Way to go! You look great! I wish you continued success!!!!

My husband occasionally cooks and it is not the type of food I can eat much of! When I started on MFP I would delicately suggest sides to go with his dishes. Then I would eat mainly those (vegetables) and SMALL portions of his food. After a year and a half and almost 90 pounds, he is much more aware of my restrictions and…

2 today: 1. Decided the 40F bra was uncomfortable b/c it was too big. Also decided that the 38DDD was too big and had to go also. Loving the 36s I got on clearance!!!!! 2. I've been running 3-4 miles since April. Today is the first day I've had an average of 12 minute miles for the whole entire run! 11 minute miles, here I…

I use real butter, except for on my toast - I use the butter/canola oil blend b/c it spreads straight from the fridge. But I weigh my butter and butter/canola ... then I KNOW how much I am using!

Ok, back to the 36 or 38 ATP question -- I've worked on educational materials related to cellular respiration and the reason there is a difference is b/c when the electrons from our food are carried into the inner mitochondrial membrane, there are 2 types of electron carriers: NADH and FADH2. If NADH carries the electrons…

Laying on my stomach is more like focusing all my weight on my hip bones and lower ribs... where did those bones come from????

I ran 4 miles yesterday. And I am planning on doing it again tomorrow!

Went for a walk and met up with a very fit friend. My walking speed before meeting her was 18 minute miles. After it was 14 minute miles and I was able to keep up quite nicely thank you very much (I "run" at 12-13 minute miles).

OP - I was you a year ago, almost. I had been walking for a month or so and just wanted to burn more calories! So I went to the back of a storage facility where no one could see me and started counting how many garage doors I could run past. It was pitiful distance. Like less than 5. All summer long I would take walks and…

Good for you! I started C25K in January and was able to go the distance by April-ish (I don't remember the date!). I ran in my first official 5K May 30! It is a great program. As it gets more difficult and more running, you will probably want to do every other day. Also, a good sports bra is an investment!!! Buy it a…

When you go for a run in chilly weather and cold air RUSHES up your sleeves b/c your jacket is too floppy! When your boobs are a totally different shape because your bra is ridiculously large. AND when your friend looks at your chest and tells you that you need a new bra! When you look down at what was formerly a cute…

For me, the ultimate reward is new socks. I just love them... weird, I know. But... you gotta know what little things you love and socks that have never been washed, I just love them. Other good things: use great smelling lotion only when you "need" a reward, nail polish, flowers, burn a great smelling candle, also... I…

Deli turkey, an apple, raw veggies, laughing cow white cheddar wedge with 5 pretzel spoons, sugar free jello, a piece of chocolate; all this for usually 300 calories or less.

Put on my running clothes this morning and wondered who replaced my full length mirror with a trick/house of mirrors/ skinny mirror. It took a minute for me to realize that is my same old mirror and that is what I actually look like in my exercise clothes. I think I still have a fat brain.

You can check out my profile page, I have them laid out there. Honestly, they were more helpful initially. Now I like to look back and see how far I've come, so I like that I dated them once I earned them. Now my goals are more fluid... like buy clothes whenever I find something cheap or when I have nothing that fits. Or…

You can do this! You can add me if you'd like; I've eaten ~1500 calories for about a year and lost ~80 pounds. My diary is open to my friends if you want to see what I eat. I started exercising with a stationary bike, then went to walking, then riding a real bike, then jogging, and now I can jog over 3 miles. This site is…

Agree with small goals. My #1 concern is the end of the day (that is where MFP is genius). My #2 concern is the end of the week (that is weigh day). I have also set up 5 pound rewards that were really helpful in the beginning, but seem less important to me now. I've lost 80 pounds and have about 40-60 to go. And if I look…

Lately, I've struggled with some of the ridiculous mental stuff that goes along with weightloss: 1. I sold my entire wardrobe (several times over) of clothes size 16 -26 through a local FB group. Buyers were all curious how I lost the weight and referred to me as "skinny". Really? I am still overweight, people. But I…

Sugar free jello! Seriously? 10 calories for a half cup (so I have a whole cup!). And then I add light Cool Whip, I can have a big delish treat that tastes like loads of sugar for 50 calories! Oddly enough, I usually don't eat "fake" food. (I hesitate to say clean, but I really am into eating food that I make from real…

Honestly, I found a few replacement drinks that I like (fruit flavored seltzer water, crystal light), and drank more water. Then, when I really "need" a treat, I drink one of those "10" sodas (currently enjoying an A&W 10 right now). They seem like a treat b/c I LOVE them, but don't bust the calorie bank. Also, when my…

Every summer I freeze loads of vegetable soup! When I make the big batches I enter them into the recipe builder and then all through the fall/winter/spring I can easily retrieve the # of calories per serving! It is a really good way to roll!

Coffee is my unrestricted pleasure. I made it free. I don't count the 5 calories per cup (I like it BLACK!) and I drink as much as I want. And I buy the good stuff. It is my freedom and joy when I feel like other "treats" are restricted. It has worked wonders!

I drink all weekend long (water, not wine!). And at night. And during the summer. During the school year, it gets crazy busy and there have been days I have neither drank nor peed for 8 hours. Luckily, my kidneys have not retaliated, but several of my colleagues have had kidney stones; I wonder if there is a correlation?

My garden is bigger than my house. Literally. And that doesn't include the fruit trees, grapevines, etc... I have container gardened as well. You can add me if you like.

THIS: http://www.annies-eats.com/2012/10/01/apple-cinnamon-baked-oatmeal/ I make it on Sundays (a half batch), then eat a portion each day (I'm a teacher too and I am usually full most of the morning)! The combo of steal cut oats and old fashioned makes it a very different texture. Just reheat it with a bit of milk! PLUS,…

Totally! Look at your side, like if you were going to outline yourself. You have definitely slimmed down! Nice work!!! You can do it!!!!

That used to happen to me too. You are doing nothing wrong! Give it a while and see if that changes for you. I don't exactly remember when it changed for me. I don't really get an endorphin high, more like, stress relief now. I guess perhaps a bit of a runner's high after I've gone 2 miles. Also, be sure you are drinking…

Congratulations!

Week 5. No way did I think I could run for that long with no walking break. But I just kept telling myself that it is all mental. I can do it. And I did!
