I had a great day today! a jog, a walk, (6.25 miles) and a garden session Husband showed me that my iphone has a step (elevation) counter on it. I rarely carry it in my pocket, but I will give it a whirl tomorrow and see how it works! We have a 2 level house and a set of stairs that leads from our 2nd floor walk out to our…

So.... any apps that will track steps? I dread the thought of counting stair steps on vacation!

@rusgolden -- Good job running in the heat! I decided to forego running this weekend-- today at least; husband is working in the mornings and I'm not ready to leave the girls home alone while I run along a country road; him being home gives me peace of mind in case I am hit by a car... or a tractor, or a cow. Or die of…

Ok, finished Zumba -- I think I hate Zumba, but I did it. Then I drank all kinds of water today and had to break my ban on public bathroom use -- once at daughter's softball game (so it was at a park; one step up from portapotty), and once at creepy gas station. I hope we represent well -- I used public facilities twice…

Oh god. Just finished Zumba. I have no inner Latin beast- thanks for reminding me of this, Amazing Race!

6 people left on my list, just sent friend requests. @angavai @BirdParrott @Dnarules @fieldnicole184 @iheartcookies2 @KatKat1209 Today, I'm trying those Zumba videos. Alone. In my basement. With the curtains drawn.

Good morning, hope you all have a great day!

#1, you don't look anywhere near 40 -- you look young!! #2, I turned 40 almost 2 months ago. And older friend told me that 20s were terrible, 30s were better, and 40s were GREAT. My mission is to prove her right! At 39 I started to focus on my fitness and honestly, I FEEL better at 40 than I ever did at 30. Good luck in…

That moment when a former student doesn't even recognize you! -- and this happened twice in one weekend.

I began losing without exercise and now I don't think that I could have continued losing without exercise. Exercise increased my energy level throughout the day even though I was eating at a deficit. I lost 20 pounds without much exercise, I've lost almost 70 with it.

On my most successful days I try to eat half my breakfast at home, then pack the rest of my breakfast, lunch, and a snack for work. Eating more often has helped me. Also, related, if I REALLY just want something to eat, I give myself TOTAL PERMISSION to eat something... in an hour. By then then urge has passed, usually, or…

You just made my morning!

Been there. I tried on a thousand sports bras. I jumped in the dressing room and finally found one that worked. It took a lot of trial and error. My first bra was a rather ugly one from Lane Bryant. My second one (and my favorite) was an expensive molded rubber thing from a sporting goods store; the only one that hasn't…

Awesome. Congratulations! I'm stealing your last line! I'm 89 pound smarter!

Gold. All of his work is gold. I've read his every word and seen him speak once. Omnivore's dilemma is my favorite.

20 minutes circuit training.

Anything with sucralose in it! I've never purposely bought it, but I bought a new kind of yogurt and didn't read the label. One bite and I knew. I had throw the whole huge container out. And then I accidentally bought sugar free pancake syrup (REALLY? They make that? WHY?). I tasted one drop, knowing it would be bad and…

Thanks so much for sharing! This really helped me by reaffirming that my goal is reasonable!

I am a high school teacher, I taught a kid as a freshmen 2 years (and 92 pounds ago). We would see each other in the hall his sophomore year as I was losing, but I didn't ever talk to him. He saw me this year during homecoming and just looked me up and down and up and down. "Mrs. F... did you get a hair cut?" "No, it…

I am not obese. I am overweight! First time in over 20 years!

Be honest with yourself. You can't cheat on yourself!

Initially I just counted up walking minutes and jogging minutes and entered them separately with estimates of pace. Whenever outside I use Map My Walk to give me a better gauge of pace.

Any spots left? I am interested!

You are awesome! Great work! You are worth it!

That is pretty fantastic! Way to go!

I've lost 90, one day at a time. You can do it! Just worry about today and tomorrow will take care of itself.

Honestly, I just started making small improvements. I was shooting for 1 pound a week, and in the first summer I lost 10 pounds a month. I was thinking positive, having hope, working hard, and being honest. The litmus test? Was I tempted to cheat? Because 'before' I always was tempted, and was never successful. This time,…

Yes. I have lost 90 pounds eating 1500 for the most part. Over time my loss has slowed, but slow and do-able is far better than impossible, miserable, and giving up. Exercise 3-4 times per week; find something you enjoy doing, compete with yourself, keep a positive outlook!

I'm a bit farther along than you, I've been here 1.5 years, lost 90ish pounds; a few dozen more to go. I teach HS and am hoping the new school year ahead will be the one in which I reach my goal weight! Add me if you'd like.
