I think we all have varying reasons for losing weight, if he is doing it for you then encourage him rather than trying to chage his focus, i think that would motivate him more. It would if it were the case with my wife and I.

I think it depends on your income and the types of foods you are buying, you'll obviously pay more for organics and also buying from local farmers but i think that is great. If you have the funds in your budget go for it. My wife and I coupon as much as we can but now we buy less with coupons because what we have coupons…

Most people I know gain all the weight back and then some. Its better just to eat better and count calories in my opinion because you are actually eating food to lose weight. Programs like that work but what happens when you go back to eating actual meals is the problem.

Add quinoa and Wheat gluten (if not allergic to gluten), i'm a vegetarian but i eat egg whites and cottage cheese, i don't know what you have available as far as meat substitues go but i eat those all the time, if you look at the ingredients on those, they are mostly wheat gluten and soy. there are also cheese substitutes.

Well some muscle heads will tell you that the plant hormone mimics the estrogen hormone in women and thus reduces testosterone production in men, Many studies have proven this to be inconclusive and the benefits always outweight the cons. I say keep eating eat but don't use it as your sole protein intake.

If you are not allergic to wheat gluten then try seitan, you make it at home and flavor it as you like.

I made people around me aware that im trying to cut calories and lose weight, some are supportive others don't care. I just got offered some sweets a few minutes ago, which i turned down. Of course there is always the comment or two from the smart mouths, but you just roll with the punches and move on, I think ultimately…

find a regular chilli recipe and substitute the meat for the boca crumbles (http://bocaburger.com/products/crumbles.aspx?productBox=0) or the morningstar farms (http://www.morningstarfarms.com/products_meal-starters-grillers-recipe-crumbles.aspx) They have a lot of protein with little calories and little fat.

Are you drinking plenty of water?

That's unfortunate, just remember that you are doing this first and foremost for yourself and all of MFP supports your goal.

I was a vegan for a while several years ago and i stoped eating processed grains mostly because i couldn't have some of the ingredients in them. The most important thing is to get plenty of protein so you do not loose muscle . Im not a vegan anymore but im still a vegetarian. I'm sure you know all about the vegetarian meat…

I mash my avocado and use it instead of a salad dressing. Radishes are good with lime and salt and can be combined with cucumbers to make a sort of salad.

Great post, so honest - ditto.

I've been a vegetarian going on 7 years, i was a pescetarian for a while as i stepped down to being a vegan which i was for a year - i like cheese - so that didn't work out for long. This is the easiest time to be a vegetarian since there are so many meat replacement products, if you are not allergic to gluten you are good…

I think that after losing weight and the feeling you get and the benefits you gain give you a different perspective. Its like a drug food eases stress, and like a drug addict some people have to hit rock bottom, i.e. me. but some people never do unfortunately. It's similar to religion i think, the people in it see others…

I tried it out and its not worth it, you can drop more weight using MFP, plus its free.

Yeah typically the more you weight the more calories you burn doing the same activities as some one weighs less. Thats why it is important to update your weight as you lose it.

I enter everything that i consume into the diary, i dont always eat healthy things, when i see the red numbers on 'left' column with the negative sign infront its like a slap in the face. This usually makes me stop and think about what i do next. It takes a lot of convincing your self.
