Drinking water can be really tough some days. I know I have to drink it really cold, or else I don't want it. I dont know if you need more calories, but research has shown that on the days you get less sleep, you will feel hungrier. I've always been told to ignore those hunger signals, as they are false. Even if its just once a week though, that is a lot of extra stress on your body. Be careful.

I want to shave a good amount of time off of my half marathon time. I know my weight affects this. I also would like to for once be comfortable enough in my own skin to walk around on the beach without feeling like everyone is looking at me.

Somewhere around 20. I think it would make a huge difference in my running times. However, I really want to get my bodyfat % down into the athletic range, as I think that overall will have more of an impact than my BMI on race times. So Bodyfat % somehwere between 14 and 18%....closer to 14%.

So I just got on the trainer for 30 minutes, and I had an average that ranged from 73-77 the entire time. So I would be okay at saying moderate pace right?

I hope to get one eventually, but that doesn't help me now to figure out what to input. Should I pick the between 10-12 mph choice on mfp? or one that is lower? I'm just not familiar enough with bikes to know my average speed.

I always do strength training in circuit training style, meaning I'm never resting. This gives an added calorie burn as well as adding muscle/toning. If you do strength training this way, there is an option under cardio. I'd say the calories listed are pretty accurate too.

The way I look at it, if starvation mode was as prevalent as this site would have you believe, we would have a lot of fat anorexics. Clearly, them not eating is making them fat *eye roll* If you are eating at levels which would truly impact your metabolism, you have other issues to deal with beyond the scolding from MFP.

I try not to look at this site too much, b/c looking at other pears at my height (5'4") makes me realize I wont like what I look like until I am practically at 100 pounds, and thats a) so far away and b) would place me at the lowest end for my height, or just under weight. One of my friends started wasting away from getting too much vit c. So you can overdo it, but you have to overdo it by a lot. She was popping those Vit C suckers from halls about every 5 minutes in class to help her sit through lecture. Now she doesn't touch the things.

Yeah, typically birth control makes weight control harder. Not due to the previously believed notion that it magically makes you gain weight. What the hormones in many of the birth controls do is make it harder to maintain or gain muscle mass. Sucks. I would not be complaining about losing weight on it, lol

kjensen15, I always have trouble finding pants that fit. Its really frustrating, b/c certain parts are always too big, and certain parts are always too small (in my clothing) just due to my proportions. Not fair in the least.

I currently have a 27 inch waist, and 41 inch hips. Oi. I am very pear shaped. And thighs are somewhere around 23. My goal is to get back to 23-24 inch waist, which is what I used to have, before I put on weight. Oi. Good luck everyone!
