  • If you mean the fitbit adjustment to your calories on MFP, its because it is taking your whole day into account, not just the time you were walking.
  • To say that cakes are just sugar is inaccurate. Cakes are generally made with the following: Flour, Sugar, Butter, Eggs, salt, milk, baking powder. Sometimes there is oil, and then you get to flavors (chocolate, cocoa powder, extracts, fruits, etc). That is JUST the cake. It does not include any frosting or filling.... If…

I am a bit concerned with how quickly the weight came off. I don't want it to all just come right back :/
  • The why varies person to person I think... I know a lot of people that have tried it because, as someone else said, people have demonized Carbs. Others because they follow/believe the science behind a Ketogenic diet. I do it because my DR & a nutritionist friend of mine think eating a Ketogenic diet will help me reduce the…
  • It is very easy to eat under 50g Net carbs (and even less) when you remove things like bread, pasta, rice, potato, corn, candy, flour, sugar etc from your diet. edited because apparently i cannot spell today.
  • I personally love peanut butter. My mom however cannot stand to even smell it, so it was not necessarily a "staple" item growing up... That being said- for my fellow peanut butter lovers - my friend taught me something this summer that is heaven. S'mores with a Reese's PB Cup instead of Hersey's Chocolate square.... OMG…
  • I weigh every morning, log it to FitBit and then Fitbit updates it here. I turned off the Weight Loss notifications from my wall though so it doesn't post daily anymore if I lose. Weighing daily is definitely a personal preference that is not for everyone. I weigh daily because I like having the data to review should my…

  • Yes this was why I asked in the first place. I like the Stronglifts for the most part, just need to get my form fixed... I have not started New Rules yet. Work, family, gym time and household duties have not left me too much time for reading! Thank you for the recommendations.
  • I never noticed if I am on my toes or not... I will pay better attention on Wednesday, Thanks! My gym does not allow barefoot sadly, but now that I know my shoes might be an issue I will pay better attention to it! I am still not sure that my form is there but I will keep trying.
  • I am definitely looking forward to saying "good bye" to the poor quality, over priced clothes that I have been buying at plus size stores like Lane Bryant. You would think with as expensive as their clothes are they could at least last more than 2-3 wearings before the hems and seams start unraveling. Also looking forward…
  • I have 29.5 to hit my first goal of 250 (started at 310 in July). Then 200, 175 and finally down to 160, which is just inside the "ideal" weight range for my height. I might go down to 140, but not sure yet...
  • I tried searching for it in the forums but didn't see anything. I will keep looking! Yes I am using my running shoes, they are the only sneakers/tennis shoes I have right now. I will look into flat soled shoes to see if it helps.
  • I started the stronglifts program 2 weeks ago, and I plan on continuing it, I just have one concern. My balance is off on my squats and rows. I have to work very hard to keep from leaning one way or the other. I have not added any weight yet because I think until I get the form right its best to leave it as is, but I am…

I was eating at least to 1200 every day last week. I am a bit concerned about how much I lost…
  • Cake I made for a friend when she was recovering from surgery since all she wanted was yellow cake with chocolate frosting and sprinkles :) Oh and a link for those with a sweet tooth and in need of inspiration! http://mycupcakeaddiction.com/
  • I would have to say, you may have worked hard for your weight loss but did you ever consider that she may have worked equally, if not harder, for her money. You choose what you do with the result of your hard work (apparently judging others), she chooses what she does with the result of hers (surgery). It does not sound…
  • OK- But it is not necessary? I have had some days (like yesterday) that I was over my carbs by quite a bit, I was still under 100g but definitely over the 20g I have allotted, but they were not planned. I just want to make sure that if I choose not to do this as I am not a bodybuilder and am not having energy issues it…

  • Make sure you have your fitbit and your mfp goals set to the same (ie: 1lb/wk). Also be sure to remember that Fitbit, unless you change the settings, will estimate the number of calories it thinks you are going to burn for the rest of the day based on the activity level you have already logged. So if you are very active in…
  • If you are in the hospital, why don't you ask a dietitian or physician what they think? They know your health better and will be the ones that are there should this plan of yours not work... Mathematically you are correct, If you eat 850-1100 a day and burn an additional 650-900 per day you would theoretically lose an…
  • For me: I pre-portion and weigh a bunch of veggies and nuts and cheeses, then bag them and write the weight on the bag. I keep them in a separate drawer in my fridge (basket in pantry for non-fridge snacks). If I feel like a snack that isnt planned, I grab one and log it.
  • It's a mix bag in my family. I wouldn't say they aren't supportive necessarily, just that they cast their judgement and tell me how to do things differently. For example I went to breakfast/brunch yesterday with family, ended up eating about 900 cals, which I determined I was fine with because I knew my dinner was only…
  • Haha thanks! Yes I did. I don't know where my mind was this morning!
  • It is also good for other health issues not just childhood epilepsy. Diabetics benefit greatly from it. IMO you should read more than one article about a diet or "eating style" before forming opinions and sharing them...

  • The Under Armour App ( if you use MapMyFitness or any of their Map Apps) will automatically link itself to MFP. I had to deactivate MapMyFitness because it kept messing up my adjustments. If you use one of the Under Armour apps to track your activity, then perhaps you are double logging it?
  • Avocado has a lot of healthy fat. Also coconut oil (well most of your oils tbh) will increase the fat on whatever protein you cook it in. pecans, almonds etc. are also great sources of fats. Be careful with nuts though because the carbs in them sneak up if you aren't watching your portions.
  • If you just started adding carbs back into your diet after being on Keto, could your body be holding onto more water than usual? Though after a month you would think it would even out... I would bet the people that say tighten up your logging are correct.
  • Mine swam 5 times before giving up... I switched to the Charge after that
