I'm going to lose all 150 pounds I need to lose even if I am saggy and baggy at the end. I'm going to need a tummy tuck regardless, because my fat increased the intra-abdominal pressure on my abs and gave me a diastasis recti (basically the connective tissue between my ab muscles has seperated down the middle and won't go…

I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my dad a year ago on the 28th of this month. Grief is hard. I would suggest not trying to diet right now, but eat at maintance for a few months right now while the grief is so raw and fresh. Adjust MFP to maintain so you know how many calories to eat, track every few days to stay on track…

If you snack in front of the TV do something with your hands during that time. I knit or crochet (the are videos online that will teach you how, and you'll get better with practice), some people color, some people cross stitch (very cheap hobby!). You can't snack while doing those.

And for a lot of people out there it doesn't do anything or not nearly enough to help. Plus when you're depressed it's hard to care about yourself enough to have the discipline to exercise to get any benefits from it. Don't try to shame those of us who need meds to survive. You might not have intended to, but by calling it…

Only if I know them well or they are peddling absolute nonsense, like the guy in my diabetic community who wanted to eat nothing but baked potatoes without butter for a freaking year to lose weight and lower his blood sugar. But even then when someone doubled down on the assertion that excess carbs make you fat, I didn't…

I did their online program for a while quite a few years ago. Back when a point was roughly just 50 calories, and fruits and veggies were not free. It sucked. The database was tiny and all full of brand name stuff. I'm broke, I only buy generic! I didn't like how got added stuff to the database, IIRC either. I seem to…

Wow. That's amazing. And have fun and stay safe on your bike!

I have moderate bipolar disorder (with psychotic features! Fun!) and am on a handful of meds for that. The meds don't make you gain weight, they increase your appetite so you want to eat more. I dealt with that by taking a prescription appetite suppressant. You have to treat your mental illness first. For me, and probably…

Looking great! Congrats!

It wasn't you. I've been lurking for a while before I started posting and it seems that Eric lives to derail threads with wrongness.

Good deal! Keep that thought going, because there will be days (lots of them) when you won't feel motivated. Theres a real honeymoon phase to a lifestyle change, once you get past that is when the hard work comes in. It's okay to take some days off too, as long as you come back. I took three-four months off this this…

I understand and feel the same way about churches myself. It was just an idea I'd thought I'd throw out there in case it could help. (Seriously, if I'm too "helpful" or annoying, just tell me to shut up. I won't be offended.) :)

You said you recently switched shifts? The stress from switching shifts and not eating for almost 12 hours could be causing blood sugar problems, even if you're not diabetic. Personally when my blood sugar gets low (I am diabetic) I massively overeat. I'm only supposed to eat 15 grams of carbs and wait 15 minutes, but I…

Yes. My weight goes up a couple days before and then down the day I start. I don't pay much attention emotionally to the fluctuations, but I do like seeing it go down.

We need a funny button on this site. Because this is funny and like just isn't good enough. And now that I've contributed *kitten* all to the thread, I'm out.

Three hours is way too far for wholesale foods! That sucks. Are there any food co-ops in the area? Like my mother-in-law orders huge things of various healthy foods (she's entirely plant based and more organized than I'll ever be!), we're talking 50 pounds of nuts at a time huge, and splits them up with church members who…

I feel you. I have done that more than once this year, but I'm still down a third of my way to goal (45 pounds lost). Drink some water. Rest for a while until you don't feel like barfing. While you're resting log it and pay attention to how you feel. Try to feel how bad you physically feel, but don't attach emotions to the…

Agreed. I don't use margarine in my house. Butter just tastes so much better. And doesn't do that wierd melt your popcorn thing when you put it on popcorn. Sadly, that's too many calories for me to do often anymore, because I don't have an air popper and use like three tablespoons of butter. Alas! Woe is me! (I still do it…

At first it was vanity. I saw my future in a vlogger on YouTube that day on a couch with a sheet covering her torso because she was too large for her clothes. I was pushing closer to the upper end of plus size stores, so I knew that was going to be me in a few years. Plus added risk of heart attack. Now my motivation is…

I have lost 45 pounds this year. I'm just now seeing a slight difference, and only when I look at photos. I know I've shrunk, I've gone down two pant sizes (I was wearing 28s when I started, but they were elastic waists and I think I would have been in 30s if they weren't elastic, now I'm a 26) and one shirt size. But I…

QFT. Happy belated birthday. I hope the cake was good, and that was very sweet of your office.

Oh, spiders and those big roaches (I'm in Texas, they come inside sometimes and I hate it) always get the nukes. Doesn't do a damn thing to the roaches though.

That squash pie sounds interesting. I love yellow squash. Apple crumbles are good (I make mine with thickened unsweetened condensed apple juice to lower the carbs a little so the crumble doesn't affect my blood sugar AS much), but they ain't pie.

I hope your forgot your sarcasm tags. It's full of woo.

I had an entire bag of tater tots the other day, but I didn't let it ruin my day. I skipped dinner because I was still full from lunch (I don't recommend skipping meals, but I was so stuffed did would have me sick). Logged it, and moved on with tracking the next day. It took 37 years to get to my highest weight and one…

I had a $200 a month food budget for two people, so this post will be long, but full of everything I learned about shopping and cooking for more nutrient dense foods on a shoestring. I'm in the US so I doubt this chain of stores exists up in Canada, but if you have a WinCo check out their bulk foods section. If WinCo…

That's my stats as well. I'm an apple, so all my weight in my belly. I've lost three or four inches there, but I can't tell. I will keep up the work, I want to see normal sizes for the first time in my life. I want to put my diabetes into remission. I want this to be the last time I lose a significant amount of weight. You…

Thank you! Only 100 more to go! I can do it!
