  • Absolutely - I was really pleased to see just how many UK people were on here when I joined, and that seems to be growing too (which is great)! I think the fact that we as users can enter items into the database when they don't exist already is a big part of that, as it means there's already a huge selection of UK foods…
  • I log the food as I'm preparing it or about to eat it - either through the website when I'm at work or on my computer at home, or using the Android app the rest of the time. If I didn't have the mobile app I would have really struggled to keep up with it, but being able to log food easily whenever I need to has just become…
  • Hey - I'm in Sheffield... more than happy for more friends so feel free to add me :)

  • Haha yes! This Xmas and winter I am finding myself having to wear jumpers and put the heating on all the time, whereas last year thanks to my natural insulation (aka fat lol) I maybe had the heating on 2 or 3 times at most.... this losing weight thing is more expensive than they let on! ;) Just think about it this way…
  • Agree with what others have said - don't worry about it too much. The only way days like that become a real problem is if you start having them too often, or if you allow them to break your motivation to carry on. Get back on track with renewed motivation and commitment today and all is well :)

  • Single for 9 years after being in relationship at uni for around 2 years... ended badly & smashed what little self confidence I had left :(
  • Oooh nice - that's a great idea! Mine's not especially sweet, but my biggest snack change has been replacing normal crisps with bags of mini snack-a-jacks or special K mini-breaks (80 - 100 calories a bag). If I'm ever craving a chocolate bar, I now like to have Alpen Light chocolate & fudge bars instead - taste nice and…
  • Hey all! I'm Craig, 29 year-old single guy originally from North Lincs area but now living and working in Sheffield. I've been on the site for roughly around 2 years now and have so far lost around 10 stone - most of which was in the last year. Goals for 2012; to lose the last of the excess weight and podgy bits, to start…
  • I turn 30 in May... trying my best not to think about it! *sobs*
  • Would definitely second the "drink lots of water" - hydration is the biggest thing for me... if I've been to the gym at lunchtime at work or run on my treadmill at home, I always try to make sure I drink plenty of water (and/or diluted fruit juice) for the rest of the day.
  • I use these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0030EPISM Very good, consistent and also can give extra information like muscle mass %, fat %, water % and so on. Would definitely recommend them, and less than £24 now.
  • Yup - another one here who jumped off the WoW ship to play SW:TOR. Right now I have a level 34 Sith Warrior-Juggernaut (tank) and a 25(ish) Bounty Hunter-Mercenary (healer), and am loving it!

  • Plenty of singles here too it seems! Might as well add myself to the collection... single, 29 from Sheffield, England :)
  • I'm in Sheffield and my diary's open... not sure I'm the best example to follow but you have to find what works best for you I think. Feel free to add me if you like, everyone :)
  • Hey - I'm in Sheffield (originally from S****horpe area)... after a really successful 2011 diet-wise and enjoying my week off the diet for Xmas, I'm back on it again from today! The biggest keys to achieving your goal are willpower and motivation... whether that comes from yourself (in my case) or through support from…
  • Well done on your loss and I agree, it's very funny when that happens. I had a similar thing a couple of months ago when I met up with a friend I've not seen for about a year... she was standing waiting for me and as I was walking up the road towards her she continued looking up the street (straight through me!) looking…
  • Excellent! Well done! One thing I like to think about when I'm running on my treadmill (just how my mind likes to wander lol)... if you're running at 10km/hr you are covering 1km every 6 minutes, so as a next goal why not try to do 12 minutes at that pace - which would mean you have just run 2km non-stop! I find setting…
  • I HATE shows like that - they're just a thinly-veiled excuse for people who watch to point and laugh whilst feeling better about themselves. The people on the shows may well lose weight (often quite a lot), but the rate of loss is fat too high, the daily routine they are given is unrealistic and unmaintainable, it sets a…
  • Haha! Some people really are on this planet simply to bring the intelligence curve down a bit! That's beyond stupid...
  • Depending on how big your cast is and how much it limits your movement, if you're really careful you might be able to use a rowing machine too perhaps? Personally I'd probably take a break (or stick to upper-body only stuff) to let it heal quicker and let me get back to my usual workout faster. EDIT: If your gym has them,…
  • Completely agree - it's all about finding what works best for you. If you are happy with what you're eating, the exercise you're doing and you are losing weight - who cares what anyone else thinks! "You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist." - Friedrich…
  • That number does seem high, but given his height and CW I'd say it's probably about right... it depends on what you've set as his goal weight, rate of loss (how much he wants to lose each week) and activity level. When I first started out my initial calorie goal was 2500 a day I think (and I'm 5'10). As I have lost weight…
  • At the moment I weigh myself every Saturday morning... but I am thinking of changing to Friday mornings instead as the time I wake up on a Saturday varies too much depending on how much of a lay in I allow myself, whereas Friday mornings I am always up at the same time to get ready for work (so it's going to be more of an…
