We're just barely above the poverty line with both of us working full time, but with rent going from 550 to 950 a month, we've had to cut back on quite a bit of necessities. We have a small garden that isn't technically allowed, ( 3 plant pots, one for peppers, one for tomatoes and one for onions) but this year has seen a…

I live in Alberta, Canada. My aunt (24 at the time) lost almost 100lbs and they took the excess skin off her for free after she kept the weight off for a year. I'm not too sure if they still do it (I believe she donated it to be used for burn victims, if that means anything), but I truly hope so for if I need it when I…

@Sinisterly Loves cartoons just as much as me @tpgordonn Has a awesome beach house (I'm jealous) @takestolong May possibly be too young to be thinking of more than grades and what she wants to be when she grows up... either that or she's VERY young looking :D

Doesn't muscle weigh more than fat? If you're weight training, you would be gaining muscle, correct? I honestly am not worrying about how much I "weigh", but how good I'm feeling and that I'm not going to be in size 22 clothes anymore...

I'm 5'3", 210 atm and looking at being 135-140. I've been working at staying under my calorie intake (before I would literally eat anything I wanted anytime I wanted) and am hoping to add some exercises when I'm actually able (I have bad ankles, bad hip that needs replaced and am not very flexible). I'm really hoping to…

Considering while you're pregnant you have at least 2 Dr's (at least in a non-third world country), and I had 3 and they all agreed and promptly put me on nutrition drinks, I doubt you're correct.

When talking to a Dr. they still consider you to be starving yourself of nutrients. You may want to call it something else, but its still considered starving yourself. That is where I was 2 years ago when I was 220lbs (mostly due to the fact I had no money and was living on ramen noodles 3 times a day, 7 days a week while…

In human nutrition, the term empty calories applies to food that supplies food energy but little or no other nutrition. The phrase is derived from nutrient density (proportion of nutrients in a food relative to its energy content), and calorie density (amount of energy relative to weight of the food). Thus empty calories…

I do agree that you are too young to be thinking about losing weight. Unless you're completely obese, you should be thinking about going outside to play and selling lemonade during the summer...I am so sorry that you have lost your childhood.

I've seen lots of fat starving people. Its mostly because they eat empty calories that have no nutritional value at all and therefore have to eat more to feel full. Your body is still starving, but you're still getting fat from the empty calories that are there.
