Are you drinking enough water? If I don't drink at least 12 servings of water a day, I retain water weight very badly. It also could be your salt intake make you retain water. I would take your measurments, sometimes we lose inches but not pounds.

It's because they think you're hot, or they want to look like you, but I'm going with the first option. :)

To lose weight you do need to burn more calories than you take in, but not all of them. However you can do that by finding out your bmr (basic medibalic rate *don't judge my possible misspelling*) and then subtracting 500 from that and consuming that amount in calories.
