  • Whoops, I meant to edit my post but ended up quoting it! *slinks away*
  • In my area, blueberries and avocados. I just can't afford a tiny baby box of blueberries for 4 bucks. . _. And avocados here are around 1.50 per fruit. o _o It's strange because I live in California, and we grow that stuff here to export to other states. Maybe my idea of "expensive" is different from other people's?
  • I've been super into jerky as my go-to snack, lately! I'm looking to try making my own turkey jerky this weekend! It may not be as dainty as a 100 calorie pack, but heck, when one serving is anywhere between 50-100 calories and jam-packed with protein, I don't really care how "manly" chewing on a meat stick makes me look!
  • Another thing I'd like to add: just do it! You will certainly learn as you go along, taking that you will stay consistent. c:
  • I'm not sure if this was sarcastic ... If it was a serious statement, please don't lump us all into one category and assume that none of us work hard to reach our goals. We already get enough people shaking their canes at us for being the generation that isn't able to get jobs, lives at home, etc...
  • I'm not sure if I'm more entertained by the fact that a 55 gallon of lube exists as an actual product or by the creative reviews.
  • So FLUFFY! I might just save that picture for future happiness.
  • Oh man, sorry that you had that experience in America! :c It certainly doesn't speak well of our mindset as a collective country, I suppose... Well, I guess you've already said it, they can keep all the things that come with living in America, haha.
  • Gosh, I'm going to go slightly off-topic, but I think I've been doing too much reading and writing for school. For some reason, I thought she was talking about donkeys? I'm going to agree with everyone talking about squats. They certainly helped me, even if I had only been using super light dumbells (no $$ for heavier…
  • Wow! This is an awesome topic! I'm still in university at the moment, but I am ITCHING to get out of the country! I am looking to do some teaching in South Korea to get some abroad experience. C: If I may ask, what are some reasons you guys have chosen to leave the US?
  • I like to skateboard, so when I hit my halfway point, I'm going to buy myself some new trucks! OP, perhaps you have an activity you really like and you have been wanting to upgrade your equipment (yoga mat, dumbells, cooking utensils, crafting, etc..)?
  • In for the responses! I have the same question! I've read on the forums that when you lose weight, you'll most likely lose some muscle?
  • Just back to quote this. I wish I had this perspective when I was 18! OP, if you're not a troll, it'd be wise to seriously think about what this person is saying. He's not being unreasonable or telling you off because you're young.
  • Like everyone else has said, life gets increasingly more difficult as you get older. It's been getting really tough for me to juggle my senior coursework (FINALS!), my part-time job, church responsibilities, and helping out at home. Luckily, I don't really have too much problems with eating nowadays, but sometimes, I just…
  • One of the things I've learned about myself is that I'm somewhere between a "tomboy" and a "girly-girl." My dad didn't believe in forcing gender roles upon me in the form of telling me what was "feminine" and what wasn't. He taught me to rollerblade, tinker with gadgets (taking them apart), play softball, and work with…
  • 1. I know what feeling full is like, now! 2. I found out that I can still eat what I like and not need to restrict. 3. I have met many inspiring people who are also doing this with me.
  • I want to read a book at the beach ... In a bikini! C:
  • Perhaps people don't think we look as bad as we think we do? Just today, I threw caution to the wind! I worked hard to lose the weight that I had so far, so I wore the tank top that I had been saving, even if I'm not "done" yet! And the cool thing is that I didn't get any weird stares from the people on campus. c:
  • Losing doesn't have to involve any form of self-torture. Give yourself a little time for some moderate exercise, about 30 minutes a day. This exercise doesn't have to be full-on running 3 miles a day. You could just go on a walk or do a home DVD. If you have a dog, you can even count those walks as exercise. Eat…
  • Ugh, it's pretty tough when the world is run by extroversion. I'm also an introvert and let me tell you, I get really tired after faking extroversion for an entire day just so I can be socially acceptable in certain situations! At one point, I was doing a leadership thing at school and I had to table and fake being an…
  • The way I slow down while eating is using a fork and knife in the continental style of eating and pretending that I'm fancy (I know this sounds silly). This means you keep your fork in your opposite hand and the knife in your dominant hand. You do not cut all your food at once. I try to cut small pieces so I can easily…
  • I'm not a high school student. I know how to change my own oil and tires. Also, I like to skate! I don't do anything too crazy, but carving down some slow hills is the best! I also know how to use most power tools in a woodshop.
  • Be ready to let go of any preconceptions surrounding what a "good diet" should be.
  • I feel you... u_u As soon as I turn down a cookie or something because I'm full or if I wanted to save my calories for something more satisfying, I get asked, "oh, so you're on a DIET now?" The confusion happens when I try to explain myself. I say, "I am watching what goes into my my diet," meaning, I don't eat crazy…
  • Haha, glad that's entertaining for you! I have a whole "pants graveyard" in my scrap sewing box. Every single pair has unfortunate rips in the crotch region. u_u Ugh, good riddance, thigh rubbing. Thank you to everyone for the encouragement! Let's all work hard together! C:
  • Same here! My BMR is at around 1200-something. GreatDepression, have you noticed that this thread has a variety of people at different stages? It's not just a big muscular guy doing this. We're all still losing and we're eating what we enjoy.
  • Uhm, I didn't start the challenge with everyone else, but I wanted to say that I include a little sweetness into my diet everyday. I am a bit of a sugar monster so I need to have a little bit everyday. Today, I had a huuuge cup (25 oz!) of 1/2 sweet boba milk tea! It was delicious. Now I'm hyped up on sugar and caffeine.…
  • I love this NSV! It gives me hope for my own struggles with how I view food! Thank you for sharing!
  • I generally eat what I want everyday! I always have a little bit of sugary stuff here and there because I really like sweets! I don't go nuts with the sugar. It usually looks like a small fun-sized candy bar or half a cookie. Something like that. I learned that I love eating! I can't restrict my diet because I like trying…
  • I have similar stats to you! c: If you want to add me, you are more than welcome to!
