I recently lowered my goal from 1600 a day to 1200 a day. However, 1200 a day is my net goal, not my actual goal. Today, for example, I'm eating over 2000 calories, but my net is still only 1200 because I burned over 800 calories in exercise. Some days I do not burn that much, therefore I do not get to eat that much, but…

Is it from a legitimate company? Can you look it up on their website to verify? I don't think they can just flat out lie on a nutrition label...

Feel free to add me! I've had trouble with yoyoing all my adult life, but things finally seem to be working properly this time!

Kashi makes a really yummy granola bar with dark chocolate, almonds and chia seeds. No real guilt at 140 calories, but it definitely still has that dark chocolate flavor. Very yummy, even though I'm usually a milk chocolate kinda girl, and I normally prefer my treats sweet.

Because you do not have very much to lose. Because taking your time and doing it a little more slowly will allow this to become a gradual lifestyle change rather than a quick-fix diet.

I find that instead of thinking of foods as "good" or "bad" I think of them as "daily" or "anytime" foods vs. "sometimes" foods and "rarely" foods. And of course, with the "sometimes" foods or "rarely" foods, I practice moderation. Since my day to day diet is jam packed with very healthy foods, I do not blink at the…

Nope. I don't consider it a cheat unless you go over on your calories (and even then, it's not a cheat if you exercise to make it up). If it's part of an otherwise healthy, well-balanced diet, then no food is forbidden if it's only on occasion.

First, congrats on your loss! Second, absolutely! I can't believe I wasn't heavier than I was, I ate like it was my job. Massive portions at most meals (except breakfast) and they never felt like enough, I always wanted more. Even after one of my largest meals, a huge plate of restaurant chicken parm with spaghetti (enough…

Gigantic veggie omelet! I'd use 4 eggwhites-68 calories, 4 cups of raw spinach-28 calories, half a red bell pepper-16 calories and 150 grams of mushrooms-33 calories. Grand total-145 calories, which leaves you enough for either half an ounce of lowfat cheese, or a little bit of fruit. I like hotsauce on mine for a bit of…

If it would be a major inconvenience for you, it's not strictly necessary, but I find eating breakfast really starts the day off right. I usually eat an enormous breakfast, sometimes it has more calories than my dinner. Really wakes me up and makes me feel great. Gives me a lot more energy. However, even if it's just…

I agree! Not only the pie chart, but the full nutrition break down! The one we get on the website skips some of the nutrients that the app mentions!

I almost always eat the whole egg, it does taste much better. However, there are times I will eat just the whites. If I'm teetering on my calorie goal, 4 egg whites are less than half the calories of 2 whole eggs, so I'll have those instead. Or if I notice that my daily fat is already really high from other foods, I'll…

I have the same problem. If it's even the slightest bit cold out, my nose tends to run like a hosepipe. Blowing it doesn't help me, just slows it down for a few minutes until it starts running again. Just keep yourself well stocked in tissues, I'm not sure there really is anything else to do about it.

This sounds amazing! Trying it!

You can request a meal be prepared a certain way. For example, once I went to an italian place and asked them to make me a grilled chicken breast instead of breaded and fried for my chicken parm. You can ask for a burger with a lettuce bun instead of a traditional bun, with veggies on the side instead of fries. Does the…

I just throw a nice tablespoon or two onto my cereal. I don't even really notice them anymore. Sometimes, if I still want my chia, I will mix a tablespoon into my chobani, maybe throw in a little granola and make a parfait of it. Or I just bought these new Kashi bars that have chia seeds baked right in. I've also been…

I think vegetarianism is fine healthwise because (depending on the type of vegetarian you are) you still get the benefits of eating animal products like milk, yogurt, eggs, cheese and possibly even fish. However, I do eat meat because I like my diet to be more well rounded. When you choose organic, grass fed, antibiotic…

I have normal skim milk in my cereal, or if I am drinking a glass of milk with whatever I am eating. However, I put sweetened vanilla almond or sweetened vanilla coconut milk in my coffee instead of using coffee creamer. Normal coffee creamer has way too many calories, even the fat free or sugar free kind (I like my coffee…

I love to run, I dread the treadmill. I can walk on it, but running frustrates me. I feel like I'm on a giant hamster wheel. I would rather run in the rain/very cold temperatures than run on the treadmill. I only migrate inside to use the treadmill when it's absolutely necessary. Try getting outside and running there.…

I like romaine lettuce in mine, full of nutrients. I've taken to throwing some feta cheese in mine to mix things up.

Definitely weigh any solids, measure any liquids. Especially weigh foods that are very calorie dense like peanut butter. It's much more accurate. Before I started weighing, I just used to use a measuring cup. Once I got my scale, I decided to compare, using cereal as my example. It turns out that by measuring out a cup of…

I lost weight on my last vacation, even with an indulgence. Most cruise ships will have a gym onboard. What I did on my last vacation (not a cruise) was make sure I got a fairly intense exercise in every day. I earned at least an extra 500-800 exercise calories from it. Then, since cruises are notorious for food, I would…

I generally pre-log about a week in advance. I do this mostly for the purpose of shopping. I go grocery shopping every week, and because we are on a tight budget, I like to usually only buy just what we need. Also, it keeps me accountable, knowing I have a plan and not winging it. And it lets me make sure that all my…

Oatmeal, made a multitude of different ways. Veggie omelette with spinach, mushrooms and red bell pepper. Takes about 10 minutes. Whole grain bagel with either peanut butter and banana or sunny side up eggs Yogurt with granola, fresh fruit and chia seeds mixed in Two ingredient pancakes-just a whole banana and two eggs.…

Sure! It's actually very easy! The entire batch has 1093 calories. I split that between two people because my fiance and I love a LOT of sauce, but it's easily enough for 3, possibly even 4 people, which would reduce the calories per serving even further. First, I melt 4 thsp of margarine in a saucepan on low heat.…

I ate a healthy breakfast and a salad that was under two hundred calories for lunch, and I ran 8 miles today, so I had a nice big dinner. Shrimp with homemade alfredo sauce, using zoodles instead of pasta to save on calories. Also saved on calories by using half and half instead of heavy cream in the alfredo sauce. My…

You definitely should not reduce your fruit. The amount of fruit your eating might be a little low in fact. Plus, I would try to vary it a bit. Oranges and bananas are just as portable as apples. Also, it really doesn't seem like you eat any carbs. If you want to go low carb that's fine, but this seems VERY low....

I remember those days. Your lucky in the sense that you can at least afford to get your own groceries, I struggled a bit with that. A few good options I always had on hand were: Chobani yogurt-they make 100 calorie version now. Full of protein, good source of dairy. I would throw some granola on there, maybe some slivered…

Fiance and I love eggs too! We will go through about 3 dozen in 2 weeks, me eating more of them then him. They are a wonderful source of protein and healthy fat!
