I never get time to have a morning or afternoon snack, so I plan for a 200-250 calorie evening snack. A glass of wine and some cheese is my usual snack, but if I'm craving crunchy/salty...airpopped popcorn, crispy minis rice cakes, vegetables/hummus, sunflower seeds, and if I'm craving something sweet frozen grapes or some…

I totally agree! Do what you like to do, I prefer to walk fast, less impact on my knees.

I use the calorie counter on my treadmill, I always vary the inclines and think the treadmill is probably more accurate. I have a garmin HRM, but you have to enter your data into an online program to get calories burned, pain in the butt. I used it once while on my treadmill, found my treadmill counter to be close (within…

I cut it up and served it, but I passed on a piece of my son's 10th Birthday Rocky Road ice cream cake. ( I did lick the knife though, how many calories in a lick? )

I'm not much of a fruit eater either, it has to be crunchy and perfect or I don't eat it (ex. love a good watermelon, but the grainy ones are horrible, can eat a hard nectarine but hate the squishy ones) I nibble on veggies all day though, in all different colors so I'm getting my vitmains that way. One thing I do have…

I have to wonder why the strength exercises aren't…

Did you just measure your waist? Measure your thighs, calves, arms, chest and hips. If you add up 1/4 inch here and 1/2 inch there, I bet you lost more inches than just the one on your waist. It all adds up. Keep at it, you'll see the results :)

Beef, elk, deer jerky...high protein, low/no carbs, very low fat since most of the meat is fairly lean to start with, and remaining fat is melted off in the drying process. Watch the sodium though...we make our own jerky so have a bit of control there. If you're buying it in a package, check the labels...terriyaki and bbq…

I did the Zone diet before my wedding, also did step aerobics with dumbells for upper body 4-5x per week, and lost 30lb in 2 months. The stats actually showed that I put on 11 lbs of muscle while losing 14% body fat. The Zone book gives ways to calculate these stats. I felt great! Unfortunately I got pregnant soon after,…
