  • As someone who has suffered from digestive problems and very loose bowels most of my life, what works for me is Goodbelly probiotic juice drink. Whole Foods keeps it in stock, but most health food stores can order it for you if you ask them. It has been such a blessing! It has to be kept refrigerated though. If you want a…
  • Goodbelly! Probiotic juice drink. As someone who has struggled with digestive problems for YEARS this has been such a blessing! It does so much to help, I can really tell when I don't drink it. I travel for a living and will go hunt down a Whole Foods on Sunday or Monday evening just to get Goodbelly for the week.
  • I have enjoyed the cloths I have gotten from Chico's. They can have a very professional look, are comfortable to wear and travel well.
  • A nutritionist once told me "if you are not hungry enough to eat an apple, you're not hungry". When I get the the chocolate craving (like this afternoon), I go cut up an apple and munch is SLOWLY :)
  • I travel for a living so there is no knowing how much space or what sort of equipment will be available. My answer has been TAI CHI! I do it outside when ever I can. If I cannot go outside, I can generally find an exercise mat or a stairwell or I have been known to move furniture around in my hotel room. This page has a…
  • Interesting read! But a rather funny catch 22 conundrum! 1. Pharmaceutical companies fund the "committee" that determines what symptoms constitute psychological conditions. They fund the "blue book" used to diagnose and prescribe medications for these conditions. 2. Making healthy eating a priority in your life is now…
  • I have a Blendtec for home and it is AMAZING! The first time I ever saw one used they put the avocado pit into their smoothies and this thing still made a SMOOTHie! It comes with a really nice recipe book and can blend/chop almost anything AND make ice cream and almond milk. Expensive but well worth it if you use it…
  • YUM! Headed to the Farmer's market tomorrow, will be looking for zucchini! Thanks for the post :)
  • I travel for a living, so eating out for a week at a time is the only option. I have learned to avoid chain restaraunts completely. Before I travel, I go online to look for places that serve "natural" "whole food" or "vegetarian" and either ask or guess as close as I can. Most of these locally run businesses are eager to…
  • I eat brown rice pasta about once a week and am still losing weight. I get to live gluten free and gained a lot of my weight when I "discovered" all the gluten free pastas and baked goods around now that did not exist unless I made them years ago. My husband likes the flavor of corn pasta so we have that about once a month…
  • You are welcome to add me, I am in much the same situation as you. I am also in Florida.
  • A nutritionist once told me "if you are not hungry enough to eat an apple, you are not hungry". I follow that now when I have a sweet tooth screaming at me. I will eat an apple and usually the caving goes away. If I still have the craving, I keep a SMALL amount of dark chocolate covered fruit around (right now it is goji…
  • My husband and I started clean eating last April. He has lost 20 lb without doing anything else. Recently he has stopped losing and goes for walks with me in the evening. I have lost 18 lb and FEEL SO MUCH BETTER! I sleep well at night, I am not sleepy after I eat and much of the pain in the ankles, knees and wrists has…
  • I have had Celiac all my life. I have cheated badly during those "difficult" times in my life. It has trained me to look at the "bad" foods and feel pain. Bread/cake/cookies/donuts = PAIN. Took a while but once that association has been made, it sticks! When the will power gets weak, I just try to remind myself of what it…
  • SUPER Ranch Dressing (Clean Eating) (Makes approximately 8 TBSP - I usually double this) 5 TBSP low-fat buttermilk 3 TBSP non-fat plain Greek yogurt 1/4 tsp onion powder 1/4 tsp dried dill 1/2 tsp dried parsley 1/2 tsp dried chives 1/2 tsp salt Pepper to taste Using a whisk, mix all ingredients together in a bowl until…
  • I love eggs and grits for dinner!
  • Green smoothies 1 Mango 2 whole peaches or 1/4 fresh pineapple 1/4 pkg tofu 1.5 Cups organic spinach (1 generous handfull) 6-8 oz Goodbelly or no sugar added fruit juice 6-8 oz water Can substitute blueberries, strawberries, apples or what ever fruit you like that is in season. The taste of the spinach really disappears in…
  • http://www.thegraciouspantry.com/ is another great site with this feature
  • Agree to both, it is a backwards compliment and it is permission to go buy new cloths :)
  • I do a spinach smoothie every morning. The spinach does just disappear as far as flavor goes. My summer smoothies: 1 whole mango (pealed and pitted) 2 whole peaches (pitted) 1/4 block of tofu Generous handful of spinach 6-8 oz Goodbelly (or any sugar free fruit juice) 1/2 cup filtered water Or 1 pint blueberries 1/4 block…
  • As a lifetime Celiac (diagnosed 40+ years ago) I haven't eaten "poison" bread. I do know that Udi makes a really good whole grain, gluten free bread that has a reasonable calorie/sodium count (and some really tasty muffins). My husband says he likes corn pasta better than wheat pasta. We do clean eating now, which removes…

  • Acupuncture! See a good acupuncturist (OMD) and your soreness will be gone like yesterday's breezes. They can also help a bit with stimulating your metabolism which helps with weight loss.
  • Nice post on Clean Eating from MFP at http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/314945-what-is-clean-eating?hl=clean+eating#posts-4191408
  • I used to feel SOOOOO sleepy after I ate I was concerned about it! I have found that if I cut WAY back on the carbs and eat more veggies with a bit of protein, I no longer want/need to take a nap after I eat. It took about 3 weeks of clean eating and watching carbs for that to go away. You have my sympathy! I am so glad…
  • Thanks for posting this! I have several friends who need to read this!
  • Outback Queensland Salad (w/ Bleu Cheese Dressing) [1 salad] (1074.7 cal/81.0g fat/5.0g fiber/28.2g carbs/57.2g protein/1977.8mg sodium/28.2g saturated fat) 29 I used to eat it without the dressing and croutons, but still! No more! Edit: The 29 at the end is Weight Watcher points - 29 is my allowance for the whole day!
  • A WONDERFUL and humorous flowchart for finding real food at the supermarket from one of my favorite Clean Eating web sites :) http://www.thegraciouspantry.com/clean-eating-grocery-shopping/ My husband has lost 20 pounds since we started clean eating about 3 months ago without doing anything else or even trying. I have lost…
  • Dummies question: what advantage do protein shakes provide? Please keep in mind I am a dedicated "Clean eating" person. I avoid anything that is processed or has non-natural ingredients or anything made with "scientific name" ingredients (stuff I cant pronounce). I am trying to understand why protein shakes seem to be so…
  • Hmmm...wondering if I can saute the onions before work in the morning and then throw everything in the slow cooker on low for the day. Going to have to try it!
