So nice to see other women with similar goal weights. I don't feel like a huge giant. I'm 5' 11 ish with a large frame. My goal weight is 170. At one time my goal was 130. My mom, my sister, and my husband threatened to force feed me if I ever get that thin.

I've made a couple of swaps lately that work for me. 1. Use cottage cheese instead of salad dressing. For approximately the same calories, I get 1/2 a cup cottage cheese on my salad. It gives me the protein and vitamins that salad dressing doesn't. Plus it makes me feel fuller especially when I'm not having meat on my…

I love the Laughing Cow Swiss and I HATE swiss cheese. It doesn't taste like swiss to me.

Welcome new ladies! Dena - What is pickle ball?!

Congratulations on taking the first steps on your exercise journey! I agree with everyone else. Just keep trying. If you can't do a move, try to modify it (Julie had some great suggestions). If you need to stop for a minute, go ahead. When you get your breathe back, go again. Soon you will find you won't have to stop.…

That would be me too. On top of working outside the home, I have a 3+ hour commute (round trip) that makes for a very long day. It's very easy to feel too tired to workout after the kids go to bed. I have someone to watch the boys 2 days a week so I can go to yoga class so I need to stop making excuses and just go.

Keep up the good work!

Way to go Julie!

I'm 5'11 Starting weight: 310 lbs Current Weight: 298.4 lbs Goal Weight: 170 lbs I used to think my goal weight was too high because it's not the goal weight of most of the people I know (most of which are under 5'7). It's nice to see that I'm not alone in what I think will work for me and my tall frame.

Funny that this was posted. I just had this conversation with my sister the other day. Your body needs a certain amount of calories to maintain daily body functions (brain, heart, etc.). When you are losing weight, we reduce the total number of calories to allow calorie burn. Once you get to goal and begin maintaining your…

You're doing awesome Julie!

I'm still here. I disappeared for a while but I'm back for the long haul.

Woohoo! That's awesome! Congratuations!

I've had the type of day you had yesterday. I just have to keep reminding myself that I am making imperfect progress on this journey. While your nutrition could have been a lot better, you did have some progress: 1. You learned (or were reminded) you can't eat that way anymore. 2. You still came in under calories. 3. You…

You can do it! I am concentrating on logging this week too. That is the hardest part for me, especially when I know I went over. But I'm finding that by logging when I go over, I can look at what I ate and think about what I could do differently next time. Good luck this week!

Good luck! Congratulations sticking to your meal plan, eating in more, and making healthier choices.

Way to go on the clean eating. It's amazing how our bodies get used to healthy foods and don't want the sweet stuff as much any more.

Good job making the effort to eat more fruits and veggies! When you have salad do you use iceberg lettuce or something that's darker (romaine, spinach, etc)? Salads are a great way to get in veggies especially if you go for spinach and the darker veggies. Have you tried making smoothies with fruit and kale or spinach. It…

Way to go! That's awesome! I remind myself everyday that I am making imperfect progress. Some days are great and some are not but as long as keep trying to make changes, I am making progress.

Starting weight (SW) 310 Current Weight (CW) 302.4 Goal Weight (GW) 170 What are your successes with food? I stop eating more often when I am full instead of being a member of the clean plate club. What are your struggles with food? Eating when I am bored. Choosing whatever is on the counter when I am hungry (usually it's…

Did you take your measurements when you started last month? It may be that you are losing inches even though you are not losing weight.

Every year, except this one. I know that this year is different because my attitude is different. I'm not looking for perfection, I'm looking for slow, consistent, change.

Puberty / junior high I was pretty athletic in junior high and high school but I had poor eating habits that were likely a result of trying to use food as comfort. Since I graduated from college 16 years ago, I've put on even more weight because I wasn't active anymore with desk jobs. The sad thing is that I was overweight…

I'm the same way. Last night I almost ordered pizza because I couldn't figure out what to fix for dinner. I finally forced myself to fix something at home. In the past I would have just gone for it and placed the order but I was able to resist the urge. In the amount of time the pizza would have taken to show up, I had…

Goal by Apr. 1 is to ditch 17.5 pounds. Plan: I will eat at least 4-5 fruits and veggies a day, do yoga 2 times per week, complete 8 week beginning running program, drink more water and get at least 6 hours of sleep per night. Reward: New top to wear when my honey and I celebrate our anniversay 2 weeks later.

I often make enough for dinner to take leftovers for lunch the next day. I also keep frozen dinners (Lean Cuisine, Smart Ones, etc.) in the freezer to grab on the days that I don't have leftovers. Lately I've been making a big salad for dinner on some nights. I've been thinking I need to just make it even bigger so that I…

Hi ladies! My name is Angel, I'm 42 years old from California. I've been married for 10 years but with my honey for 18. We have 2 kids 7 & 5. I have been overweight since I was in junior high. A few times I've tried to lose weight and the most I've lost is 25 pounds. I always gain it back, sometimes and then some. I…
