  • I was diagnosed hypothyroid 11 years ago and have never heard this. I eat peanut butter just about every day. My levels have been stable for years, and my medication hasn't been increased in at least eight years. It was actually decreased a little bit three years ago. I've actually heard that those with hypothyroidism…
  • I'm so glad that I found this challenge. Although I am still trying to eat somewhat healthy throughout the holidays, with all of the parties and such, I am more focused on exercising as much as I can this month. 12/1/11 - 42 min Walk and Sculpt (Chris Freytag cardio/strength workout)
  • 11/28/11 - 141.0 - Thanksgiving weekend got the best of me :)
  • 11/21/11 weigh in - 139.6
  • I've had the Canon T2i for a little over a year now. I LOVE it!! I was a beginner also. I was also looking at the Canon 60D, but one of the reasons that I chose the T2i was that it was smaller and easier for me to hold. With the lens and sometimes the added flash, it can get quite heavy. Good luck and enjoy! I have so much…
  • 11/14/11 weigh in - 139.6
  • FRIDAY QOTD: What have you accomplished during Round 2? For the people who are registered for Round 3, what are your hopes and goals for the next 6 weeks? I surpassed my weight loss goal in spite of an ankle injury which kept me from working out for a couple of weeks. I also recently started to date someone so I've been…
  • I weigh myself every day and track it in a spreadsheet; however, I only officially count it on Fridays. This just keeps me on track during the week or motivates me to work harder. I also pay attention to the way that my clothes fit. For example, I bought a new pair of pants in Sept, two sizes smaller than when I started…
  • WEDNESDAY QOTD: We all know that women we see in magazines are airbrushed within an inch of their lives. Still doesn't make those images any less influential. Has anything in the media ever directly affected you and/or you weight loss goals either positively or negatively? The first person that comes to mind is Jennifer…
  • Very excited! This is going to be fun and keep me moving during the challenging holiday season!
  • Same for me. There is another challenge that I am just completing, and the next round starts on Monday - Sexy in Six. It is similar to our Diamond challenge: QOTD, weekly Friday weigh in, but there are no partners, just teams. I believe open registration will be starting tomorrow. If you are interested, feel free to get in…
  • TUESDAY QOTD: Do you set mini-goals, with rewards? What are they, why did you pick those goals (and the fun part, the rewards!!!) I give myself a reward for every 10 pounds lost. 10 pounds - Shellac (gel) manicure 20 pounds - HRM 30 & 40 pounds - I bought the equipment to do my own gel manicures. It was expensive so I made…
  • 11/7/11 - 140.8 - so close to be in the 130s... hopefully next week!
  • Go Team Blue! Let's bring it home this week! And to all of the teams, great job! MONDAY QOTD-- So this is a very selfish question, to further my own weight loss. ;) What is the craziest thing you've ever done to break a loss plateau? I have been lucky. My longest plateau has only been about two weeks, and I just kept doing…
  • Right now I am focused on my career. I am attending a derivatives and hedging conference in December in NYC. I'm also debating on if I want to start studying for my CMA (I already have my CPA). I was also recently chosen to participate in a women's management seminar at work. For fun, I took a photography class about a…
  • Laura - I'm new to running but have found that having a couple of playlists of some of my favorite faster, upbeat songs on my Ipod has really helped me to keep going. I will be through five songs before I even realize it. Good luck!!
  • Stress is one of the biggest reasons why I got to where I was before MFP. I was an emotional eater. It's a lot easier now than it used to be though. I will go for a long walk or do a workout DVD if I am feeling really stressed. In the six months that I have been using MFP, I can't think of a time that I really let stress…
  • I have an Excel spreadsheet that I track my daily weight in. I keep it open on my home computer so every time I sit down to check email, MFP or FB, there it is staring at me.
  • I'm going through this right now. Injured myself 2 1/2 weeks ago so haven't worked out nearly as much. Had a weekend where I ate a lot and am now trying to get back on track. Today I logged all of my meals this morning. I am determined to stick with what I've logged today. I do plan to work out, so I might have one extra…
  • Yay for you partner!!! I am so proud of you!!
  • Tuesday QOTD: It's November already, which begins a challenging time of year for many of us whether it is holidays or the need for comfort food in the midst of cold weather and lack of good produce. What challenges are you facing with this time of year in relation to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and/or weight loss? What…
  • Planning meals has really kept me on track. I also tried jogging (c25k) and found that I really like it. I do reward myself for every 10 pounds that I lose as well. As for something I'd like to try moving forward, I can't think of anything right now. Maybe one of your responses will give me a great new idea! :)
  • Me too! I was up to 2.2 miles two weeks ago when I sprained my ankle. I just starting walking again this weekend. Once the ankle gets stronger, I want to go back to working up to that 3 mile marker! Good luck to both of you. I know you can do it!
  • Friday QOTD: This is more to help me but what is everyones favorite low cal meal/snacks? Favorite low cal meal - grilled tilapia with a veggie and small baked potato Favorite low cal snacks - apples with peanut butter, 100 calorie packs of almonds, Skinny Cow candy bars or Kellogg's chocolate peanut fiber bars when I am…
  • The short-term ah ha moment was when my family booked a cruise for next March. I didn't want to be the large one in the pictures next to my thin mom and sister. I also want to start dating again, and I didn't have the confidence to do so. I've been divorced for six years now. It's time!! :) (I actually have a second date…
  • I was always thin in high school and college. But after I graduated, I gained about 20 pounds. I did WW on my own once about ten years ago. I just bought the materials off of ebay. My then husband and I both did it, and we both lost some weight. Then I was diagnosed hypothyroid, my marriage fell apart, I was working 60+…
  • You should be proud of yourself! You look fantastic. It is so difficult to completely change eating habits and get into the routine of a workout, and YOU DID IT!! Congratulations!!
