I've been thinking about doing the same thing sometimes. I have some organic steel cut oats (which have a great nutty flavor) and I found an all natural (as in ONLY whey protein is in the canister) protein powder. Has really no flavor and no added sugars. It's called IsoNatural. If I feel like I need sweetness, then I can…

I find something as close to the item as I can, and err on the more unhealthy side. Most deli meat is fairly similar, so it shouldn't be too hard. Also, try googling the item that isn't in the database to see if you can find the info on another website.

I coat em with herbs: garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, pepper, sea salt, and rubbed sage. Sautee in canola oil in my cast iron. Good flavor, no added carbs, and healthy fats. :) Serve with roasted veggies like broc, asparagus, mashed root veggies, baked sweet potato. Healthy American classic!

I see the change in the tummy and face, definitely. And, girl you have a nice booty!

My biggest suggestion is to just make extra at dinner, then take left overs. I always make a few extra servings of things (buying in bulk helps lower costs) and freeze them in individual servings for me to take with me to work. It'll help save money and you just run out of the door with it. You can get individual mini bags…

We bought two flats (16qts) of local organic strawberries about a week ago... so I now have 16 half pints of jam, 2 loaves of strawberry bread, 9 muffins, and 15 bags of individual servings of frozen strawberries to eat later in the year. I love it! Oh, and I know this isn't "canning", but it is home food preservation…

I love cabbage! Red, green...oh my! The dense hearty leaves have me by the  strings. I loved this one side dish at an Irish pub here where they used paprika and mace...so yums! And bok choy... mmm I totally agree OP, NoM NoM!

I don't know what an iTouch is, but I have the Android app and it has the fat and everything tracked on there - more than I see on the website. I just have to scroll down a smidge from the BIG calorie count at the top on the main screen. Also, don't think of all fat as horrible. Fat isn't that bad for you. You need it for…

I like trance, house, dance type music. So things by DJ Tiesto, BT, Ferry Corsten, Deadmau5. Things that have a great beat. I do have Lady Gaga on my iPod too. I just like things that make me want to dance...and yes, I've started dancing on the elliptical and treadmill before. Oh! There used to be a cd series of work out…

I used to sneak in drinks and candy. Now, I just get a bottle of water. I've never really been into popcorn - I hate how the shells get stuck in my teeth. It's overpriced anyway, regardless of if you think it's healthy or not. Just save your pocketbook the shock of the snacks.

I generally stick to the cabernets. I like a good dry red wine, but not Merlot - go figure. Unless you are getting a wine style drink, the sugar that's in wine isn't added sugar. It should just be from the grape juice. But of course sweet whites, like a spaetlese riesling (late harvest riesling) are going to have more…

I agree, but if you read my follow up post after this I ask if she's double dipping her exercise. The calorie counts are correct, but the problem appears to be the time she's entering. I was clarifying for other people how she could be burning those amounts of calories. :) I wish I could go that long!
-
Julie, are you double counting exercise? Like are you counting walking around while cleaning, so you have two entries instead of just the one for cleaning?

Ok I just looked more at her diary. I think she's more like me - a girl who has more to lose. I'm a big chick, and when I do 120mins of 3.0mph walking it has me at ~900cals as well. And I looked in my diary to see that verified, not hers. So, what I think is going on is related to her weight and the time she is putting in…

This totally sounds like my kind of diet. I  pizza! haha But seriously OP, if you are an athlete (assuming the 5k cals are legit), why are you asking MFP for help, shouldn't you have professionals helping you? I'm betting that something is entered incorrectly - like you have things set in kilos, but you entered…

This reminds me of watching one of those weird shows on Discovery Health that had a girl in it that had some weird bug growing in her foot. And the time that I stepped on the stupid anti-theft device when trying on jeans a couple weeks ago...I still have a little bit of a bruise from that. Man it hurt. On serious note,…

I had a rabbit when I was in college...called the bunny Jazzebelle...turned out a few weeks later when Jazzebelle was humping my arm, that Jazz was not a girl, rather a boy. :noway: I'm still trying to recover. I have a cat named Mernieth (a pre-Dynastic Egyptian queen), that has affectionate nicknames of Nuggles, Nugget,…

It depends on you. I feel best when I don't have a lot of bread and pasta. There are people who believe that we shouldn't be eating the grains we do, regardless of being whole wheat or white breads. Part of me agrees, but the reality is, they are very difficult to avoid. That's something I've learned since I've had to be…

I can see both sides to this issue. My bf is open to great healthy foods and loves how I cook, so we have little issue. My parents however, my mom uses cheap ingredients and doesn't always understand how to cook things well - like over cooked green beans slathered in butter. And my stepdad is crazy picky...vegetable is…

I'm a protein person and try to avoid having too many carbs in a day (I get loopy with too many carbs), but even with how I am, there are days that I have too much pasta and fruit, etc. I don't let it bother me. As long as I don't do it a lot, I'm fine. If I do it often, then I gain weight and notice how I function…

Thanks for the mini giggles with this... I am on a morning first thing schedule...it just slowly worked out that way. Fiber helps, the night before, but other than that my body just said this is it's time. Otherwise, I agree with the other folk who say who cares if you go #2 or not. It's not that big of a deal...you should…

Oooh! That does sound good. I love yogurt and granola! Thanks for the idea! I may just switch the yogurt to a vanilla or honey greek yogurt for the extra protein.

I have issues with breads and starches...they fill me up for a short time then go *POOF* like sushi, I'll be stuffed then the rice vanishes. Same thing with pasta and breads...potatoes... I learned through doing various food tests that I'm a protein person. My body likes hearty proteins and veggies, not a lot of carbs. If…

Interesting. I wonder if they are gluten free. I used to use the Morningstar Farms crumbles, but with the soy there was also wheat protein added. I'll have to look into these since it's nice to have a quick protein sometimes! And sorry OP for making a tangent in your thread.

I saw this in another thread...but what's quorn?

Thanks! ___ Don't forget there is the section for chit chat and fun n games. ;)

And then got mad when people pointed that out... *sigh* This whole mods thing is going to be interesting and make MFP more like other forums. Ahhh post padding and "IBL" to come! Can we get a padlock smiley added? And a thumbs up smiley? kthx. :)

I haven't read all the replies...so... I understand how you feel. There was a guy that I knew and we just got along amazingly. We even talking about how awful his marriage is and he would say he wondered if he made a mistake choosing her over me. Crazy stuff. I couldn't not talk to him because I loved that he would say…

Do you like Indian food? You can make the roast chicken and then some spiced spinach with chickpeas.

There are holidays coming up. You should be able to find some deals. Also, check out QVC, seems lame, but they have some AWESOME deals on things.
