1/2 cup of Rice Dream Gelato (Salted Caramel) and 2 T of almond butter. Why? I ran a mile in 10 minutes and felt like eating something. The Rice Dream is something I've never tried before, seeing if I like it. It's overly sweet, which is why I added the almond butter, to balance it out.

\\ Agreed. I'm allergic to wheat so the fried chicken is out for me, sadly, but the waffle fries are a must. They're the whole reason I go.

I like the Market Salad with a side of grilled chicken nuggets. I skip the lemonade (even though it is awesome) because the sugar sends me into overdrive, but I get a small order of waffle fries. Dangit, now I want Chik Fil A....

I think it's maybe a cultural thing? I don't know where you're from; I was a little American girl and horses were always in the "pet" category, like cats and dogs, where I'm from. But it was explained to me that in France, they don't have the land neccessary to raise cattle, but horses are easier to raise for meat. When…

I ate horse meat when I was a kid staying in France. I didn't know it was horse meat, there was this roast that showed up about three times a week. My parents had sent me alone to France to stay with this family, and I was a polite kid, so I ate what was put in front of me. I couldn't figure out what this meat was. It was…

I found my food budget went down when I started MFP simply because I was eating less. And eating less candy and junk food. Junk food is expensive for what you get I base my diet around Greek yogurt, eggs, chicken breasts bought in bulk (for protein), vegetables and fruits (in season--don't buy asparagus in winter or…

When I had to borrow my husband's belt to keep my size 16 shorts on, and they kept getting looser and looked just baggy, I tried on my size 14 shorts that I had bought for motivation. NSV today, they fit! Size 14 is something I haven't seen for about nine years. I'd say when they're baggy enough you need a belt, or they…

Fat free cottage cheese is nasty. Get the regular kind, or the lighter version, but never ever fat free. Even so, it's high in sodium (I understand Breakstone's makes a lower sodium cottage cheese, but I've never tried it), so I haven't had any in a long time. OTOH, I love Trader Joe's fat free Greek yogurt. Mix that with…

This, exactly. It happened, I think, when I hit 15 pounds lost? I started at 183 and am now at 157 (and am 5'8" tall). My goal is 140.

I have to take issue with the "babies always do better on breast milk." That is not true across the board. There are many possible factors. My SIL has breastfed all of her children, and they have difficulty putting on weight and have mulitple food allergies and health issues. Would they be worse on formula? Who knows. But…

NAILED IT. I tried Weight Watchers, South Beach, paleo and the like. But I eventually got bored with the food and I skimped on exercise, so I didn't see results. And I convinced myself that I was a special snowflake who just couldn't lose weight. Plus, women always have a harder time losing weight, right? Then I decided to…

Thawed frozen berries (I nuke 1/2 cup in the microwave for 1 1/2 minutes), mixed with chia seeds (about 1/2 T) and let sit for a while, to gel. Then I mix it with plain nonfat Greek yogurt, and top with my favorite cereal. The berries and chia turn into a jam of sorts, so the yogurt doesn't get watery. This is my breakfast…

First of all, congratuIations! 40 pounds is awesome in four months! Now, is your mom overweight? She could be feeling like your weight loss is a judgement on her. Or, if she's always been thinner or considered herself in better shape than you, she could be feeling threatened. When I was a child, my mom was constantly on…
