Well with not being in my bike for a week, I am out of the "Tour" but will still ride the rest of the course. Wed. 20th....5 mile, 35 minute townie ride, just rolling around ...with a 31 miles commute later today for work.

I ride a far bit, the sore bottom may be because you just aren't used to being on the saddle and you need to toughen up the sits bones area, that area is not used to the pressure you area applying to it. More time on the bike will help as will quality cycling shorts. A bigger, fatter seat may not be what your looking for.…

You HRM will generally be more accurate since it is based YOUR actual heart rate. July 12th...no miles but I did give my bike some good lovin' after work, washed and dried it, snugged up all the bolts, lubed up the cables and chain. July 13th.... 31 miles.....another day of commuting....

This about sums it up, got my fixie about 2 months ago, really takes some getting used to....BUT I do like it....I will also double as a single speed cross bike this fall.

Seeing as how this was bumped...all my bibs and shorts are Pearl izumi As others have said, you really should try them on if possible, price ranges from $30 up to $200, but consider how often you will be riding and for how long (minutes/hours/miles) They should fit snug, you don't want the chamois (padding) to be moving…

and an update... 28 miles this week......60 miles for the month @bstamps12..I like riding in the evenings, half of my riding is now after dark, clear lens in the glasses and in though the nose and blow out of the mouth if the bugs are really bad...
