  • Sounds like he was faking it. [/quote] My sister used to break out when she ate chocolate. She was probably faking it too, I mean, who would want to eat CHOCOLATE?!?!
  • When my son was little, he would break out around his mouth anytime he ate pineapple or strawberries. True fact.
  • Anybody else worried about their ammunition supply? They were blasting away and I had two thoughts - they're advertising fresh meat to all the walkers in the area, and what will they do when they run out of bullets?
  • Yeah, that's how I ended up 211 lbs. at 5'03 and in terrible shape! I'm actually beginning to prefer eating healthy food. My lunch salad today was phenomenal after not having fresh veggies for a few days. I didn't like the way I felt after meals over the past few days - too full, lethargic, even had heartburn a…
  • I hear ya. I had dinner at my house this year, so I made two pies and a pineapple upside down cake! We finished the last of all three last night, so the only sweets in the house are my usual treats of greek yogurt/protein powder, thankfully. I'd say that I'm swearing off sugar until xmas, but my b'day is Monday and I'm…
  • When I first did Workout A, I could only do 6 reps, not 8. Today was my third Workout A and with the holiday and laziness on my part, it had been 10 days since I last did that workout. It's an understatement to say that it kicked my butt! Didn't help that I didn't pay attention and loaded 10 lb. plates onto the Oly. bar…
  • OMG me too, I kept hoping for zombie groans when he was in the swamp! Who thinks Lori's baby is really Shane's?
  • I only notice a people at the gym if they stand out for a reason - the one other chick who's using the squat rack is one (and yes I was an instant fan girl), and the lady wearing capris and flip flops while jogging on the treadmill! Bless her heart. And I'm working out at lunch too, so wearing makeup that gets sweated off.
  • That sounds like a LOT of working out. Are you going to be able to sustain that level of exercise? Most people would crash & burn, get tired and give up. You might be better off doing one video per day, alternating days, so that you're constantly challenging your body and mind. Unfortunately, fat loss is something that…
  • it's one day, don't worry about it.
  • Totally agree with this - a few months after I started eating 1200 calories a day, my hair was NOTICEABLY thinner. I freaked out, increased my calories, started taking Biotin and my hair's coming back around.
  • The plateau is not already beginning, your body is just getting used to the exercise. You should change your routine to continue challenging yourself. Up the incline to 15, walk for 2 minutes, drop it down to 0 and jog at a fast pace for 2 minutes, walk for 1 minute at 0 incline to recover. Do several of these 5 minute…
  • I agree, it sounds like you're not eating enough! Maybe bump up to 1500-1600 and see how that goes for a month?
  • Why do you think your weight loss has stalled? Because you upped your calories to 1380 or because 1380 isn't enough calories?
  • Yup, sounds like he had no clue what he was talking about! Like most folks out there.
  • I think it depends on what your goal is. If you're trying to lose fat, then keep the smaller calorie number because that will give you a deficit and you'll lose. If you're not trying to lose fat (although it sounds like you are), then up your calories. Why don't you give it a few weeks and see how your body responds to the…
  • I'm doing 3. I upped the weights on the front squat push press and yesterday I upped the weights on deadlifts. The last set was difficult because of my grip strength, but it's supposed to be, right? I'm going to try the mixed grip a few folks recommended the next time I do DLs.
  • Honey, if you don't know, we sure don't!!!
  • Me too, thank you for doing this study! Wish everyone would read it!
  • Tyrone, you know how much I love watching you work, but I've got my country's 500th anniversary to plan, my wedding to arrange, my wife to murder and Guilder to frame for it; I'm swamped.
  • I think you're too hard on yourself and I'd kill for your abs!
  • I don't and my calluses are getting pretty tough. I'm planning to push through unless I think it's hindering my lifts.
  • I usually have the weights to myself - the men (and a few women) are doing Crossfit and the other women are on cardio machines. Yesterday I had to wait on the squat rack while another woman used it - that was totally okay with me! I think she's a fitness competitor, I need to befriend her. The ONLY time I feel…
  • Answered in a profile post, but I'll answer here too in case anyone wonders in the future. I took off a week between 1 and 2, but not since. With the holidays approaching, I'm sure I'll have enough off time trying to work around days off, etc. That said, I am so happy today's a rest day! My lunch obligation cancelled and…
  • I agree - I tried the Myofusion Milk Chocolate free sample yesterday and it was okay (definitely better than the EAS stuff I've been using) but the Isoflex was the best, imo.
  • Yep, I always am careful about not letting my knee extend past my toes, I think that going up in weight might have been the problem. It didn't hurt until the last set, so we'll see how it goes on Friday. I'm planning to knock out Stage 4 by 12/2, then Stage 5 by the end of the year. I'm really hoping to be able to do a…
  • I'm still using the 25 lb. dumbbells, but today I used 25 lb. kettlebells and they were much easier to hold and less tiring to my hands. Doesn't help if you don't have access to kettlebells, but I thought I'd throw it out there!
  • I really liked the Isoflex Peanut Butter Chocolate protein powder - saved the wrapper so I'll remember it the next time I place an order.
  • Read this: http://members.rachelcosgrove.com/public/The_Final_Nail_in_the_Cardio_Coffin.cfm For body recomp, I'd go with weight training and minimal cardio. Since running a marathon is your goal, I'd do what Yanicka suggests and make that the focus, with strength training a couple times a week. Once you've run the…
