I have this cookbook called Looneyspoons. I love it. They have a recipe called Dillicious Lemon Chicken, but I've used the same recipe for salmon as well. 1 cup low-fat sour cream 1 tbsp. minced fresh dill 1 tsp. lemon pepper seasoning 1 tsp. lemon zest 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves Preheat oven to 425 F.…

I definitely log my fruit. I usually have at least a piece of fruit at lunch, sometimes something in the morning too. Today's orange was 81 calories. Would it make a huge impact not counting that? Probably not, but would it slow down my progress? It could especially as I get closer to my goal weight. Add a banana for…

Like other's have said, repeat a week if you have to (I did, it took me 13 weeks to complete C25K). I also went back a week when I found one week too challenging. Just know that you are improving, even if it takes you a little longer.

I love Zombies, Run too. When I was starting out, I used C25K

Ooh, I'm in. I'll post my info on Wednesday, that's my weigh in day.

As others have mentioned, BMI isn't always accurate, especially for athletes, people who are very muscular, but for the average person I think it's a good tool for helping determine a healthy weight range. Like other tools, your scale, taking measurements, etc, it's not the only thing to look at. Ultimately you need to…

I'm in. I weigh in on Wednesday, so I'll post my starting weight and such then.

Count me in. I've been eating like crap lately, so this should be the motivation I need.

Another vote for Couch to 5k. I regularly run now thanks to following the program. I had to complete a couple of weeks more than once, so it took me 13 weeks instead of 8, but it really helped get me running. I have a 5k race at the end of April. I'm going to also start training for a 10k. Haven't signed up for a specific…

I like making my own. One of my favourites is an Asian inspired dressing. Super easy to make. 1 tsp sesame oil, 1 tsp rice vinegar, 1 tsp soy sauce and then a little bit of flavoring, like powdered ginger. I use a Asian stir fry seasoning I have, it's got some sesame seeds, ginger and teriyaki flavor in it. Play around…

I haven't done 30DS, so I can't comment on that, but it would depend on what your fitness goals are. My goal was to run 5k, so C25K was great for me. It took me 13 weeks instead of 8 (I was also starting out at 238.6 lbs) and had to complete a few weeks twice. Once I completed that I worked on decreasing my time. Now I'm…

I started going to the gym at almost 240 lbs. If anyone was judgmental, I never noticed it. I still go quite regularly to the gym and don't really pay attention to other people, except maybe recognition if I've seen them before. I usually go at the same time so I start to see familiar faces.

Amazing job. You look fantastic.

I love running in the morning, but don't get to do it often. It would mean a really early wake (I guess I could, but I prefer sleep), as my husband leaves for work at 6:30am and so I would have to be back before he leaves to get our son ready for school. So, I do mostly evenings. It's getting cold here and we've already…

I feel ya. I started again more times than I can count. For me, it finally clicked in that this will be a lifelong commitment (not an obsession, mind you). But I've come to the realization that I will be weighing and count calories forever. At times it can depress me, but in reality, it doesn't take that much. I've lost 85…

You could also try the Zombies, Run 5k app. It's similar to C25K as it's a walk/run program, but a little less structured. Many times there are "free form runs" where you walk/run as much as you like in a certain time frame. For example, the first workout is:* 10 minute warm up walk * 1 minute walk/15 sec run (repeat 10…

I just got mine today. This year and last year my work organized a flu shot clinic so we don't have to go anywhere. Besides wanting to protect myself and my family, I work in the event business, so at times 1000's of people are around. I don't want to catch anything, but also don't want to pass along anything to someone…

When I started out, I had a long way to go (94 lbs). What helped me is to focus on smaller, easier to manage goals. I decided on 10% weight loss and every 10% to readjust my goal to a new, now lower 10% goal. Losing 94 lbs seemed impossible, but losing 23 lbs seemed doable. I'm now 10 lbs away from my goal weight of 145…

^This. I've been using MFP consistently now for almost 2 years and have lost almost 84 lbs and have never had a plateau. Any time I've not lost weight or gain, I knew why it was and it came down to what I was eating and how accurately I was logging. As someone else mentioned, I'm sure there are some people that experience…

I'm 10 lbs away from my goal. My calorie goal is 1240. My diary is open.

My starting stats were similar to yours. I'm 41 and a little over 5'5" and weighed 236.8 lbs. I've lost about 84 lbs so far, so it can be done. I'm 11 lbs away from my goal of 145 lbs. C25K is a great program and is what got me running regularly. Good luck with your weight loss. Feel free to add me if you want to have a…

To be honest, I haven't had a plateau, if by plateau you mean no weight loss without knowing why. Any time I've not lost, or even gained, I was well aware of the reason why. Has there been times that my results don't seem to match my effort, sure, but it usually catches up in a week or two. Being diligent helps. For me…

This is me too. I generally don't comment much, and don't care one way or another if people comment or don't comment, Like or don't like on my activities. I also don't generally comment or like "completed food diary" posts unless I actually look at their diary, which I rarely do. I agree with the day streaks, to a point. I…

One of the things I've learned is that enjoying yourself for a meal here and there isn't going to undo all your hard work. Enjoy your holiday meal (or birthday or whatever celebration). It's what you do the other 364 days out of the year that make the difference.

I have a 9 year old son. Generally he gets some snacks for school that I don't find that appealing (Bear Paw cookies, cheese & crackers, Wagon Wheels, etc). Those are his treats. It's easier for me to stay away from them because I don't really like them. Then of course we have the healthy snacks (fresh fruit, cheese,…

Just sent you a friend request!

I'm glad to see you acknowledge that it's going to take some time. Many posts are about people wanting to lose weight quickly and then getting discouraged when that doesn't happen. I've lost 84 lbs so far and am 9 lbs away from my goal weight, but it's taken almost 2 years (I started January 2015). I've sent you a friend…

What has helped me is setting a goal. I wanted to be able to run 5k, so I started Couch to 5k. Completed that (took 13 weeks instead of the 8 weeks, but I got it done). Then I wanted to improve my time. Started out at about 39 minutes for 5k, yesterday I ran my personal best at 31:36. My next goal is to work up to a 10k.…
