  • Jees! 20% of your bodyweight lost! That's incredible.
  • I have to agree with the OP. I love MFP, but I hate their database, or rather its ergonomics. It's such a relatively straight forward thing to add some sort of crowd-based verification/correction/flagging system, and yet it's been this poor for years. Even the system for adding foods is very bad - the lack of clarity there…
  • @sijomial - thanks, will do. @jdlobb - yeah, I'm thinking of getting a HRM too - but mainly for rowing machine workouts.
  • Is this right? (Naively in hindsight) I had thought that if I trained a bit whilst in a deficit, I'd retain "all" my muscle, and only lose fat! This was miraculously going to "solve" my body fat % problem in about 20 weeks! Then I started reading this thread, and to be honest my heart sank a bit. Most people seem to be…
  • Did it for a couple of years about 8 years ago. It was awesome until I tore my rotator cuff doing snatches fatigued. Keep your wits about you, and it's an awesome program.
  • Thanks a lot both. sijomal, thanks - that strength training sounds good - circuit training is missing from my list - I will put some in. In terms of cardio, I like the sound of your "pyramid" spinning. I might do that just like you, or convert it to rowing - 4x(2:30m@2:05,2:00,1:55,1:50). Your 20 FTP is essentially the…
  • Hi sijomial. Have you got any workout suggestions?
  • Some of the questions I need to research are:- * How many days to train each week * How to build in flexibility * How to build in a plan B, when I miss a day, or days * How to train all (or as many as possible) of the metabolic pathways * How to train all (or as many as possible) of the muscle groups * How to minimise risk…
  • That's what I was going to suggest. I'm recording mine. It was a bit depressing seeing so little change until I did some reading that suggested that for me, half an inch waist loss represents about 2kg (4.5lbs). I've started paying more attention to that measurement instead of the scales.
  • Another satisfied UK customer of MyProtein here (although I'm waiting for my first delivery in over 2 years, so I hope they haven't recently slipped). That said, whenever I'm looking to buy, I always check this thread:- http://www.muscletalk.co.uk/The-Official-Supplement-Offers-Thread-m4782234-p247.aspx I always go for…
  • What Velum_cado said... The guys who came up with BMI stated from the outset that it was only of use in measuring whole populations NOT individuals. I'd be very wary of any health professional who tries to misapply BMI in that way - they're presumably the careless surgeons that amputate the wrong limb, or the feckless…
