  • I would agree with this. I find that contractors that work on houses that I visit are the best... they have some muscles, but have a little fluff, too, and are kind of scruffy and slightly dirty but in the "I was working hard today" way, not the "I never shower" way. Especially if they are in sweatshirts and jeans. Which…
  • SO true. My mom was a stay at home mom. We had really good well balanced meals. I don't think I had Hamburger Helper until I was 18 and bought my own and brought it home to try. I'm still pretty thankful for that. Plus my mom was always good about her portion sizes, although she didn't necessarily teach us the same. But my…
  • I feel this is an unfair statement. 150 pounds on a 5'3'' is just fine if she's muscular - the number on the scale doesn't mean as much as people make it out to mean.
  • This, too. People are not properly educated and have no idea what they are eating. My favorite example was my sister - she told me once "I just don't get it! I have been eating Chex Mix for two weeks and virtually nothing else, and I've gained 5 pounds!" I just stood there open mouthed. She continued "It's the whole grain…
  • I hate when people blame it on laziness. I am self-employed. I'm a crazy busy self-employed person turning clients down left and right. I work with my kids some days and am on the road until 6 or 7 PM from early in the morning. The days without the kids I pick them up around 4, but usually have to go home to open the…
  • Oh, and for my opinion - I prefer guys with a sincere smile and laugh lines. That gets me every time over anything else.
  • You have no idea how badly I was hoping to then see that you responded this way to every girl that posted here. I am certain I would have fallen over giggling.
  • I love fast food. I love chemicals that are banned in other places. And I'm not going to fret about only eating things that are uncontaminated, because it's virtually impossible. Also, I've decided that too much of anything causes cancer, so it's not worth stressing about. And during prime time season, I will plop my butt…
  • Had a reduction. I am SO GLAD I did. I have never ever had a second of regret.
  • I've learned an important lesson in the last year. I'm fairly certain my husband and I have totally different definitions of "hot" women. That doesn't mean that he doesn't like ME. (Even though it appears that my "type" is realistic of what my body can be, and his is, well.... not.) But if I were to focus on creating the…
  • I started with 1,200 calories a day (thanks MFP). I didn't lose a single tenth of a pound of weight. My husband was dropping like crazy. I was devastated. After a few months, I went through two weeks where I wasn't tracking very well, or going over and not caring. I would be around 1,500 calories a day. After two weeks…
  • When I was skinny, Subway. After I gained weight (and now!) - Taco Bell. Nachos Bellgrande, baby. 770 calories of disgusting goodness.
  • Zack and Miri Make a Bacon. The Invention of Bacon. The Bacon Side.
  • I'm going to go with the same number as the number of days (not weeks) in this quote: "I know we've only known each other four weeks and three days, but to me it seems like nine weeks and five days. The first day seemed like a week and the second day seemed like five days. And the third day seemed like a week again and the…
  • I'm willing to interact with new friends anytime. Original high weight - 220-230? SW on MFP - 205 approx. Current weight - 148 I bike, I have done multiple rounds of punishment a la Jillian, and I refuse to eliminate things I love. (Wine, Taco Bell, Fun Dip, for a few examples) I also am susceptible to the occasional sushi…
  • My goodness. That would be enough motivation for me to start lifting heavy - just so I could return and junk punch them.... with a huge ol' weight in my hand.
  • I felt that way when I first started. But I quickly learned I was being realistic. And whether it was too few calories or just my sheer hatred, I was miserable, I hated every day, and I wasn't losing weight. When I eased up a bit and started eating 1,450 calories, it got better. Now I'm close to goal, and I'm not crushed…
  • I wash every other day for the most part, unless I have to do it for some reason. And I use John Frieda Full Repair shampoo and conditioner. It's a little heavy, but my hair straightens SOOOOO nice with it, less frizzy, less breakage... just love it.
  • Oh, and hi. You're kind of an asshat. I have two kids, work MORE than full time, and my house is perpetually a mess as it is. I would like to see you, when given the choice, reduce your 5-6 hours of sleep a night to 4-5 to get in a workout. (Plus shower, etc.) Not everyone is just making excuses. It's hard to take care of…
  • It's not easy. The best thing I found was Jillian's 30 Day Shred, because it was 25 minutes long, and I have a two and four year old, and I could often manage to squeeze it in before the end of the world occurred. And I had great results with it, too. I know how it is! Feel free to add me if you want - I'm a crazy busy…
  • I love you. And I'm tired of seeing girls who are losing weight in unhealthy ways continuously praised for how they look. I'm also tired of people claiming others are unhealthy - judging what people eat or look like doesn't tell you much at all, other than you're a judgy a-hat.
  • I agree with this, too. My body rebels if I change anything for nearly a month before I see changes. It's very frustrating, but if anything it is teaching me patience!
  • It is SO exciting! Congratulations! I love when you go shopping and suddenly realize "Whoa, this size is too big!" Best feeling in the world!
  • This. Just because something is supposed to have x calories, there is quite a variety - a 100 calorie snack pack means it has APPROXIMATELY 100 calories. This is why I don't usually eat back exercise calories. On long bike ride days when I burn 1,500+ I will eat a little more, but you just never know. This is also why I…
  • None. I refuse to give up anything.
  • Face reduction - fat not replaced by muscle. Leg staying the same - fat reduction replaced by muscle. Not a spot reduction. Just no muscle increase on your face.
  • I did 30 Day Shred and Ripped. Sure, I reduced in spots. ALL of them. So yes, you can spot reduce. But you're likely reducing ALL of your spots. The only thing that didn't reduce was my arms.... because they grew muscles.
  • My current favorite is a dark wash whiskered pair of American Eagle boyfriend jeans. The sad part is that I have no idea when or where I got them - I've been randomly picking up smaller side brand name jeans at garage sales or on our local facebook yard sale site, and I just have no idea how old they are. They may even…
  • Yeah, that's understandable. I think OP was just looking for a glass or two, though. I prefer to make it REALLY worth it - go for a 35 mile bike ride, and then you get wasted off one glass of 110 calorie moscato.
  • I was looking for the same thing. Then I realized you're also a Josie. And then I got the warm fuzzy connection feeling, and this whole thread got so much deeper.... Okay, so I'm a bit of a dork. But I agree with OP. Just because we don't all agree doesn't mean we can't agree to disagree. I don't force my friends to eat…
