Love that! Slow carb, I guess that's more what I do as well

I'm Angela, I was diagnosed with pcos in my early 20s and did keto for about a year after that, losing about 40lbs. Despite keto and because of my medical issues, I couldn't lose the last 20 or so pounds. To keep this brief, I'll give the very short version ;) because I couldn't reach my expectations I fell back into bad…

8 grams is about a tablespoon I started on 8 grams a day currently taking 12 grams

Dragonwolf is the expert, but from my understanding the pills are at a much higher dosage, and are used at that strength for anxiety disorders. I'm not sure the impact of taking the pills would be for someone with pcos. As for dosage, my ND started me a 8 grams (about a tablespoon) a day and now I'm taking 12 grams.

Physiology I love the idea, but my body doesn't respond well to this method, without breakfast I never lose a pound, despite the fact if given the choice I wouldn't eat until noon. That being said, if it works for you go for it! :)

Congratulations on the success so far! I'd personally start with inositol powder. If you look through other recently topics Dragonwolf explains very nicely it's benefits. I live in Canada and buy mine online it's affordable (about 50 dollars for a two month supply.) Depending on you other symptoms/concerns would depend on…

I did successfully nurse my daughter. I didn't have a ton of milk but I pumped from day one to try to help. However as soon as I tried to restrict calories to lose while breastfeeding my milk would plummet.

My story is very much the same, starving myself and never getting skinny, unreasonable weight gain...migraines from BC, even down to the pre-eclamptic pregnancy... But this is the best place I've found for helpful information and support...take some time and look through the message boards here, there's a ton of helpful…

Amazing!

OP, yes it will register a few things that it shouldn't, and doesn't record a few other things that it should. But on the whole, it's pretty darn accurate. Play with the dominate non dominate hand thing :) if you're an angry typist (and do a lot of typing) you might want to set it to dominant hand regardless of where…

Amazing, you can see the change in confidence shining out of your current picture!

I've issues under eating so the fact MFP adds back your exercise calories as you earn them is an issue for me. I went to a 3rd party calculator to figure out my TDEE including my exercise numbers, which is about 2300 calories, I then deducted 500 calories per day which gives me my target calories of 1800 per day. I then…

Lots a good things about low carb. For those of us with PCOS it's the only way we can lose weight, so it get's very annoying when people spout it's only about a caloric deficit. I would never say low carb is the only way to lose weight but it certainly has a ton of benefits dismissed by the general community on MFP. My…

All of you that are new feel free to add me :) I'm a half decent resource, my best advice however is look through the posts in this group tons of great information! Pay attention to Dragonwolf's posts, she's the most helpful information around! Good luck ladies, you can do this!

LOL DW, Love it if calories were all that counted I'd have been a twig skinny stick most of my life. Interestingly since working with my Naturopathic Doctor on several issues (PCOS and Psoriatic Arthritis) and adding my supplements and removing certain foods from my diet that create inflammation, my "Math" currently works.…

I'm not really adding anything to this discussion, but I want to comment on the fact that people in this group can have a discussion and talk about the merits, or lack-there-of an idea without retreating to name calling, or thinking their idea is the only one that might possibly be right! It's refreshing to read  so…

~waves~ howdy neighbor, I'm from Calgary. I'm probably not the best person to answer your questions regarding Keto, as it's been years since I've done a full Keto diet. I low carb but I count net carbs (carbs less fiber) and stick to around 75 Net carbs a day and it works wonderfully for me. That being said nothing wrong…

Mindset is indeed key... My 7 year old daughter is a perfectionist. (I've know idea where she's gotten that from o:) ) In school when she runs into something she doesn't think she's good at she opts to do nothing than to try and to fail. What we've been working on with her is seeing failures as opportunities for learning…

I have been losing a ton of hair recently too. I've always lost a lot of hair but have noticed a marked difference in the last few months. I'm treating my PCOS through herbal supplements through the care of a Naturopathic Doctor. Two months ago we switched from trying to reduce my testosterone to reducing my estrogen.…

My story echoes a lot of them here. I thought I binged because I was too weak not to. Over many years I've been able to understand what things trigger me to over eat. As someone who's always struggled with my weight (I've PCOS and now in my mid 30's it's finally getting addressed) I would consistently deprive myself of…

5'3" SW 222 CW 187 Initial Target weight 170 At this point I plan on focusing on fitness to lose and re-comp the rest. My best guess would be an additional 10-20lbs to lose, hard to say where exactly I will end up. The number on the scale isn't important to me, fitness/health and enjoying life to the fullest is.

Great work  I've been taking progress pictures every 10lbs! Looking forward to seeing the 40lb loss pictures! I'm at the "clothes hide a lot stage" lol which for those of us who've been significantly bigger know there gets a point where clothes hide NOTHING...lol

Sorry you're right my lean body mass was even higher, at that time I was very active, doing an insane amount of HITT training and weight training. I've since been ill for several years and my scale is showing the lower 110-120 LBM which I know may not be totally accurate. My target weight at 170lbs I know is still high.…

Most people guess me 20-30lbs lighter than I am. I've a friend who is a dietitian and my elbow bone (which they use to measure body frame) is off the scale for a woman. My wrist measurement (that has no fat on it) is 6.5 inches. I've a 34 DDD bust...it all adds up to a really funky body shape.

The 125 pounds of lean body mass was a measure when I had 19% body fat and weight 160lbs...I'm currently 189lbs.

Just a shot in the dark about this, but a low vitamin D level can seriously impede weight loss for some people. Since you seem to notice it's worse in the winter...might want to have your vitamin D levels checked out. If you don't have health insurance you can order on line.…

I'm 5'3" which puts my range of "healthy" BMI from 105lbs to 135lbs. I've had my body fat analyzed both with the caliper method by a professional, as well as the electrical impulse method. With the caliper method (which is generally more accepted as reliable) I had a lean body mass of 125lbs. The electrical impulse method…

As most of the posters here have said a calorie deficit is a must. However if you have a medical condition complicating things it can be a lot more complicated than that. IF you are confidant you are logging properly, and creating a deficit you should print out your journal and take it to a doctor. I can't happen to hazard…

I just checked out her profile and she's struggled with an ED. She may have a valid reason to not count her calories as I find for me it feeds the obsession. Adding and ED into weight loss does complicate the matter. For me I find periodic logging is helpful, shows I'm on track neither too high or too low without the daily…

I agree why exactly do you want to stop counting? There is a lot of benefits from it. That being said counting isn't for everyone.... http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/A_Dabauer/view/logging-the-pros-and-the-cons-707948 That's my personal take on counting calories...
