  • Awesome! Thanks for starting this. The Easter group was so motivating! I hope more of them hop on here too! SW 163 CW 144.8 GW 125 20 lbs less is pretty much exactly where I want to be for my goal weight. I know if may take longer than the 4th of July though. I only lost 15 lbs during the 20 lbs by Easter challenge. But…
  • Final update as well. I also only lost 15 lbs for this challenge. I'm still down 17 total though since I came back to MFP at Christmas. Not too shabby I think!! This was definitely a great challenge, and fun checking in every week. Congrats to all who lost something during this challenge, because really you've all won!! =)
  • Awesome job! :D And amazing progress! Can't wait to see more people post their updates since we are so close to Easter now! My weekly weigh in is tomorrow, and then I'll try to weigh again Sunday morning to see then too!
  • Chamomile or Peppermint are my go to teas.
  • Excellent progress! You've got this! Couldn't agree more!! I won't reach my goal, but I'm close and a heck of a lot closer than I was at the beginning of the year. And I can be very proud of that!
  • Meijer and Kroger mainly, Indiana here. The new Kroger Marketplaces popping up around here are AWESOME!
  • SW: 163.0 CW: 145.4 GW: Easter 141.2 GW: ultimate 125.0 Getting closer! 4.2 lbs to go.
  • First off, @zyxst <3 the Richard pic Second, I've had luck with the Lee and Gloria Vanderbilt brands at Kohl's. They are mid rise and fit well in the waist and my huge thighs! The Sweetheart from Old Navy have too much room in the front like there's too much material there. I just wish I could find a skinny jean that fit…

  • SW: 163.0 CW: 146.6 GW: Easter 141.2 GW: ultimate 125.0 Down 1.2 lbs this week. Just over 5 lbs to go by Easter! 19 days! It's still a lot to lose in that amount of time, but I think I'll get very close. We're almost there. And then we'll need a "Lose 20 lbs by 4th of July" challenge or something like that! ;)
  • All of this!! I'm on week 5 of Stronglifts 5x5. And all I can say is I wish I had started sooner. We've had this equipment in our garage for a year. I should have started then! I started walking daily at the beginning of this year. I was walking 3-4 miles a day every day in January, and I had one knee hurt all the time. I…
  • I second (or third or fourth) bodyweight exercises. Google it. Burpies, squats, planks, pushups, chair dips, leg lifts, etc. There are tons of options, and no equipment to buy. Plus you can do them anywhere.
  • Did your husband explain his reasoning behind that opinion? Heavy lifting is going to build stronger muscles and improve endurance because those stronger muscles will take longer to get tired. You aren't going to bulk up especially with that kind of cardio burn. I'd say there's definitely another explanation for the 8lb…
  • I've been doing Stronglifts 5x5 for just over a month now. Since all the equipment is in my garage and it's winter, 5-10 min of cardio is a must to actually warm me up. I run, jog, skip rope in place as well as jumping jacks then move on to some dynamic stretching. Then the 5x5 warmups of empty bar + building up the weight…
  • Thank you! You can too! I find the more I check in here, the more I hold myself accountable, and the better I do! Also, I took measurements yesterday for the beginning of the month, and I lost 3 inches last month. Progress is happening!
  • SW: 163.0 CW: 148.2 GW: Easter 141.2 GW: ultimate 125.0 Haven't updated in a while, but this is my weigh in for March 1st. 7 lbs to go by Easter. It's a lot to lose in just a few weeks, but I'm going to do my best! I really want to make this goal!

  • Exactly! Heck I'm sure their backpacks weigh more than the tiny weights! I know my son's does when I catch him taking 4 hardback books to school in it! And he's only 8. My father in law gave him a set of 1 lb weights because he enjoyed watching him work out. I see nothing wrong with it and they definitely lose interest…
  • I find I personally do best if I keep my carbs below around 60-70 grams per day. I did Atkins years ago with great success, but maintaining the low carb levels it calls for can be difficult, and although I almost always felt full...I still felt deprived! I think the biggest thing when doing a low carb way of eating though,…
  • I went back to 2011 when I started, and my diary entries show up with what I logged. You should be able to see everything!
  • MFP SW: 163.0 SW Challenge: 161.2 CW: 147.2 GW: Easter 141.2 GW: ultimate 125.0 6 pounds to go!! I'm so happy with this! I feel like I've made changes I can stick with. I'm not ruling out any foods and am not letting myself feel bad about enjoying my favorite foods even if it means I went over calories like I did tonight.…
  • I prefer my home weigh-ins to be naked, first thing in the morning after using the bathroom! Gets the best results. Unfortunately I think the doctor's office probably frowns upon this. What we're you wearing? This time of year with bundling up and layers, clothes and shoes weigh a lot. So take that into account! I…

  • Join a challenge. Either on here or with a group of friends. Being accountable to someone else can be helpful motivation. Setting up a reward system can be as well, such as rewarding yourself after doing so many workouts or losing a certain number of pounds. Set goals. Also, even though someone mentioned laying out your…
  • We've owned P90X for years, and although I've started it many times, I've never gone more than about halfway through. On occasion I will still pull out Cardio-X or Kenpo-X because I do enjoy both of those workouts. What others have said though is correct. They are longer workouts, although Cardio-X is the shortest at…

  • Most will say as long as you are eating at a caloric deficit, you will lose weight. Exercising (mainly cardio) is for burning a few extra calories, allowing you to consume more. If you are breastfeeding, I'd be careful not to eat at too low a deficit and make sure you are getting sufficient fluids to keep up your supply.…
  • Pepperoni chips (microwave pepperoni slices for ~45-60 seconds until crisp) or cucumber slices. The pepperonis are good for when you are craving that salty crunch, and the cucumber slices hold up well to a dip and since there isn't much flavor in them you can use them with just about any dip/cheese you like. I like to eat…
  • Well, I rechecked this morning and I was up 0.2 lbs, so definitely no loss this week. First week since I started just before the first of the year I haven't lost anything. I knew it would slow down, but I didn't think I would have a week I just didn't lose anything. I must keep focused though, because this is not a…
