual diet to the new revised one. Maybe tweaking what I'm currently doing will pick up the pace! LOL!

FAIL! How does one make this appear as a photo instead of a link? Please help!

I'm just seeing if I've figured out how to successfully post a picture...

Good luck! Just be sure to read the NEW book! It's pretty involved, but it is awesome!

You can calculate that with a few of your measurements at the following: http://www.bmi-calculator.net/body-fat-calculator/

This is the BEST site for that: http://www.mybodygallery.com/index.html I think it's helpful for determining your goal weight, and for motivation. Enjoy, and good luck!

They have some lowER carb pastas at thelowcarbgrocery.com. They're still too high for me at the moment, but they're better than nothing. I have been buying Shiritake noodles, which may be the miracle noodles you speak of. They are made from yams, and are available at some health food stores and asian grocery stores.…

I'm on Atkins! A lot of people talk about how it doesn't work long term, but they tend to mention going back to "normal" eating after reaching their goal weight, instead of staying in Lifetime Maintenance Phase 4. I had 120 lbs to lose, so I've stayed in induction, sort of. I have started adding some of the rungs on the…

I've only been doing this for three months, but I've found that I go about three weeks without losing (and maybe even gaining a couple during PMS), and then dropping 5 in that fourth week. It's strange, but consistent. And I only use the tape measurer once a month, and I'm losing inches. I was worried the first 3-week…

I started Atkins 3 months ago too, and I'm down 36lbs! It's great stuff... It's awesome that you quit smoking too! Doing it all at once was a smart way to go. Congratulations!

I don't have before and after pics yet, as I only gave up empty carbs (those other than fibrous veggies) September 1st, but I can let you know that the cravings were gone after the first two weeks, and I lost 22lbs in the first 19 days! That made it well worth it. I haven't dropped any more pounds since then, but I've…

That was my biggest thing. I don't do coffee, but I drank a lot of Coke. I've bought some cans of Coke Zero, and when the cravings get crazy I have half of one of those instead. They taste similar enough to satisfy the craving, and bad enough to stave off the craving for another few days...

I only just started a new way of eating, but it turns out to have naturally diuretic properties, and on the 5th and 6th days I was really thirsty, headachy, and having leg cramping. Then I read about symptoms of low sodium, and I corrected that promptly. Today I feel a thousand times better!
