I hate bananas but I think I'll try this with yoghurt and mango puree instead of the banana.

You referred to a drug-using bodybuilder's looks as proof that heavy squatting is useless. That's why you train and work your way up to the heavy weights, and why form is always more important than weight. If you use a weight that's too heavy for you, you're doing it wrong and any subsequent injury is not because heavy…

They give estimations of range of calories burned for every video on their website (there's a link in the description on the youtube videos) and MFP lets you enter custom exercises.

This. I just looked at three days and also noticed that you measure sugar, margarine and peanut butter, for example, in spoons, and cheerios and your bran flakes in cups, which is highly inaccurate. Weigh everything and log the correct entry in grams.

You forgot to mention drug use. Also heavy squatting (and lifting in general) serves far more purposes than aesthetics. A bunch of people already stated that squatting alone without a rack or cage isn't a good idea. The point missing from your statement is that heavy squats increase the risk of injury when performed…

Check out fitnessblender.com. They have hundreds of (free) videos that also include an estimation of range of calories burned. I always logged the lowest estimation while I was following their workouts (to avoid overestimating since I'm a short-ish and not obese woman) and it worked well for me.

Sounds a lot like water retention. Are you using any hormonal contraceptives? Or, if you're not, you could be in the luteal phase of your cycle (post-ovulation). I think retaining water in your breasts sound much more like hormonal water retention than exercise related.

It's called Photoshop...

That sounds yummy, will definitely be trying it!

Tagging to hear some input on that as well.

Meh, I'd love to be more involved during the next term but guess I'll have to wait until current students can apply ;)

I used to do Capoeira before I moved and LOVED it.

Thanks again! I waited with replying until after I actually did them to see if I have any follow-up questions. But I think it's much clearer to me now :)

I'm gonna agree with the people who said ENJOY it, especially if you've never had Indian food! The best thing about good Indian food is that you can actually taste all the different spices—if it's just hot, you should try another place. My favourite would probably have to be Biryani, either with lamb or chicken. The place…

Thanks heybales and SS! I actually enjoy lifting the bar so I do plan to use it for OHPs as well once I'm strong enough. I guess it makes sense then to start imitating proper form for those already with the DBs. Just a quick follow-up question: My elbows should then be on the sides slightly in front of my torso in the…

Not BombshellPhoenix (obviously), but you can find AllPro's routine here: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=155009423&page=1

This. And this. Also, and please note that I haven't done any additional research on this, according to Bret Contreras at least, excessive ab/oblique training can make your waist look broader, which I'm assuming is not what most women strive for.

If you still look good working out, you're doing it wrong :drinker:

Somewhere around 18–20% is my goal. I'm currently around 28–30% I guess.

Yes! Send soldiers with ice cream -> world peace is coming! I can help! Just send it all here!!

Wait. Ben&Jerry's make cheesecake brownie ice cream!? AND I just had a look at their US website, they make so much more flavours than they sell in Europe. Why won't they sabotage us more!??

This!! Be kind to your body.

I suppose it also has a lot to do with an assumption of people's laziness - who wouldn't love for less effort to give the best results? I was actually surprised you hadn't heard that before since it's such a common assumption (we even learned it in school! :noway: )

Thanks as well to n3ver3nder. Elevating my heels did not make noticeable difference. I did try Bulgarian split squats, however, and while they reduced my legs to jelly, they also felt much more natural somehow than regular squats or box squats. And my knee was fine with them this time. My gym also doesn't have any boxes or…

All of this! Plus: As far as I understand it, your body will always use carbs/glycogen before fat because it's much easier for the body to burn. So if you start out with a low effort and keep to that, your body might never actually go beyond using up its glycogen stores. Then you'll have burned less overall calories AND…

Thanks for the feedback! There is literally zero mobility in my ankle in that direction and very little in the other one. It's due to a congenital issue and there's absolutely nothing I can do about it unfortunately. I already use a wide stance and point my toes outwards. I've tried elevating my heels for the goblet squat…

I'd like to add to the Mark Lauren recommendation. I also did look at your diary for the last three days and have two points: The main one would be that it doesn't seem like you actually weigh all your food, right!? In that case you're probably eating more than you think. Get a food scale and weigh everything you put in…

First time posting here and feeling a little weird about it but I need help with my squat. I have pretty much zero ankle mobility on my right food and that can't be changed. I've been lifting for two months now and my squat has progressed the least. I started with goblet squats, which you can see at…
