  • I love your choices, I concur!
  • this is basically my food list too with the exception of the Smart Ones and Cereal.
  • I have downloaded The DASH Diet Action Plan on my Kindle and I'm about half way through it. I have tried to implement what I've learned so far and I'm noticing a difference right away. I've been struggling with how many calories I should eat and this book gives such an easy formula for determining that. I haven't gone…
  • I'm still sitting at the same weight as I was when I started but I'm okay with that. I realized that I wasn't trying as hard as I thought and because of the continued encouragement from this group, especially Jessica and Marla, I've hung in there. I took a break and a good hard look at what I was doing and what I needed to…
  • Im a switchboard operator and only get two ten minute breaks during the day, so I do 20 squats every hour to get moving and get my heart pumping. I can feel the burn! Any time you can fit in exercise is good. You can google office exercises if you want more ideas.
  • So after reading all of your posts I've learned that you need to eat clean, and lift weights and eat enough calories (15-20% below TDEE). My problem is getting both of these things to happen consistently!
  • I would love to get back to 140, but I'm 46 now and when I was in my 20-30's I thought I was fat at 140!
  • Thanks for the recipe, I'm going to try that, it sounds so good.
  • I'm trying to find something that wil work! I saw the Dr. Oz show and I just know decided to go back and read more about what the Dash Diet was all about. I also read a lot of the review on Amazon for the different Dash Diet books. This review convinced me that I need to try this diet even though I don't have high blood…
  • Valentines week is not a good week to try and do what I suggested above. Last night and found candy kisses and today my boss brought in glazed donuts! I didn't even think twice about putting any of into my mouth! I need to get past Shark week to have ANY self control!
  • I also need to commit to NOT eating the following: Candy, baked goods or icecream, basically no sugar. No soda or flavored drinks, white bread or rice. I want to try this for the last 6 weeks and see what kind of difference that makes.
  • I havn't lost any weight and because it's the week before SHARK week I don't want to measure myself either. I'm going to wait until Shark week is over. I know that I've gained some good habits during the first 6 weeks, but I've also gotten a little slack here in the middle of this challenge. Shark week always throws me off…
  • I hope this is what is going to happen for me! I'm 5'2" and I weigh 183, highest weight ever (except when i was pregnant!) I've always struggled with my weight, but when I quit smoking and turned 40, I added another 30 pounds to my 20 pounds that I've always played with! Now I'm 46! I got serious again in Janauary and it's…
  • 1) It is possible for you to drink too much water. Aim for minimum 64 ounces to 1/2 ounce per pound of body weight. (Example: If you weigh 160 pounds, put your top limit around 80 ounces) 2) Dandelion capsules and/or tea. I swear by this stuff! My last two periods I actually lost weight by incorporating Dandelion. I start…
  • I'm just beginning to try and eat clean. Today I brought my left over's from dinner which was Tilapia and steamed Cauliflower and 2 cups of canteloup.
  • I hope more people post to this as I too am looking for ideas other than just salad.
  • I found a great pin on Pinterest that suggests doing these exercise before every shower....... 50 Jumping jacks, 5 push ups, 20 crunches, 20 Mountain Climbers, and 30 second plank. My thought is to pick one of these exercised to do before you shower. Maybe do this for one week and then add another, and so on!…
  • http://muffin-topless.com/2012/12/29/how-to-stick-to-your-healthy-new-years-resolutions/ Another good article about motivation
  • This is when it gets hard for me. I do well for just so long and then I get complacent. Hard to stay motivated when your husband is loosing weight every day and he's not working out and he's not counting calories! I'm still trying, but I need to kick it back into gear. This group is great because I feel accountable to you…
  • It has become very clear to me that the days of starting a diet and losing 2 pounds per week are in the past! I'm enjoying this group because we can commisserate with each other and continue to push each other. I'm going to have to get my patience in check and give myself praises for the little things that I have…
  • Being a part of this group keeps me accountable, even when I don't do what Im supposed to! I didnt' log my food at all this weekend, but I still made good food choices. Friday I went out to dinner with my husband and we split a shrim cocktail, we each had one tiney piece of bread and it was a baggette, so the bread slices…
  • That is one of my goals! good for you! Stupid question what is NSV?
  • I work out at Planet Fitness in Clarksville, IN. I love this gym. It's only $10 per month w/o a contract and $19 with a contract. I did the contract because I like the Hydromassage machine that I have access too. That is my reward for a good work out. They also have tanning beds and something called red light therapy. I…
  • Southern Indiana here!
  • My name is Linda, I'm 46 and I moved here five years ago from California. I was raised in San Francisco and then spent the last 12 years in Southern California before moving to Southern Indiana with my husband and one of my four children. I work for Norton Heathcare in downtown Louisville along with my husband (different…
  • Southern Indiana here, just sent a friend request. Welcom to MFP. I love this site!
  • I'm happy to report that I found a way to make sure that I get in my eight glasses of water. I was good about getting my water while I was working but not on my day off and then one day this weekend I just wasn't thirsty. The scale hasn't moved, but I can tell in my pants where I'm losing a little and I measured my hips…
