I don't know what you guys are talking about. I rearranged my fridge, ate the magic soup, drank a few glasses of tea, and donated my clutter, and now I'm a millionaire supermodel who manically bakes the-most-adorable-cupcakes-evah for my massive following of friends/family. Seriously, my hair is so shiny and perfect, and I…

Hey, those minuscule losses matter! .2 lbs is a lot, especially to someone who only has 10 pounds to lose. I personally don't weigh myself very often, but if logging the tiny losses makes someone happy, then they should feel comfortable doing that. Maybe it helps them stick to their goals. ;)

It depends on the person and how (s)he is feeling that day. I started to feel thinner on days I was feeling perky practically immediately - like 5 lbs in, even though it wasn't really noticeable. At the same time, some days I feel like I've magically ballooned back up to where I was before I lost weight. There are some…

Everyone has made great points so far, but no one has specifically mentioned this, which stood out to me. Sure, not eating "junk food" regularly would help you stay fit, but it's not necessary to avoid "junk food" to be fit or to maintain a healthy weight. You seem to believe that it is, or at the very least make…

I'd be happy to be a mentor. Hi newbies, I'm Danielle, and I've lost 50 pounds so far by focusing on the numbers and maintaining a deficit in the least-dramatic way possible. I don't really consider myself to be on a diet even though I eat considerably less than I did previously. I workout pretty much every day, and my…

Hey! Did you know that you can see part of your nipple? It's cool with me, but I didn't know if you meant to do that. (Sorry future posters for spoiling your nipple fun if OP changes the pic!) Unfortunately, I don't think there's much you can really do about this, but I have seen some really fabulous afters of double…

I have the bicycle one.

I have one of those pedal things that can go under a desk. I had to remove the keyboard tray in order to use it, and I still bump my knees a bit (and I'm only 5'4"). I actually don't use it much because it makes it harder to type. If you do get one, make sure you get some oil to lube it up because they squeak. I guess I…

If your treats are fitting in with your calorie and macro goals, then they're not going to hurt your weightloss. If you start having days where you're hungry and using up too many calories with treats, then you should cut back so that you can use those calories for filling foods. Otherwise, all that matters for weightloss…

I totally put my iPod in my bra, too.

In my experience, the first step to dealing with over-consumption (real or perceived) of sugar is to stop obsessing over sugar and how "bad" it is. Humans like sugar because it tastes great. There's nothing wrong with you for wanting to eat delicious sugary treats all day long. It's fun! Telling yourself that eating the…

Thanks for making want Tennessee Honey :p I'm pretty sure I have some in my fridge...

This is what I was thinking as well. He probably forgot that the race was this weekend and had been anticipating his time to recover from the week, so when you reminded him of the race he went into turbo stress mode and reacted like this. He did initially agree to go, and you say that he's awesome 99% of the time, which…

The reason she is correct is that your cup size is determined by subtracting your band size from the circumference of the fullest part of your breasts. If your breasts do not change size but your band does, then your cup size will change because the subtraction would result in a higher number, meaning a bigger cup size. If…

Just log the chocolate bar, be mindful of your other meals, and, if necessary, get in a little activity. Chances are, your deficit is bigger than 250 calories, so even if you went over by the entire amount today you'd still lose weight. You don't have to give up treats to lose weight, and you don't have to avoid candy to…

It sounds like you've had some positive changes with your body! Hey, you're in single digit sizes now! Go you! :D Also, don't forget that we have weight fluctuations on a regular basis, especially us ladies. You might have been retaining water that day at the doctor's. Don't let one disappointing weigh in stop you because…

Yeah, I keep meaning to get some mace or something. I've been ignoring it as much as possible, and sometimes I luck out and he's either not home/in the house. I actually think it's two old dudes who both live in the house together. I run at night, which doesn't really help matters. I live right next to a school, so I don't…

Lies, all lies. You hater, you. ;)

It's still not cool to accuse people in this thread of these behaviors, especially considering how helpful they are. On the note about being comfortable when you work out: I have a creepy old guy who sits outside his house and yells crap at me while I'm running. One day he even came down to the edge of the driveway to try…

What???? :open_mouth: Why didn't anyone tell me that heroin isn't part of a healthy lifestyle???

Seriously? The other people who commented on this post have shown no indication that they think this way. In fact, I'd argue the opposite. This is on you, buddy. It's your perception.

I'm wondering what is wrong with a person that makes them actively root against someone who is doing something to improve her/his health just so that they might appear to be right about something so stupid. :unamused: You're a bad person.

I thought this thread was going to be about the positive feelings associated with getting more attention after weight loss. :\ I disagree that women are pickier than men, or are more likely to date heavier women. This has not been my experience.

I'm not sure if I do the same thing when walking, but I do tend to roll my ankles and walk on my toes. Hmmm...maybe this is unfixable?

Wow, she is fast! I never thought about checking youtube. :)

Lots of interesting replys! Thanks! I'm going to check out Pose Running and try to pay attention to what my arms are doing, in addition to the high knees. I think the running-specific stretching would help as well.

I'm not sure what my stride length is, but I don't think it's long. I just asked the person who watched me run today, and he said that it didn't look long to him. I already feel like I'm running really slowly, which I think is due to the swivel-kicking. I've not done marching or high knees in conjunction with my running,…
