  • Thanks for the info! I'd never heard of this
  • Most tasting rooms in my area do 1 oz pours, though 2 oz pours aren't unheard of. If you get a flight at a restaurant, they may be on the larger size. Don't know how close you are to your friend, but my husband and I often share a tasting, so that we can visit more places. Have fun!

  • I used to love cottage cheese with canned pears as a kid. Now not it so much. I've always wondered if my mom bought some weird cottage cheese brand and I just have to find it
  • What's pb2?
  • Two things I forgot to mention: I eat a pure protein bar almost everyday for breakfast and I eat a hard boiled egg for lunch. Thanks for all the suggestions
  • I'll add Reeses! I like the color scheme anyways -very Halloween-y
  • I love cheese. Even keep a plastic shoebox size container in the fridge to store my cheese all in one spot. I do stick to just hard cheese though because I have tummy problems with the soft cheeses. I think the hard cheese tend to be lower in calories per ounce too. I also really eat a meal without cheese, so I try to…
  • I actually don't like Reese's so that'd be real easy to stay away from. I was just going to go with the "candy bar" packs (mixed bag of Snickers, 3 Musketeers and Milky Ways) because it's what I thought the kids liked best. It's what my brother and I always deemed the "score" items. Then I decided to do just the 3…
  • I thought buying late, would be a good idea too, but my husband said we should buy on Monday because it's our normal shopping day. With only a week, it's easy to stay away, but if there's leftovers...
  • Yeah, I wanted to get them candy that they like as opposed to raisins or rice cakes or toothbrushes or whatnot, but I think most kids like 3 Musketeers. I actually remember last year, kids sorting through the candy, looking for them!
  • hard cheese (I like string cheese and Dubliner) and eggs are my go-to items
  • While it may not keep your dad out of the hospital, I bought my mom the book, "What to Eat During Cancer Treatment" endorsed by the American Cancer Society. It went over well with her. Through cancer treatment her tastes and food tolerances changed. The book lists recipes by what symptom he has (eg nausea, taste…
  • I went on a cruise last year on Holland America. It was really fun and I enjoyed all the excursions. I'd recommend at least looking into the excursions, but possibly not all of them as it gets expensive. But I'd definitely do the ones that get you doing things that aren't usually available to you. Bring a camera Holland…
  • If it's an issue of friends and family who want to hang with you and grab a bite and then complain that you ate too difficult, can you explain that you do this to control or counter your IBS and you'd hate spending the rest of your time with them feeling too sick to enjoy their company. Or can you find activities that…
  • Thanks all I've been to the GI and at first they decided that it was IBS. They gave me the low fodmap diet to follow, but I was still having issues, so they suggested the BRAT (banna, rice, applesauce and toast -though I've see it say tea instead of toast often - when I learned of it, I was told toast and I did toast)…
  • Thanks Lucy I can eat yogart sometimes and other times, it effects me awfully, and I can't figure out what makes it okay sometimes, so I keep it as an "at home" food. Broiled / cooked / or blended fruit / veggies doesn't seem to help with the stomach pains. I actually love fruit, but have become scarded of it. I didn't…
