  • Here's a GREAT veggie dip! Buy a container of plain Greek yogurt and a packet of Hidden Valley Ranch or Harvest Dill dry mix. Take a spoonful of yogurt and mix just a pinch of dry mix at a time until it is flavored the way you like it. Tastes just like a regular veggie dip but low in fat, sugar and low"ish" in sodium but…
  • You're welcome! Here's some grilled veggies for you then! LOL
  • I also scramble some eggs for breakfast with onion, spinach and smoked ham. You can't even taste the spinach. Omit the onion if you don't like them. You can also make an omelet and top in with some roma tomatoes.
  • That's true. :) Every once in a while, I like to use the Laughing Cow Garlic & Herb with broccoli. It's nice to change things up once in a while... but like you say, only if I can fit it in to my day.
  • Here are a couple photos of the roasted veggies, just so you can see the variety. I love veggies though. :)
  • Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of having veggies? LOL! Sounds delicious though.
  • Just a few things that might help: V-8 juice = loaded with sodium unless you are choosing the lower sodium version. Even then, it might be contributing to your heartburn. Fruit cup = depending on the brand, it could be loaded with sugar in the syrup unless you are choosing the ones in the natural fruit juices. That may…
  • Not true, really. Low libido is something many women experience despite enjoying sex with their partner. It is hormonal... not physical.
  • Honestly, I was doing the elliptical every other day for at least 30-45 minutes on various levels and not losing weight. The only time I would lose weight is if I really pushed myself on one of the higher levels (5 or more) in bursts for 20 minutes. I've given up the elliptical now unless I can't get out for a walk. This…
  • 1. That I'm a first degree black belt in Taekwondo (testing for second degree in Dec.). 2. That I'll be 45 this year. 3. That I never missed a day of school from kindergarten through my senior year of high school. 13 years of perfect attendance. :) 4. That I don't exercise as much as I should and eat dark chocolate before…
  • And don't get me started on the whole Lose vs. Loose thing! LMBO!!!!!!!!
  • And it's also the reason why my broom can stand up all by itself today! True story! :)
  • I understand what you're trying to say... I've tried to explain it before when I started out here too. But now, I just put it this way... Pound for pound: Muscles weighs the same as fat. Volume for volume: Muscle weighs more than fat. - If you are gaining weight, but not losing inches... you are not gaining muscle. - If…
  • LOL, I just posted this in a different thread. Breakfast is my favorite and largest meal of the day! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/bjohs/view/my-large-breakfast-explained-160013
  • Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day now! It is usually anywhere between 500-600 calories. Here is another blog about why it's so large: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/bjohs/view/my-large-breakfast-explained-160013 Can you tell I've been on MFP for a while? LOL
  • Yeah, I tried 85% cocao once... ONCE! Never again. That was nasty!
  • I have an old knee injury too. Here is my story, it may help give you some ideas: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/bjohs/view/down-30-pounds-response-to-questions-114202 FYI, I lost the most weight in my journey (10 lbs in 3 weeks) by walking as my only form of exercise. But I focused 99% of my effort on cleaning up my…
  • That sucks all the fun out of it!
  • I like to stay with at least 60% dark cocao. It's more bitter, but I like it. It also helps satisfy my sweet tooth when I get an urge for a treat. :)
  • Feel free to send me a request. I'm 5'2", 44 years old and a mother of 2. I started at 157, reached my goal but gained over the holidays. I'm back to 132 and working to get back to goal. Welcome to MFP!
  • Yeah, I'm thinking of doing a beer experiment next. LMBO!
  • I don't have an answer for you, but this is how I got my husband on board with me: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/501007-motivate-your-partner-alert-racy If it isn't helpful for you and your husband, at least it might give you a good laugh. It sounds like one is needed right now. Hang in there, girl... you are…
  • Awwww.... daddy's little squirt. LOL!!!!
  • That could be caused by any number of things. How long were you eating back more? Women have monthly cycles to deal with and that could have coincided with your weight gain if you only ate back during that untimely week. It could also be that you are grossly over-estimating the amount of exercise you are doing. Do you wear…
  • Every body is different in how it handles certain foods. I love fruit and I used to eat a lot of it including red grapes, bananas, apples, cantaloupe, watermelon, etc. But my body processed the sugar differently and it actually caused some weight gain. I have now switched to only have a serving (maybe 2) of fruit per day,…
  • Agreed. But I went from eating fast food a few times a week to maybe once a month now. All in moderation... it's okay to treat yourself once in a while. It just depends on what some people consider "once in a while". ;-)
  • This is a learning process. People who have been on MFP for a long time have come to realize that eating out is very challenging. I try to find the nutritional information online and pre-log the food I plan to eat so I'm prepared. No worries... chalk this up as a lesson learned for next time. :)
  • To elaborate on what people are saying about eating too many calories: Never trust what you find in the MFP food database. Even labels at the stores are really an 'estimate'. For the best results, assume two things: 1. That you are actually eating more calories than you think you are. Estimate your calories consumed on the…
  • Add Sodium and Sugar to your nutrients tracked as well. I think you'll be completely surprised by the numbers based on what I'm seeing in your meals. You may be sabotaging yourself without even knowing it. Again, when you stop adding the quick calories and entering everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) that goes in your…
  • Kind of what I expected to see. But don't get discouraged! Like I said, it's a learning process and once you start selecting better foods.. the more results you will start seeing. Healthier choices aside, the first suggestion I have is to stop entering the "Quick Add Calories". This only gives you a calorie number (an…
