start out slow and regardless of hw many reps you're doing, concentrate on increasing your weight load every week. also, try increasing your calories for awhile if you've hit a plateau..!!

i got this book for Christmas....New Rules of Lifting...it's really great. It gives you step by step instructions. It will definitely help u gain confidence because you'll start out slow and go up from there. We even have a group here u cld join...!

welcome! You're in the right place! Glad to hear you say you're through with the gimmicks....keep it simple and stick with it and you will succeed....just move more and try to eat clean. remember that protein helps you feel fuller for longer and drink tons of water...good luck... ;)

i have a Garmin F60....and love it. Although i did have to log onto Garmin website to install an update. It also comes with a USB stick that you leave plugged into your PC, and when your device is in range it automatically uploads workout data onto MyGarmin for future review....

Well, it's setting you at 1200 because in order to lose weight, you need to be at a deficit. When you exercise, enter your exercises and it will guesstimate how many calories you burned... However many calories you burn will earn you extra calories to eat. And yes, you should eat back your exercise calories...

It's a book i got for Christmas by Lou Schuler. The copyright date is 2009, so I didn't think this was a very "new" program. I don't think it has anything to do with bodybuilding.com, but i'm not 100% on that. I don't recall it being mentioned in the book.....

I'm also a fan of sardines, but people either love 'em or hate 'em! Tons of good protein and healthy fat. (Protein + Fat = Satiety)

ALMONDS!!!! I've recently discovered the 'flavored' ones by Blue Diamond. Habanero BBQ and Wasabi/Soy Sauce are my two faves. they run about $4 a can, but if you eat one serving at a time, they last. They really tide me over when I'm starving, and I sometimes add them to a meal if i feel like i'm not full enough.

Full meals would be a tuffy.... If you're trying to lose weight, you should be eating several mini meals per day if that is possible. Instead of breakfast, lunch, dinner (each meal @500 calories), how about breakfast, morning snack. lunch, afternoon snack, light dinner, evening snack? It would make cooking easier if you…
