But I don't want to meet someone right now. This means getting hit on can only result in awkwardness. (Only way to find out if someone is off the market is to make your intentions known.) I definitely feel more body confident since I started working out, but I feel vulnerable in my gym clothes, sweating away. I would find…

Love your style. :D

Relationships impact on your emotions - and a lot of us have an emotional relationship with food. I don't see how that means we're calling ourselves victims or not taking responsibility - by admitting relationships impact on our eating, we're showing self-awareness. It's easy to confuse food with love by giving your…

I'd hate it. I picked my gym carefully to avoid running into people I know (e.g. colleagues) so I can be as relaxed as possible. If someone hit on me at my gym, it would make me feel awkward and you shouldn't feel weird at a gym. You should feel comfortable making a fool of yourself - hard to do that when you think there…

I recently went the gym after a giant meal and had an amazing workout, so I've started fuelling pre-run. I don't eat a lot, maybe half a bagel and some hummus, but I now always eat something. I think I'm gettiing better results.

I am so glad the other first timers seem to be aiming for a similiar time to me, I thought I was being too slow! So, yesterday I managed to do 30 minutes super slow running without stopping, then did faster running and walking for the last 15 minutes. I've never tried running so slowly before, but I think it was my best…

I'm doing a 5.6k in a week and a half. I'm just aiming to finish! Fastest time 45 minutes, but I'm training under wildly different conditions, so I have no idea if the actual race is going to be tougher/easier. I hope easier...

I spent roughly GBP 50 on a Panache sports bra. It's a great brand particularly if you have a large cup but a small back size. Absolutely love it, I can go running wuthout pain. And that's pretty damn special when you're large chested! To all the ladies wearing two bras, you need to invest in a proper sports bra. Two bras…

If I'm bored rather than genuinely hungry, I drink more water and I do something to distract myself. Whenever I've had a bad food day, I've always hung onto that fat feeling and weighed myself the next day, so I have that memory to consider next time I feel like doing similar. It does help. If you do ever fall off the…

I'm currently trying out vegetarianism - no real impact on my hunger levels, but I think my weight loss has stalled somewhat and I'm struggling to hit my protein macro. Any quick and easy tips for getting more protein into my diary? I'm always on the go, so I live off things like pre-prepared salad, hummus, etc. I have a…

Pretend it's not a buffet. Put a reasonable portion of the least bad foodstuffs on your plate and don't go back for more, even if everyone else does.

My boobs have stayed the same, but my back size has obviously dropped. Apparently if your back size size goes down, your cup size goes up too. I went down 2 back sizes and up 2 cup sizes. My new bras fit perfectly - to any larger chested ladies in the UK, I sincerely recommend Bravissimo. It looks like I've had surgery…

Every once in a while is fine. You just have to make sure you don't have too many 'bad' days next to each other, or you can undo the rest of the week's good work, and that can be demoralising. Wine tasting incidentally has never set me back. It's big meals out in non-chain restaurants which get me. I swear, some places…

Have you been doing any exercise thus far? I noticed the other day that my thighs feel firmer and more toned (I use the rowing, bike and cross trainer machines at the gym) and my chest is slightly perkier (I use the chest press machine too). I don't think the gym is speeding upmy weight loss, but I think it's helping me…

I split my dinner. If you think second breakfast is awesome, wait until you try second dinner. Doesn't matter when you eat, it's how much you eat, so you can quite comfortably have a midnight feast and keep losing weight. :)

Sounds like you've found your motivation, Bill! Way to go. I follow a calorie restricted diet - ideally I should look at all the nutritional information, but I dom't have time for that, so I count calories only. Obviously I don't binge on food that I know is high in fat, but I'm only tracking calories accurately. I've…

Try the 5:2 diet. Even on the 'fasting' days, you're not quite eating nothing. I don't think it's a long-term winner, but it can help you get your appetite in check.

If you really can't remember, why not write your feelings down? Then next time you're tempted, you can look at that list of regret and use it to motivate you.

That was me earlier this month, I feel your pain. But it was a good weekend, you made some new memories and most importantly, you are going to get back on the weight loss wagon, aren't you? So... This is only temporary. And that's okay. Don't beat yourself up about it, just focus on moving forward again!

Well, here's one which I have in common with all you guys over the pond... Cinnabon. We have that here too (UK) and the calorie and fat information is eye watering. We've stopped buying those as treats at work and the whole team looks thinner already.

It's difficult to see it on yourself as you see yourself every day. However... Even if I can't always see the weight loss, I can feel it. I definitely feel better in myself and that helps keep me going.

I weigh myself every day, but I can cope with fluctuations - not everyone can. For me, I find I get a more accurate picture. I can also assess whether a meal out means a temporary or permanent gain and decide whether I want to go back to that restaurant or not! ;)

Addicted to food? Certainly not alone. I would wager the majority of us have ended up here because we like food too much. You need to find your willpower. You say you want to get married in the next few years looking different - can you turn that into your motivating force? Without freaking out your boyfriend, maybe look…

At my induction, my trainer took my blood pressure to make sure I was safe to exercise. He had to do it twice as the first time it was too high to be safe because I was panicking at being in a gym. He was such a sweetheart though and calmed me down straight away. My trainer asked what I wanted to get out of going to the…

I'm the opposite, so my meals are later in the day. I don't have breakfast, but I get an early lunch and two evening meals instead. There may be normal times to eat, but it's more important to time your food around when you know you get hungry, as you'll just fall off the wagon otherwise. I'm guessing your routine has…

My trainer wrote a plan with me and drew pictures on it. At my gym, we have a pigeon hole system where all those written plans are kept. I pick mine up at the start of every session and put it back at the end. My workout is relatively simple, but I have to divert all brainpower to sticking with the exercise and not walking…

If you consume fewer calories, you'll lose weight. If those calories come from cake and pizza, and there are no fruit or veggies included, that's not very healthy. But what did you do before? Shovel everything and anything down your mouth, going way over your calorie allowance? That was worse. This journey is all about…

Doesn't happen to me, but I'm from the UK, and us Brits ***** behind people's backs, not in plain sight (and earshot). Maybe some people do think I shouldn't be in the gym. Sod 'em! I'm doing this for me! Actually, I've found people quite helpful, but all it takes is one idiot to completely knock you off your stride. The…

I genuinely don't think the timing of when you eat has any impact on your weight (I wouldn't be losing otherwise), rather it's what you eat. I tend to leave plenty of calories for late night so I can reward myself with treats then. When you're eating cake at 11, it doesn't feel like you're on a diet. ;) Trick is to plan…

Do you eat more on gym days? If so, do you just eat as extra what you think your workout has/will have burned off, or do you go higher than that? I can try to work in more protein - I only hit 15% yesterday, which won't have helped. I don't tend to eat a lot of meat, but I can work in more chicken without too much…
