What, exactly, makes you think that a liquid diet "detoxifies" you? Where did that idea come from?
-
I think your issue isn't that yoibdont like certain foods... It's that you still see certain foods as inherently bad.
-
I go face-first directly into the bowl.

Wait what?

Thank you. I'm still curious about the actual question you responded to by invoking my diary, though. What were you referring to getting "totally out of your system"?
-
No. The threads devolve into people ripping apart the claim that "clean" is in some way better. The threads fall apart when someone says that sugar is bad for you, or that fast food is bad for you. No one rips apart eating clean food. People do, however, rip apart the silly claims people make about the superiority of clean…

It's tough to answer the question about "why the rude remarks" if you can't identify any of the remarks in question. In 100% seriousness, the vast, vast majority of negative comments that are directed at specific foods are directed at either fast food or foods high in added sugar. I literally get comments every day on MFP…

They might not be sweatpants. Who knows. :)

Yes. She is in a calorie deficit and does light resistance training, according to her profile. I looked at a few random days of her diary and she appeared to be getting around 50g/day. So maybe tripling protein isn't necessary, more like doubling. I was thinking on the order of 130-150g a day, depending. But then again she…

OP, what are you wearing here?
-
Negative comments about what? No one makes negative comments about eating broccoli or chicken breast or whatever. Who is telling you to try donuts and pizza? Who cares if you prefer cauliflower to cheese?
-
So can you be clear? What were you referring to getting "totally out of your system" in the quote? "Sugar is in almost everything processed including savory foods so it's a challenge to get it totally out of your system."
-
So you're talking about getting fructose "totally out of your system"? Is that right? BTW, you'd do well to just about triple your protein intake if you want to lose fat mass instead of lean mass. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24092765 http://www.jissn.com/content/3/1/7

You can't get sugar totally out of your system. The human body manufactures sugar. It has a number of highly complex, sensitive systems in place to maintain sugar levels in the blood. If you got sugar totally out of your system, you would die instantly because your cells would starve.
-
No one cares whether you want to eat donuts or a pizza.
-
The body does not store fat while in a calorie deficit.

All choices are shamed in one way or another. Foods commonly seen as "unclean" like fast food, ice cream, Pop-tarts, etc, are often demonized on the forum. Foods commonly seen as "clean" aren't really demonized, but arguments arise when people tell others that they should eat clean. Clean means something different to…

Who me? Why would having stable blood sugar be important for weight loss? I'm quite sure my blood sugar increases significantly after meals. Which is normal. And I seem to be doing OK.
-
In all seriousness, saying "I eat clean" on the forums is highly problematic, because it means vastly different things to different people. I'd suggest saying something more specific, such as "I eat only whole foods" or "I avoid foods that have preservatives and added sugar" or whatever.

Oh dear.

Cardiac arrest is even more likely to occur when you get hit by lightning. So what? Someone, dunno if it was you, said "heroin withdrawal can't kill you."
-
Indeed. I've learned things in this thread. People who actually care about "clean" food seem uninterested in Quest bars and this advertising campaign. Instead, they seem to be going after people who have no real opinion one way or another about the word "clean" or "clean food" but may be intrigued by the healthy-sounding…

Know what separates the successful people from the failures? The successful people don't need motivation. They get up and do it anyway even when they really, really don't want to and have zero motivation. Forget this "motivation" BS and get some discipline.
-
I have no definition of clean eating. I've stated many times all over the forum that the very concept of "clean" food makes no sense.
-
Yeah, I noticed that too. Apparently it means the same thing as net carbs, but sounds much cooler. It implies that the rest of the carbs are "inactive" and that the carbs you are getting are "active," implying they're doing something good for you.
-
So the question remains... do people actually consider them clean? Apparently the answer is no.
-
I'm not sure what the distinction is, but you're the only one talking about "the clean eating community" or "clean eaters." Quest isn't using those terms and I'm not using those terms so I'm not sure why you're using them. I'll just leave that be. I'm not asking if they're targeting those groups. I asked if people consider…

A thread which got locked because it was intentionally divisive and baiting. Anyway, I find it genuinely interesting that Quest is fairly heavily marketing their products as "clean" but no one, even on MFP, appears to be willing to characterize them that way.

Psssst. That post was a joke.
