Yep 18 June 2016, Carlisle to Newcastle 69 miles. Why did I sign up for that, 26 miles was bad enough. More fortitude and training required.

You love a challenge and HM doesn't cut it anymore. Awesome work. 100 miles now that is pushing the boat out. The training plan for that is going to be awesome. Well done and once again you are an inspiration, running 47km as a pacer.

The c25k has 3 running days every week, so people refer to W(week) x then D(day) y. So the D refers to either the first, second or third running day of that particular week. In the early weeks when they all look the same, it makes no difference but when you get to week 5 you will see the difference. Week 5 normally freaks…

ROTFLMAO, I've got over it, it gives me more opportunity to beat it next time ;) Have fun

Thanks everyone. I have to keep on reminding myself about how far I have come, from a 20 stone (280lbs) guy (Feb 2014) who was morbidly obese and who could not run more than 2 minutes 16 months ago to someone who has a normal BMI, 6 stone lighter (84lbs) and can do a marathon. That's what made me well up on the finishing…

Register on Strava or Endomondo or any of the other running sites and you can plot your route. No need to rerun it, you can check it now. Sometimes the tech fails, you still did the run, rejoice that you got out and did it. Well done.

@moyer566 what a stunning location. :)

Boy, apologies for not being around much, so many interesting stories and successes, you guys are truly inspirational. Yesterday I popped my cherry on a full marathon and have put my thoughts here on a separate thread rather than pollute here http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10260138/robin-hood-full Will…

Sorry didn't see this come up. So I wear compression top when I run or bike, always, not so much for any advantageous compressive effects but more to get moisture away from the skin without it pooling in places. On top of that I wear a looser running top or snug cycling jersey. I only use compression calf sleeves for races…

@moyer566 Glad to see you've added lots of stretching, it does work even if it is not glamourous :) @taeliesyn do you think you have suffered a bit of the "central governor" effect. You have pushed your body into unknown territory and it has had a minor shutdown moment just so that you are not completely drained. Your body…

The advice you have got above is all good. But I would also check your seat position for height, fore aft position and finally the angle of the saddle. I would then go back and check them all again. And as you get more time in the saddle expect your flexibility to change and you may need to move things again. I doubled the…

@Just_Ceci you are such a great friend, helping out someone else with their 10k training, despite not overly enjoying it yourself. What a star you are o:) @PaytraB good going on mixing up your training and finding something that seems to be working for you. @maggiekat7 as you do more running you will get day(s) where it…
-
@taeliesyn it does not surprise me that you have had a poor run, the amount of running you have done recently makes me feel tired just looking at it. Your Strava feed looks as though it was a temporary blip @Just_Ceci nice work in the improvement in the 10k time especially given the conditions you report. Missed Tuesdays…

Welcome, have fun, post in the daily thread and remember it's about time on feet not speed. Good luck on your journey

Stiff today but coaching went ok, spent the afternoon trimming bushes and bamboo. Have got clearance from SWMBO to enter an offroad duathlon 5k run, 16k bike, 2.5k run during November. Should be fun!! Looking at last year, people came in pretty mucky.

Absolutely agree, over the last month I have been raising the saddle and pushing it back slowly. This weekend I've dropped the head down. Each time I feel better and stronger, some is due to more time on the bike, but some is getting more flexible riding a CX rather than a MTB. I would be interested seeing the difference…

It's the way I go, it also provides a first layer of wicking, it's just not that great on hot days so not really a problem in the UK :D

As per the programme, well done

Great story, assume a new one is one it's way. Glad that you are ok.

MM glad to read that you are back on the money @moyer566 it is always good to check with Strava etc. However you are doing brilliantly regardless of the score. Just think how far you have come. @maggiekat7 only 46 secs of breaking the hour mark, well done you, expecting that to crumble this month. Great work Despite the…

Just go out and enjoy it. No luck required. Have fun

Nice going everyone. Re running in the dark, I use a headtorch with variable illumination levels and a focusser. It allows me to have a wide beam or tight focus and dependant on the light levels be able to adjust how bright it is. I also tend to have some Nathan clip on flashing lights and a Nathan visibility vest. The…

Bridge to 10k, you know you want to run faster and longer!! More seriously enter a race or too, just to provide a purpose to your new found skill. They should be fun, join in with other people who are just as nervous about it as you. Have fun and well done on your progress.

@LLduds don't aplogise, keep posting it was makes the place, well done. @taeliesyn I have never seen such a stern and scary set of rabbit ears, methinks you look like outrunning zombies. Loved the report and you are such an asset to the Perth running scene. Gad your runs are working out too. Ride Tuesday happened and went…

Eat less, move more, it is a simple equation. If you can't run then walk, your desire to change your circumstance must be greater than desire to stay the same. We cannot motivate you but we can help you if you post on the daily thread. Just don't do the overdoing it thing, it nevers works, and puts you back in a worse…
-
@LLduds nice time glad you were pleased @Just_Ceci 10 minute miles are not to be sniffed at. As you say proper hydration and fueling would have helped you. Well went out and did a 25mile ride on Saturday on a disused railway track (converted to cycleway) to a country park and back. Pleasant and peaceful. It allowed to…

WOW, one would be good around here!!

You know that you are a runner for sure when the programme says run, the weather says not but you do it anyway. Well done for getting out but please be safe, personal endangerment is not worth it, there is always tomorrow!!
