I need to chew my calories. I drink water. Juicing would never work for me.

It is doable. I lost my first 100 pounds in 29 weeks. SW was 290# @ 1 year I was down 141 pounds. I have been on maintenance for a little over 2 years at around 130 pounds. My calories were 1200 while losing. I am 5 foot 2 3/4 inches, 64 years old. If I can do it, most anyone can with no health issues. Keep your eye on the…

I have had a fit bit for over 3 years. I participate in most challenges that I am invited to participate in. Add me www.fitbit.com/user/24WS2G

You can do this again, and you are worth it. This probably won't make you feel any better, but over 80% of the people that lose weight, gain it back within 5 years, some gain even more than they lost back. Just know that you are not alone in this. It is not easy for most of us to lose the weight and more importantly, to…

Hi Kali, I am a chocoholic as well. I have a piece of Dove dark chocolate caramel with sea salt every day. It used to be milk chocolate all the way, but now, when I do have a piece of milk chocolate I find it too sweet. I prefer dark chocolate now (not the 90% though ). Seriously, moderation in all things. Work it into…

There is kind of a history of callousness for the OP, referring to her parents as disgusting to her. And she isn't married to her BF, so no lasting commitment if she finds him unacceptable. Being young is not an excuse for prejudice.

This is not unusual. Over 80% of the people who lose weight, gain it back (some gain even more) within 5 years. I am 27 months into maintenance and my long term goal is to keep the weight off. So, I will continue monitoring and logging as long as I am able to . It will be a lifetime commitment for me. Just the way it has…

You can not control what someone else does. If you have a fat phobia, that is something you have to deal with in your relationships. It is a prejudice like any other. P.S. How would you take it if the situation were reversed?

Just to stay within my calories for the day. Been to the gym already 65 minutes on the elliptical.
-
It is personal preference. I go to the gym first thing in the morning and never eat before. I have my water bottle, but I do not eat until I get to work.
-
Well, it worked for me. Joined my gym 1/25/15. I go very early in the morning before work. I have only missed one day(2/1/15 snow storm) since then. I am now on a 14 month roll. Love having it done for the day and out of the way.

I see what you are doing there, LOL

Well, I know they never owned at cat, but, I guess most everyone has gotten near a cat/kitten, at one time or another, so I guess most of us are doomed. BTW, I have known a lot of cat people who have died, but not from cancer. How could that be?
-
Seriously? What about the people who don't have a cat, nor never have had a cat, and they have had cancer, or died from cancer. JW, because I have 3 immediate family members, 2 of whom (father and older sister died, husband survivor) who have not had cats.

Law and Order is on when I am at the gym, sometimes on two different channels at the same time, and back to back episodes. I use the elliptical for 65 minutes and it passes the time to watch, Law & Order, SVU or Criminal Intent. I am not much of a tv watcher at home, but in the 14 months, since I got a gym membership, I…

I use the flat out flat bread. Contadina pizza sauce, a lot of veggies, low fat mozzarella cheese. I prebake the flat bread for about 6 or 7 minutes, put the topping on and bake until the cheese is melted. Whole thing is less than 200 calories.
-
I get up very early, every morning and go in before work. I am a morning person though, and know that I am unlikely to go in after work. I work long hours from April through November so working out early is the only option, plus I love being done early. I have 15,000 steps in already this morning, 75 minutes on the…

Been on MFP a little over 4 years, over 2 years on maintenance. I will keep on logging as long as I am able. It keeps me aware. The statistics say that over 80% of the people that lose weight gain it back (sometimes even more) within 5 years. My short term goal is to make it past 5 years on maintenance, long term, keep it…

Are you accurately weighing, measuring and logging everything that you eat and drink? If you are, you should definitely be losing only eating 1200 calories per day. Perhaps you should talk to your doctor to rule out any medical reason for not losing. I had a lot to lose too and ate 1200 calories, I lost 20# in the first 4…

chia seeds, plus they add protein. but they may have an undesirable texture depending on what you are making. I use them in soups a lot

I just looked 80/20 ground beef up in the data base. Verified entry has zero carbs for 4 oz

I think it can be a real eye opener for a lot of us when we begin counting calories and realize how fast they add up and how small serving sizes actually are. I prefer chewing my calories, and can count on 1 hand the number of times I have had wine in the 4 years since I started here. You must be in good shape though if…

NEVER, EVER, GIVE UP. Your avatar says it all! Don't end up like me. Procrastinating and starting over for 1/2 of my life. My biggest regret is not doing this sooner. Seriously, if I can do this, anyone can.

Tip, shop, prep, and prepare as much food as you can for the coming week. Package it in individual portion sizes. Freeze if necessary. Hectic mornings are a snap. Just throw everything in your lunch container and go. Saves a lot of time and saves you from choosing fast food for quick breakfasts and lunches.

I am sure it is a fad for some people, and does not do much for them. However, I have had a fit bit for 3 years now. First a One, then the Force, Now the Charge HR. I will not be without one ever again. I was morbidly obese when I began on MFP 3/12/12. Now, because of MFP and my fit bit I am a normal weight and I get over…

20 months. SW 290 CW 130 maintenance for 28 months like neldabg, key for me is my fit bit, the single best motivator that I have, and faithfully logging on MFP
