I'm going to be making some protein bars along the lines of the Larabar (similar to Nakd bars here in the UK) - they look dead simple to make. Basic ingredients - Dates, nuts and unflavoured protein powder. Extras depending on the desired flavour - oats, cinnamon, raisins, cocoa powder, banana, apple... the list is…
-
Sorry, it doesn't really help me at all - there is not enough info here to make an informed choice. What are the reasons for staying away from bananas, strawberries and grapes?
-
Ah, I see! I'm from the UK and we mostly do our food measurements in grams, so the 'cup' thing is a bit alien to me! Sorry, I don't know anything about the difference between the two types :embarassed:
-
You should be able to check in the food database (click the 'food' tab at the top of the page)
-
Well, why don't you weigh your 'normal' cup of oats on a scale and calculate it by weight. Then you know exactly how much a 'cup' is for you. It is only 'bad' if you are logging it incorrectly - so long as you log what you eat, no problem  I think that is what you were asking?
-
I still eat pizza  I handmake it though so I know exactly what is in it - the base is 388 calories, so topping just depends on how many calories I have left over that day! I like spinach and ricotta with black pepper, or olives and anchovies!
-
I weigh about once every 3 months - I don't have a scale at my house, I only weigh in when I visit my parents
-
Yeh - but it should just be the flat cost for the seat they have to pay so the second seat is cheaper than first. Think about how much of a ticket is taken up by taxes and levies which are nothing to do with the airline - a single person shouldn't have to pay these twice. Just pay the cost to the airline - i.e. the plain…

Peanut butter M&Ms are just the BEST things ever. But we can't get them in the UK :frown: Wahhh, not even in M&Ms world in London! I think there may be some banned additives or something...?! But i'm going to Canada in June, so I can stock up then, huzzah! I shall have to take an empty suitcase!
-
Yep, your macro counts for the day change automatically when you add your exercise calories
-
Heh. This.
-
Frank.
-
Well, i've just ordered some unflavoured protein powder as i'm not getting enough in my diet - and i'm not planning on drinking it as a shake! I had planned on adding some to my morning oatmeal and perhaps making some protein bars to have on the go.
-
Blasphemy! Bramley apples are soooo much better for cooking, i've always known Granny Smiths as eating apples!
-
Today I had houmous with carrot sticks and baby sweetcorn as a snack - lunch was salad with tzatziki and lamb - delicious! Other tasty lunches have been 3 bean salad (kidney beans, borlotti beans and cannelini beans) with a drizzle of oil, fresh mint and lemon juice. Dressed lentils with feta (green speckled/puy lentils -…

Ha, ok, thanks for the comments! I'm currently doing strength training on the machines - not ideal I know, but I am trying to build up a bit of arm strength before I venture into the free weights section :embarassed:
-
Hmmm... When I go to the gym I warm up on the elliptical for 10 minutes then do about 45 minutes of strength training. I then finish off with about 15-20 mins on the stationary bike. In terms of calories burned doing cardio, it works out at around 200 cals. So does this mean i'm ok to keep doing these on the same day as…

We're not in the USA - it's capitalised

Booooooom and we have a winner. How many stereotypes can we fit in one post?
-
I did, but then I guess as an 'outsider' the stereotypes are just easier to identify? Not the majority of the thread mind, but there are quite a few posts which made me chuckle  Though there is a disappointing lack of 'yeeeehawwww's in this thread :grumble: Come on y'all, lets crack out all the stereotypes while…
-
*facepalm* how did I forget BBQ!
-
One of the best things about the USA is that everything comes in Peanut Butter or Cinnamon. Mmmmmm. Peanut Butter M&Ms are actually the best things ever invented.
-
Hahaha, gotta love the replies here that are totally enforcing the stereotypes  I wonder if they even know they're doing it?
-
Well, maybe you should read some more, because there are plenty of others!
-
You're Iranian? (Disclaimer - I am J/K  I know my sense of humour doesn't always translate...) Oh, I forgot. Fox News is possibly the root of evil, but i'm not sure
-
Absolutely 100% agree with this - as an outsider, they just make me shake my head and think "what on earth are you doing? What happened to progressive society?". Oh - and guns - but i'm happy to agree to disagree, I know it's a sore subject  for a country that is supposedly secular, politics seems to be influenced…

I agree with the people who are saying to eat something before you go. I used to feel sick and faint if I exercised before breakfast, the Dr reckoned it was low blood sugar. I now always make sure I eat breakfast before exercise and I have been fine since

I am 5'4" and I am aiming for a net intake of 1450. I go to the gym 3 times a week.
-
I have only been going to the gym for 3-4 weeks, but I've already seen improvements. So far I've only been using the machines, I don't want to venture into the free weights section until I've built up a bit more upper body strength. It's pathetic compared to my thunder thighs! I go for 3 sets of 8 reps. Hip adduction/inner…

Just for me, about £20-30 per week
