  • I missed my first morning exercise since I started this program 3 weeks ago. (Forgot to set the alarm!) I am really feeling it now. My exercise gives me energy for the rest of the day. I'll have to find time tonight to make it up.
  • I usually pre-plan my day also. It allows me to know exactly what I can eat for dinner, which is when I always want to splurg and get seconds.
  • Stick with it, Nelski! I just started a 5am workout also. I'll encourage you if it would help! I actually love the workout in the morning (well, maybe not if you asked me at 5am). The rest of the day I know that I accomplished my workout goal for the day. It feels wonderful.
  • I did the Burn Intervals for the first time today. I am not sure what went through my head, but I was convinced that this workout was going to be easier. I plead temporary insanity! I was huffing and puffing and drank a full bottle of water. Good thing I am doing this program, because I am really out of shape.
  • I started the program this week, and I started with 3 & 5 lb weights. That afternoon I got 8 & 10 lb weights. I didn't feel challenged enough with the 3 & 5 for a few of the exercises. The amount of weight I used varied for each exercise. I suggest you do the first day's program and see how you feel. One day of lighter…
  • My daughter did something similar at that age. We did the "Tough Love" approach and let her cry it out. It does work, but it was really hard on my husband and me (a lot of tears on my side). It took us about 2 nights, but she has slept in her room ever since. As for night terrors, my daughter did have those between around…
  • I just finished my first Chalene Extreme workout. I was definitely shaking by the end! What weights did you all start with? I have 3-lb & 5-lb weights, but I do not think it's enough for a few of the excercises.
  • Hello all! I am 29 years old. I have a 5 year old daughter and a 2 year old son. I work full time as an engineer and have been studying hard to pass my professional exam. Since I had my son, I have been steadily losing about 1 lb a month. It might not be a lot, but I have been able to maintain it with simple lifestyle…
  • Chalean Extreme arrived today! I cannot wait to start the program.
  • Hello! I just ordered Chalean Extreme 2 days ago. I was hoping to get into a support group to help push me, because I know it'll be intense. I really want to stick with this program. My main goal is to get stronger.
  • I closley track my weight loss on a graph, and for the last year I noticed a definite pattern. I stay on a plateau for a couple months, ranging about 3 lbs. One week I'd be 131 and the next 128. Then, I jump down into a new plateau. On average, I have lost 1 lb. a month, which I am happy with, but I definitely understand…
  • Do multi-vitamins help with weight loss? I take one because my hands and feet tend to cramp if I don't. Also, I take an additional supplement of Vitamin D, because my doctor said my levels were low. But I noticed a difference in my energy level when I do take it. Samantha - You sure are collecting some great ideas for…
  • Hello all! Sorry I have been out for the last week or maybe even longer. These last few weeks have been crazy. I have pretty much abondoned exercise... just not enough time. Instead I have been focusing on my studies and my family. My exercise has become playing with the kids, and I have the bruises to prove it! They show…
  • Thank you all for the kind words. My biggest challenge right now is my diet. We keep eating out after studying. I'll just have to plan better. Mabug - Yes, Aggie refers to Texas A&M University! The don't have an healthy apple or pumpkin recipes right now, but I have been looking. I love apple & pumpkin breads, pies, etc.…
  • Wow! Congratulations!! You are doing a great job.
  • I gained 2 pound this week. I did weigh in after my coffee, so that may have effected it a little, but I still had a hard week. I started my class this week. It ran from Thursday to Sunday for 8 hours each day, and I get to repeat this same schedule 2 more weeks, every other week. Also, I am starting a ridged study…
  • My plan is to keep doing the program until it is either too easy (after adding heavier weights) or I am bored with it. Then I want to switch to a harder program, like ChaLean Extreme.
  • Today's question: As we approach the half-way mark of our 9 weeks, how are you feeling? What do you think of your results so far? What have you learned? What is your plan for the next 5 weeks to come out of this challenge feeling on top of the world? I have had a tough week as far as diet & exercise goes. Today is my…
  • Next week I will start to study for an exam I need to take at the end of October. I will be studying anywhere from 4-8 hours a day for about 5 days a week. My diet & exercise is seriously going to suffer, not to mention my time with my family. I am already starting to stress out about it.
  • I have been doing level 2 for a couple weeks, and the Lower 2 isn't pushing me enough. I am probably going to move up to Lower 3 next week. But Upper 2... That kills me! I have always had weeker arms though. I cannot finish the pushups yet. When you move your arms closer together, I shake a lot. I may be staying on this…
  • How did I miss this thread?! I have been doing BB for 6 weeks now. I am taking about 3 weeks per level since I was really out of shape, and Upper Level 2 wasn't working for a while on Exercise TV. Next week I may start Level 3 if I feel strong enough. It's 40 min. each though, and she definitely ups the intensity each…
  • I may have gained weight this week (0.4 lbs), but in my opinion that is still success. I have been plotting my weight loss over the last year, and it has been on average a nice steady fall of about 3/4 lb per month. In that time I have made same great, enjoyable changes to my diet and have added exercise to my daily…
  • I am sorry to hear that Samantha. I hope they are ok and will recover quickly. QUESTION: How do you prefer to work out? Alone? At a class in a big group? Outside? Inside? With headphones in or while talking to a friend? My favorite workout is lap swimming. Although I haven't been able to do that in a year. I'd love to have…
  • Question of the Day: When it's late evening, after dinner, and you've used up all your calories for the day but you still want to munch on something, what do you do? How do you stop yourself from de-railing your whole day? I do a few things. If I can, I may exercise a little more, so I can have that small snack. I often…
  • I finally broke through my plataeu this week!! I have been trying to get out of the same range for 3 months, and I finally did it. Hopefully, I can continue this loss. Today's question: What are you most looking forward to about being at your goal weight? I started a program recently that focuses a lot on stregthening the…
  • 8/5/11 Question of the Day!! Here's the scenario: you step on the scale and it gives you a number higher than you were hoping for. A) What would your usual response be? and B) If your usual response isn't ideal, what would you like to change it to? I am not too hard on myself, so I don't get upset about a bad weigh-in.…
  • I'm only slightly taller at 5'0", and my goal is set at 1290 calories. It is tight for me. I had to change some of my daily meals (especially breakfast), and I have to often plan ahead for dinner. I started eating half portions of meat and extra vegetables so I could stay in my limit. I know a lot of people don't "eat…
  • My goals for this week are going well. I use Exercise TV for my workouts, but the program I was following ended. So instead I choose two new ones and got a good workout. Anyone else here have to exercise with children climbing on your back?!!! It makes for an interesting & fun workout. Today, I had a special date day with…
  • My goal is to get out of the range I have been stuck in for 3 months (128-131 lbs.). I would love to hit 125 by the end of the month. I know it's not too ambitious, but I have been working at getting out of this plateau for a long time. Today's QOTD: What is the biggest obstacle to your weightloss right now? What's…
