Happy weekend guys!! Just to make them obvious for people skimming posts, this week's challenges are: Exercise: Work on those abs! However you want to do it, but one OWL for every day you work on them (I'm with MomofJandA with this... planks!!!) Food: one OWL for each day you substitute at least one healthier fruit/veggie…

Congratulations to our prefects this week.... srp2011 and Korkster! Whoop! Two really high totals, higher then the last few week's winners for sure, so great work from these two! Also congratulations to... blackhawkgirl91, brittlynn07, CivicSista, karinane, Korkser, me (smugly), matchamatcha, MomofJandA, rosesquelettique,…

MomOfJandA- DEFINITELY do it! Sounds awesome and think how amazing it'll feel afterwards! I'd be really jealous!

Hmm, not sure what's going on with the threads- we appear to have two going on simultaneously. However, whoop whoop! Rolled over into another thread! Ravenclaws, you rock! So supportive and even when there's not much activity in the common room it's always nice to know people are checking it and responding to everyone's…

OOOOOOKKKKAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY challenges time! Exercise: 15 minutes of punching per day (three lots of five mins is probably best). legs wide, sink into a half squat, then punch! Movement should come from the waist, not just the arm. One OWL for every day you do it. Food: (Ooh Azsuzi this is going to be tough for you on your…

Happy Saturday Ravenclaws! Hope everyone's got a fun weekend planned. I am trying to save money so staying in and sitting by the pool instead of going out, am a bit tomato-esque today though, was very hot out there! I will post challenges asap, just waiting to hear from one of our prefects. Just to add to the Joss Whedon…

Yay for civicSista for good news! And yay to datenshi that you get a long weekend! I have just done a super long run, then swum, and stayed under cals with a vengeance today, so am feeling super smug... :-) Only one more day to the weekend, yay!

My students bought my Royce's chocolate today- nom nom so good! Not good for calories though, and no exercise (too busy), and none planned for tomorrow. Will have to do more sensible food choices tomorrow!

The guy in my local running shop says a decent pair should last up to 1000km, but that if you get any toe pain, knee pain or shin pain to try a new pair for a few days, to see if that's the cause.

Ok guys, how about this then... This week, we stick with the 'no caffeine' target, which is what was given, and those of us who can't do it (me included!) just suck it up and try and get all the exercise and spirit OWLS instead. Then, from next week, we try to ensure that targets are more customisable- I have faith that…

BOOOOO I gained this week! 2.5lb gain! That's what you get for not logging and saving all your exercise for one day instead of spreading it out. I AM going to lose that 2.5lb this week, and a bit more. I am I am I am!
-
Matchamatcha you look fab! Well done on reaching your goal, good luck with the next one!
-
Hmm, I think challenges should be tough but attainable- I think Azsuzi and Matchamatcha, if they want to, should be able to modify the challenge- how about trying to half your caffeine intake? Azsuzi- could you have little cups instead of your big mugs?! What do other people think about modifying the challenges? Lottee x

OK, challenge time! Next weeks challenges, courtesy of our prefects, are: Food: One OWL for each day caffeine free (Datenshi is trying to kill me!) Exercise: An extra 15 minutes of walking each day. Get it in where you can- by parking further from the door at work, etc. Spirit: Post. Have a good weekend Ravenclaws, lottee…

Morning All! Just had my morning iced water- great wake up for the morning! Forgot yesterday as it was a holiday- am less organised than on work mornings. Did the abs section of my pilates section last night- one word: OW! Pain today, I couldn't even do half of the moves! My aim is to do it every day, and, by the end of…
-
Ooh good luck Azsuzi! I think this week my target area will be my abs- Definitely would like some definition in that area! I have a pilates DVD called '10 minute solutions' which has a different section for each area of the body- I usually only do the buns and thighs section but this week I'm going to do the abs section.…

I was scared to run for a long time, but recently finished C25K and am training for a 10k run in a months time. just remember- you can't look as ridiculous as my friend and I- we live in Thailand, and run in the main running track in the city. Everyone else running goes twice as fast as us, twice the distance, and compete…

Hey Raveclaws! Right, challenge time. Sorry these are later than usual- was waiting for the prefects and then was at the beach when my phone died, so no internet and had to wait until I got home. Why is technology so useless?! Anyway: Exercise: Strength training on an area you normally neglect! I love this because you all…

Now more interesting stuff! Thanks for the tips guys! I am doing a bridge to 10k program, and it's going well, 10k still seems like a huge jump though! am looking forward to the races though, and, as you say, my only goal is to finish! and try not to walk too much... good advice about not following the leaders though- I'm…

Morning all! house stuff: congratualtions to matchamatcha and Lady Bezoar for being prefects this week! also a big shout out to Civicsista- you were joint with Lady bezoar on OWLS but she had more exercise minutes than you which I use as a decided when it's tied- maybe increasing those would get the scales to move?! the…

Evening all! So, my friend and I started couch to 5k in February, and finished it just before my Easter holiday (as we missed a fair few sessions for holidays, school events etc). We then decided to carry on and train for 10k, as a general target to meet before I leave Thailand in July. It was all fun and not very real.…

I've done 30DS before, and am currently going through it again- in level one I truly, truly hate the bicycle crunches, but today I did them all for the first time in ages, whoop! Not a fan of push ups either but at least I can do them now...
-
Ooh I'm jealous of all the great exercise people are doing- hiking, races, zumba - great variety! i definitely get in a bit of an exercise rut, as am trying to keep up my running after finishing C25K and am also doing 30 Day Shred as have tried it three times but never actually finished it... Got in some swimming today…

How did I miss two days posting?! Super, super busy work week taking its toll I think. I hope we don't get all split up either, I love our Ravenclaws! If people want to move because they're motivated to help another group though then that would be awesome, very much in the original spirit of Hogwarts... RIGHT,…
-
Korkster- oh noes! Hope you find it! I lost my ipod the other day which has m running apps on it, and I cannot work out without music- felt bereft! Fortunately a kid at school found it and handed it in... Right, house stuff... Congratulations to Lord Bezoar and CivicSista, you guys are our prefects this week! Well done for…

You probably haven't because it's protect by password, unless you've logged on a password it won't let you edit locked features. Will have a look though, do you know which formula?

Azsuzi- it always sounds like you work far too hard anyway, I think you deserve a few days off! Good luck with your last two weeks of study! stablesong- It's up to you on the house points- some people log every day to help them remember or to motivate themselves, some people jst wait until weigh-in day. Spreadsheet is…
